Extrapolation and Juxtposition of Luke 11:27,28

What this Supreme Court Ruling does is follow the 10th amendment to the Constitution and turns it over to the states....so in some states snuffing out the only beating hearts that haven't yet sinned will be illegal and in other states it will still be legal to snuff out those beating hearts that haven't yet sinned.

Creation Moment 6/21/2022 - The imago Dei vs. being just an epiphenomenon

Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. Acts 17:22

When the superstition of pagan philosophers crept into "science" ...

 

"With the acceptance of Darwinism .... Western civilization took the final step back to the atomism, materialism, and many-worlds doctrine of Democritus and other pre-Socratic philosophers of ancient Greece. 

As the Darwinian paradigm tightened its grip on science, all vestiges of the old teleological-organismic universe, all notions which placed humankind or life on Earth in any special or privileged place in the order of things, were banished from mainstream academic debate. 

The implications of the final Darwinian unraveling for mainstream evolutionary biologists was memorably captured by French biochemist Jacques Monod in his materialist manifesto Chance and Necessity. “The thesis I shall present in this book is that the biosphere does not contain a predictable class of objects or of events,” he wrote, “but constitutes a particular occurrence, compatible indeed with first principles, but not deducible from those principles and therefore essentially unpredictable… unpredictable for the same reason — neither more nor less — that the particular configuration of atoms constituting this pebble I have in my hand is unpredictable.”

According to Monod the human race was adrift in an uncaring cosmos which knew nothing of its becoming or fate, an infinite universe said to manifest not the slightest evidence of anthropocentric bias. 

 

Instead, as Harvard paleontologist Stephen Jay Gould put it, we are merely “the embodiment of contingency,” our species but “a tiny twig on an improbable branch of a contingent limb on a fortunate tree… we are a detail, not a purpose… in a vast universe, a wildly improbable evolutionary event.” 

Or as astronomer Carl Sagan framed the matter, “one voice in the cosmic fugue.”

Thus was humanity demoted to a mere epiphenomenon, to one un-purposed by-product among many, from the imago Dei as understood in the medieval vision of humanity — that of a being made in the image of God and pre-ordained from the beginning — to a meaningless contingency, something less than a cosmic afterthought.

But a funny thing happened on the way to the 21st century. 

Even as the scientific vision of humankind as an accidental by-product of the cosmos consolidated its position of ascendancy in Western thought, the first seeds of a new scientific anthropocentricism were sprouting, in the Bridgewater Treatises of the 1830s. The multivolume work included such contributions as William Whewell’s discussion of the striking fitness of water for life and William Prout’s discussion of the special properties of the carbon atom for life, revealed by the development of organic chemistry in the first quarter of the 19th century. 

Wallace showed that the natural environment gave various compelling indications of having been pre-arranged for carbon-based life as it occurs on Earth.

Two years later, in 1913, Lawrence Henderson published his classic The Fitness of the Environment, whichpresented basically the same argument but in much more scholarly detail. Henderson not only argued that the natural environment was peculiarly fit for carbon-based life but also in certain intriguing ways for beings of our physiological design. He refers to two of the thermal properties of water, its specific heat and the cooling effect of evaporation, as well as the gaseous nature of CO₂ as special elements of environmental fitness in nature for beings of our biological design." Creation Moment 6/20/2022 - Works of Creation Teach the Gospel

 "The spirit of the Old Testament is the Spirit of Christ.

 --The first thing that Moses wrote, through the inspiration of the Spirit of God, was the story of creation. 

--But the power of God in the line of salvation is the Gospel. 

Therefore the works of creation teach the Gospel. 

This is declared in Psalm xix., where we read, "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth His handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge. There is no speech nor language; without these their voice is heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world."

Ramifications of Chalcedon

"Indeed, by the time of Chalcedon (451 A. D.) "the work of corruption [had] rapidly progressed," and the "era of spiritual darkness" was well on its way. "Paganism, while appearing to be vanquished, became the conqueror. Her spirit controlled the church. Her doctrines, ceremonies, and superstitions were incorporated into the faith and worship of the professed followers of Christ" (p. 50). 

At Chalcedon Pope Leo the Great's influence led the bishops to favor the doctrines of 

--Mary being "the Mother of God" (Theotokos), 

--clergy celibacy, 

--and the primacy of the bishop of Rome over the universal church. His leadership was so highly respected that his "Tome was triumphantly received" there (Encyclopedia Britannica, Vol. 17, p. 242; 1968; the Tome established that "Peter had truly spoken through Leo," Vol. 13, p. 955). 

 

Cyril may have been clear in his understanding himself, but if so, he was misunderstood. While his influence was dominant at Chalcedon, his position was regarded by many as "a denial of the human nature of Christ, which, they said, was reduced by Cyril to a mere appearance of human nature" (idem). Such is, in fact, 

--the germ of the Immaculate Conception idea. 

 

While it is true that the formula of Chalcedon clearly affirms the human as well as the divine nature of Christ, the Roman Catholic Church built its theology in the centuries after Chalcedon on the idea that Christ is "afar off" and not "nigh at hand." 

