IN the NEWS - Todays Evil Knows No Bounds

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth,....Being filled with all unrighteousness....wickedness, .... full of ....murder.....
Genesis 6:5/Romans 1:29

"The son of a millionaire allegedly lured a teenage pizza shop worker on a date, took her home and hacked her body up, a court heard.
A remarkable breakthrough in the case of dismembered Sade
Robinson, 19, from Wisconsin led to the arraignment of a 33-year-old bartender Maxwell Anderson as more details about the gruesome murder emerge. Anderson was arraigned on Friday for
the horrific butchering of Sade - who went missing on April 1. Her body parts were later discovered and scattered across Milwaukee.
Anderson, who used to work for his father's insurance companies in Wisconsin and who was once lauded as a high school football star, has an extensive criminal record that includes battery and domestic abuse — and now, charges for murder as he stands accused of butchering Robinson..... the Milwaukee Fire Department was called to a vehicle fire after Robinson's Honda Civic was discovered ablaze. Inside, investigators found pieces of her white shirt and ripped jeans as well as parts of her phone. Later that day, they discovered the first of several body parts belonging to the missing teen — a severed leg someone had stumbled upon in nearby Warnimont Park, a green space on the southeastern edge of the major city.
DNA testing eventually matched the leg, which reportedly still had nail polish on the toes, to Robinson. It had been "sawn off" at the hip, reports reveal. On April 5, just four days after she was missing, other body parts were discovered, with more to follow in the coming couple of days. They included a foot and other flesh, according to investigators.
The leg was tracked down after a ping on Robinson's phone revealed that she — or just her phone — had been at Warnimont Park at one point. It's believed that she was murdered at Anderson's home, where investigators found blood during a search on April 4. The bed was soaked in it, and splatters of the red bodily fluid were found on the walls leading to the man's basement.
The police also reportedly found several canisters of gasoline in the basement, which they believe were related to the torching of Robinson's car. That same day, the former high school football star was arrested during a traffic stop and eventually charged with murder. There are still several parts of Robinson's body that remain missing."

Creation Moment 5/5/2024 - Neptune’s Mysterious Ring Arcs

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God.... Hebrews 11:3

"Carolyn Porco and Fathi Namouni at the Southwest Research
Institute in Boulder, Colorado, in a letter to
Nature in the May 2 issue, have re-assessed the delicate balance of forces that keeps parts of Neptune’s ring clumped into sausage-like arcs.
Normally, any clumps would quickly spread and be erased within a year, but somehow these structures persist. First detected from earth in 1986, they are as mysterious as when Voyager 2 imaged them in 1989. Tidal resonance with Galatea, one of the inner moons, is involved somehow.
Earlier theories invoked corotational inclination resonance (CIR), but this cannot explain the main arc. Porco proposes a corotational eccentricity resonance (CER), that works if the ring arcs have sufficient mass and Galatea has a certain eccentricity. Galatea’s orbit, however, should have been circularized (no eccentricity) within 108 years, one fiftieth the assumed age of the solar system. Perhaps the arcs’ mass causes a residual eccentricity in Galatea’s orbit. The authors point out several variables that don’t fit neatly into any model, and say perhaps CIR and CER are both needed in concert to explain all the features. Some values need to be further constrained before their latest model can be evaluated.
"This was an odd and unexpected discovery. Ring particles are subject to continuous disruption and bombardment by
micrometeorites, subatomic particles, collisions, gas drag and gravitational perturbations by nearby moons. That rings exist at all around the four gas giants is puzzling, if the solar system is 4.5 billion years old, but that some of
Neptune’s should be confined to clumps and arcs was startling and totally unexpected. Planetary scientists may someday figure out how to keep them going for long time periods, but for 4.5 billion years? It would seem very difficult to explain how something so tenuous could be that persistent, because the moons like Galatea are themselves undergoing orbital changes. That’s why most planetary scientists feel that rings formed recently, and we are just lucky to have evolved at the same time too see them. Another possibility never considered is that maybe the solar system is not that old. When Cassini gets to Saturn in 2004, we can probably expect more mysteries of the rings to be unveiled."

