Labor shortages have been a real problem since the pandemic, the
Russian-Ukraine war, supply shortages, the high cost of fuel, and the
high demand for supplies. These developments have undoubtedly resulted
in an unparalleled labor shortage for companies. So, what is the answer?
Rest on Sunday. Unfortunately, the entire world is looking for Sunday
to save them.
FedEx is an international shipping conglomerate. And they have found a
solution to their labor shortages. They will have to stop making
deliveries on Sundays in rural America, nationwide. Starting August 15,
2022, FedEx will stop delivering on Sunday in rural markets across the
country.
Iceland’s huge grocery chain chose to close all of its stores early on
Sunday to allow workers to watch the Women’s EURO 2022 final, which took
place on Sunday, July 31, 2022. 
.... the grocery stores announced that they would close
at 4:00 p.m. When “supermarket giant Iceland” announced that it would close early on
Sunday, this “sparked demand for a change in the law” as customers
called on the supermarket chain to close down every Sunday. The
“overwhelming” response from customers also prompted calls to close all
food stores on Sunday, including ASDA, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons,
M&S, and Sainsbury’s.
A chain of grocery stores has teamed up with the entertainment industry to promote Sunday as a family day. The Festa do Peão
is one of the most famous rodeo events in Brazil and features bull
riding, horses, and different shows. During their annual 10-day
celebration, the organizers of this event found that Sundays had the
lowest attendance numbers. So the organizers joined up with a grocery
store company to come up with a “Family Sunday” campaign.
The Leicester Mercury is a British regional newspaper for the city of
Leicester and the neighboring counties. They are supporting the 10-point
plan by the International Energy Agency to reduce the global demand for
oil. The plan includes enforcing a ban on driving cars in cities every
Sunday....