 

It denies that 1 John 4:1-3 applies to them ("every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh ... is the spirit of the Antichrist"). They profess to believe in the "real humanity" of Christ; yet their dogma of the Immaculate Conception neatly denies it in fact." R.J.W.

Mrs. Eli Griffin, 63 years old, is dead as the result of being attacked by an enraged Holstein bull at her home near here yesterday. 

There is some doubt, however, whether death was due to being trampled by the bull or from fright.

--Mrs. Griffin and her two daughters had gone to the barn yard to do some chores. 

--As Mrs. Griffin started to enter the barn she yelled to her children

to run, telling them that the bull was mad. The bull was close onto her when she gave the warning to the children.

PSALM 40: Thanksgiving & Lament

Psalm 40: 

For innumerable evils have compassed me about: 

mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, 

so that I am not able to look up;

 they are more than the hairs of mine head: 

therefore my heart faileth me.

"The poles of thanksgiving and lament are so distinct in this psalm that some divide it into two separate psalms. 

This is not necessary, since the man of God can present his lament and petition to God, while at the same time offering his thanksgiving. 

The thanksgiving is offered (in verses 1-8). leads naturally into the lament and petition section of the psalm (verses 11-17).

His petition is a plea for deliverance from his enemies, but it is wider than that. He is concerned about the triumph of all righteous people (verse 16).

 

1) Precedent from a Past Situation (40:1-10). 

I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. Vs.1

2) The Merciful Rescue by God (40:1-3);

He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock,.. Vs.2

3) The Multiple Resources in God (40:4-5);

Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. Vs.5

4) The Motivational Responses to God (40:6-10).

I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation. Vs.10

5) Prayers for a Present Situation (40:11-17).

But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God. Vs.17.

 

The sixth, seventh, and eighth verses contain a remarkable prophecy of the incarnation and sacrificial offering of Jesus Christ.

--Verse Psalms 40:6. Sacrifice and offering —The apostle, Hebrews 10:5, c., quoting this and the two following verses, says, When he (the Messiah) cometh into the world-was about to be incarnated, He saith-to God the Father, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldst not-it was never thy will and design that the sacrifices under thy own law should be considered as making atonement for sin they were only designed to point out my incarnation and consequent sacrificial death: and therefore a body hast thou prepared me, by a miraculous conception in the womb of a virgin; according to thy word, The seed of the woman shall bruise the head of the serpent.

--Verse Psalms 40:7. In the volume of the book — במגלת ספר bimegillath sepher, "in the roll of the book." Anciently, books were written on skins, and rolled up. The book mentioned here must be the Pentateuch, or five books of Moses; for, in David's time no other part of Divine revelation had been committed to writing. This whole book speaks about Christ, and his accomplishing the will of God, not only in "the seed of the woman shall bruise the head of the serpent," and "in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;" but in all the sacrifices and sacrificial rites mentioned in the law.

--Verse Psalms 40:8. To do thy will — God willed not the sacrifices under the law, but he willed that a human victim of infinite merit should be offered for the redemption of mankind. That there might be such a victim, a body was prepared for the eternal Logos, and in that body he came to do the will of God; that is, to suffer and die for the sins of the world.

 

Verse Psalms 40:2. A horrible pit — Literally, the sounding pit; where nothing was heard except the howlings of wild beasts, or the hollow sounds of winds reverberated and broken from the craggy sides and roof.

The miry clay — Where the longer I stayed the deeper I sank, and was utterly unable to save myself. The Syriac and Arabic translate "The pit of perdition, and the mud of corruption." These are figurative expressions to point out the dreary, dismal, ruinous state of sin and guilt, and the utter inability of a condemned sinner to save himself either from the guilt of his conscience, or the corruption of his heart.

Set my feet upon a rock — Thou hast changed my state from guilt to pardon; from corruption to holiness; in consequence of which my goings are established. I have now power over all sin, and can walk steadily in the way that leads to God's kingdom.

Verse Psalms 40:3. A new song — Cheerfulness and joy had long been strangers to him.  

Praise for a sense of God's favor was a new song to him."

Creation Moment 6/19/2022 - Those 5 Blue Blobs

"Astronomers have spotted five blue stellar systems — which they say appear through a telescope as blue blobs and are about the size of dwarf galaxies — in the direction of the relatively nearby Virgo galaxy cluster, analogous to an enigmatic object called SECCO 1.

“SECCO1, also known as AGC 226067, was one of the very unusual blue blobs,” said Dr. Michael Jones, a postdoctoral researcher.

Using data from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, NSF’s Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array and ESO’s Very Large Telescope, Dr. Jones and colleagues detected five blue stellar systems within the Virgo galaxy cluster.

They found that these structures contain blue stars, which are distributed in an irregular pattern and seem to exist in surprising isolation from any potential parent galaxy.

The five systems are separated from any potential parent galaxies by over 300,000 light-years in some cases, making it challenging to identify their origins.

*The researchers also learned that the systems contain very little atomic hydrogen gas.

*This is significant because star formation begins with atomic hydrogen gas, which eventually evolves into dense clouds of molecular hydrogen gas before forming into stars."