Gospels Are Reliable SERIES: Not Biased

They Are Not Biased
"Finally, there are certainly times when witnesses lie, particularly if
they are properly motivated. But what would motivate someone to tell a lie in the first place?
In my experience as a homicide detective, there are only three motives behind any homicide, criminal act, or lesser moral impropriety.
All sins are caused by only one of three motivations:
(1) financial greed
(2) sexual or relational lust, and
(3) the pursuit of power
That’s it. That’s all.
If the authors of the Gospels are lying about their claims, their only lying for one of these three reasons.
Q: Did they get rich from their claims?
A: No.
Q: Did they get a bunch of girlfriends as the result of their claims? A: No.
Q: What about power? Couldn’t it be argued that these men became important leaders within their religious community? While this might seem a reasonable motive, apply it to the foremost leader of the early movement: Paul. Paul started off with the authority and respect of his religious community. As a devout religious Jewish leader, he was charged with hunting down members of the Christian community.
Q: Are we really to believe he would leave this position and “jump in” with the very group he was happily charged to destroy, only to suffer persecution for many years in the hope he might one day return to a position of religious authority? This seems highly unreasonable and unlikely
A:  None of the Gospel authors gained anything from their testimony and instead suffered persecution and death for their claims. The authors lacked motive and bias."
J.W. Wallace
And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, .....Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

IN the NEWS - World Waiting for Wrong Apocalypse

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 Peter 2:1

"Fears of AI are not the only things driving public concern about the end of the world. Climate change and pandemic diseases are also well-known threats. Reporting on these challenges and dubbing them a potential “apocalypse” has become common in the media – so common, in fact, that it might go unnoticed or may simply be written off as hyperbole.
We have found that discussions of the apocalypse unite the ancient and modern, the religious and secular, and the revelatory and the rational. They show how a term with roots in classical Greece and early Christianity helps us articulate our deepest anxieties today.
New Testament authors used the noun “apokalypsis” to refer to the “revelation” of God’s divine plan for the world. In the original Koine Greek version, “apokalypsis” is the first word of the Book of Revelation, which describes a second coming of Christ.....the cultural historian Eva Horn has asserted that the contemporary vision of the end of the world is an apocalypse without God.
However, as the Pew poll demonstrates, apocalyptic thinking remains common among American Christians.
The key point is that both religious and secular views of the end of the world make use of the same word. The meaning of “apocalypse” has thus expanded in recent decades from an exclusively religious idea to include other, more human-driven apocalyptic scenarios, such as a “nuclear apocalypse,” a “climate apocalypse,” a “COVID-19 apocalypse,” or an “AI apocalypse.”

ARCHAEOLOGY: Days of Uzziah

"A scientific breakthrough has exposed the truth about a site in ancient Jerusalem, overturning expert opinion and vindicating the Bible's account.
Until now, experts believed a stretch of wall in the original heart of the city was built by Hezekiah, King of Judah, whose reign straddled the seventh and eighth centuries BC.
He had seen his neighbors to the north, the Kingdom of Israel, destroyed by the Assyrian Empire, and it was thought that he built the wall to defend against the invaders.
But now an almost decade-long study has revealed it was built by his great-grandfather, Uzziah, after a huge earthquake, echoing the account of the Bible.
The wall is in the City of David – the historic archaeological site that formed the original town of Jerusalem, according to the Bible. 'It is now apparent that the wall in its eastern part, in the area of the City of David, was built earlier, shortly after the great earthquake of Jerusalem, and as part of the construction of the city.'
The Old Testament describes the construction in the Second Book of Chronicles.
It reads: 'Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the Corner Gate, at the Valley Gate and at the angle of the wall, and he fortified them.'
Scripture also attests to the seismic activity – with the Old-Testament Book of Amos dating itself to 'two years before the earthquake, when Uzziah was king of Judah'.
The study, a joint project between the IAA, Tel Aviv University, and the Weizmann Institute of Science, revealed...'With the work we've done in the City of David, we succeeded to reach a resolution less than 10 years, which is really something very very new and dramatic.'
Yuval Gadot of Tel Aviv University said the method had also pushed back the westward expansion of the city by five generations." DailyMail

IN the NEWS - Islam begins wondering after the Beast

"According to an article published by NOLA Media Group on April 21, 2024, the Muslim world has adopted their own version of Laudato Si’ called “Al-Mizan,” which, according to the Roman
Catholic leaders, is in line with and a counterpart to the Pope’s encyclical. Truly, the world is coming together as one.

NOLA Media Group published the following:
When Pope Francis released his encyclical on the environment, Laudato Si’, in 2015, Muslims, Hindus and other faith leaders joined Christians in dialogues in response to the pontiff’s powerful call to tend to climate change as a matter of faith. Now, nine years later, Islamic leaders have released a counterpart to the Vatican document.”
The document was drafted by scholars and members of leading Islamic organizations, including the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the Islamic Foundation for Ecology and Environmental Sciences and Uskudar University in Istanbul.”
Christian leaders said the document struck a balance between the Islamic worldview and the Christian perspective, particularly that of the Catholic Church.”
In many ways, ‘Al-Mizan’ is the Islamic equivalent to ‘Laudato Si’,’ the encyclical of Pope Francis, and more recently, the ‘Laudate Deum,’ a follow-up document,” Catholic Archbishop Hubertus van Megen, the apostolic nuncio in Kenya and South Sudan, told those gathered for the announcement. ‘Al-Mizan,’ although building entirely on its own profound Islamic tradition, resonates in many ways the teachings of ‘Laudato Si’.”
In fact, I would like to invite all of you to read them in tandem, as they raise together a harmonious song of praise, who is the creator of the universe,” said van Megen.”

Laudato Si’ is the foundation for the coming solidarity between Islam and Catholicism.
Rome’s common ground philosophy, as defined in Laudato Si’, is
what binds even the Protestant world to her.
As Rome’s power and influence grows around the world, she will soon be able to implement any political or economic strategy that furthers her goals and aspirations.
Rome is positioning herself to be the main negotiator and mediator on social and political issues, above all others. This is exactly what the prophecy predicts.
And all the world wondered after the beast.Revelation 13:3." AdventMessenger

Gospels Are Reliable SERIES: Haven’t Changed Over Time

They Haven’t Changed Over Time
"But even if the New Testament Gospels were written early, how can we be sure they weren’t altered significantly over the years?
How do we know the Gospels we have today are the same as the Gospels originally written by the eyewitnesses?
When an original witness is caught changing his story, jurors are allowed to consider this change as a sign of deception.
In my criminal cases, I typically evaluate the potential alteration of evidence over time by tracing the “chain of custody”.
From the first officer who reported a particular piece of evidence, to the detectives who next handled it, to the criminalists who then examined it in the lab, to the detectives who eventually delivered it into the courtroom, I want to know what each and every one of them had to say about the evidence under question.
The “chain of custody” will help me determine if the evidence was altered over time.
In a similar way, there is a New Testament “chain of custody” related to the transmission of the Gospels and letters of Paul.
The Gospel of John, for example, can be traced from John to his three personal students (Ignatius, Polycarp and Papias) to their personal student (Irenaeus) to his personal student (Hippolytus). These men in the chain of custody wrote their own letters and documents describing what they had been taught by their predecessors.
---These letters survive to this day and allow us to evaluate whether or not the New Testament narratives have been changed over the years. The evidence is clear, the foundational claims related to Jesus have not changed at all from the first record to the last."

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; 1 Timothy 1:18

"The United Methodist Church has made it official, with delegates at the 2024 General Conference voting 692-51 to overturn their
longstanding-on-paper-but-not-in-practice ban on LGBTQ clergy, which formerly prohibited “self-avowed practicing homosexuals” from being ministers.
Applause, cheers, and weeping for joy broke out through the convention hall, both from wayward goats populating the denomination, as well as from demons circling the convention, cracking a smile and winking at each other for another job well done.
According to United Methodist News, 7660 congregations have disaffiliated from the demented denomination, including 5642 this year alone.

Creation Moment 5/3/2024 - Evolution is antagonistic to Creation

"Yet in spite of the fact that the Word of God says explicitly and only
that the world with all that is of it was created, and that this creation was accomplished by six separate and distinct creative words, in six days; and in spite of the fact that one of the three chief originators of modern evolution says plainly that: “
Evolution is antagonistic to creation,” –there are many professed believers of the Bible and professed Christians who hold that the world and all that is of it came by evolution; that is, by an almost interminably long and slow-moving series of ages.
Q: Now, why is this?
A: It is simply because these persons have not faith.
For it is written, Hebrews 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Creation—the fact of creation—is understood by faith.
---Then when any one does not understand it, but instead adopts that which is “antagonistic to creation,” it is certain that such a person has not faith."

Gospels Are Reliable SERIES: Corroborated

They Are Corroborated
"..... eyewitness claims are typically corroborated by limited pieces of evidence verifying only a portion of the larger account.
Imagine, for example, a witness testifies a robbery suspect
approached a bank teller, pointed a gun at her (using his right hand), began to climb up onto the counter (using his left hand), screamed at the teller, and demanded she give him the money from the cash drawer.
Prosecutors may introduce fingerprint (or shoeprint) evidence from the counter in an effort to corroborate the witness. If the fingerprints on the counter match the fingerprints from the suspect’s left hand and the shoeprint matches the suspect’s shoe, the statement of the witness would be considered reliable and corroborated by the evidence, even though this corroborative evidence would tell us nothing about what the suspect screamed or whether or not he had a weapon.
In a similar way, abundant touch-point corroboration exists to verify the New Testament accounts, even though this evidence is unsurprisingly fractional.
From archaeology, to fulfilled prophecy, to the ancient statements of early non-Christian authors, to the internal evidence of language, proper nouns and cultural details, the New Testament Gospels are corroborated better than any other ancient text. Period."
J.W. Wallace
This is the disciple which testifieth of these things and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true. And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written everyone, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

Creation Moment 5/2/2024 - Compare & Contrast

Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? Malachi 2:10

"Plato believed that the Flood had occurred two hundred million years ago.
The Babylonian historian Berosus placed the creation two million years ago.
Hindu traditions that were committed to writing 1,500 years ago teach that the earth’s history can be divided up into endlessly repeating cycles of 4.32 billion years, each of which can be further subdivided into 1,000 sub cycles of 4.32 million years duration.
The ancient Chinese adopted similar teachings of long cycles.

Obviously, the ancients were familiar with “old earth” histories and legends; it is the Bible’s “young earth” narrative that is unique.
This is a powerful indication that Scripture was uniquely inspired by God, and not influenced by the surrounding pagan cultures.

In the Biblical creation account, God speaks the creation into being ex nihilo (out of nothing). There is no reason this should have taken hundreds of millions of years."

Gospels Are Reliable SERIES: Written Early

They Were Written Early
"A significant case can be built to establish the early dating of the Gospels. It starts by establishing the authorship date for the Book of Acts
---There are several missing historical events in Acts, including the destruction of the Temple (c. 70AD), the siege of Jerusalem (c. 68-70AD) and the deaths of Paul (64-67AD), Peter (64-67AD) and James (61AD).
The absence of these events is reasonable if the Book of Acts was written no later than 60AD. Luke wrote two New Testament books; he wrote his Gospel prior to the Book of Acts.
The only question is, how much earlier did he write the Gospel? I think there is good evidence support a dating in the early 50’s based on internal evidence in Paul’s letters.

Paul appears to have quoted Luke’s Gospel twice; in 1 Timothy 5:18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The laborer is worthy of his reward.
(written in 63-64AD) he quoted  ....for the laborer is worthy of his hire Luke 10:7, and in 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when He had given thanks, He brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is My body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of Me. After the same manner also He took the cup, when He had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in My blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till He come (written between 53-57AD) he quoted And He took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is My body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of Me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in My blood, which is shed for you. Luke 22:19-20

---This means Paul would’ve had access to Luke’s Gospel as early as 53AD. Luke (in the first chapter of the Gospel), told Theophilus: “Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you…” This term, “orderly” seems to be extraneous, unless Luke was responding to common first century knowledge about a “disorderly” Gospel.
Papias, a first century bishop, famously claimed Mark’s Gospel (written based on the preaching of Peter in Rome) was accurate, if not orderly.
Luke appears to have referenced this common knowledge in the opening lines of his Gospel, and Luke quoted Mark’s Gospel more than any other source
But this means the information in Mark’s Gospel is even earlier than Luke’s, placing Mark in the late 40’s or early 50’s. These early dates for both Luke and Mark make it highly unlikely they could have been written without vetting from those who were there and saw the truth about Jesus."
J.W. Wallace

That "Knowledge of Good & Evil"

About the Tree of the "Knowledge of Good & Evil" we many times focus on the knowing of the evil. But forget the ability to know the "Good".
"Each person knows in himself the experience of knowing better than he does; and the experience of resolving and promising himself to do better; and the experience of trying to do better and failing;
and the experience of “turning over new leaves,”
and the new leaves soon blurred as the former ones;
and in and through it all only the wearisome and discouraging experience of the treadmill or the quicksand.
Every soul knows that the law of God is good that says that what he is doing should not be done.

Romans 7:24
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
--A body of death because it is only a body of sin--
This is the warfare that is the consequence of the enmity that by the divine word was that day in the garden implanted between mankind and Satan.
But it is not a warfare in which the victory is always on the wrong side. It is a warfare in which the victory need not ever be on the wrong side.

*The only reason why in this divinely implanted warfare victory ever is on the wrong side; is that the soul himself seeks to gain the victory by his own battling and his own struggling.
*The victory in this warfare can never be gained in this way;
the disadvantages are too many
the opposing forces are too many and too powerful
The lost
captured
and imprisoned soul
is too weak to so fight the battle as to gain the victory and deliverance alone.

Adam and Eve were already lost, captured, and enslaved to the enemy.
*Their minds were only the reflection of his mind.
And that being the condition, how could it be possible for them, of themselves, to carry to victory a warfare against their captor, even when the enmity had been implanted?
On the very face of affairs, such a thing was plainly impossible.
Q: What, then, alone could mean the implanting of the enmity and its consequent warfare?
A: Just this: in Adam and Eve in transgression mankind was then in unity with Satan, and with the evil. There was no enmity between them. God breaks up that unity and friendship by creating and implanting in mankind enmity against Satan and the evil
This planting in them enmity against the evil, was in itself to give to them the knowledge of the good. And in planting fixed hatred of the evil, there was given a longing for the good.

The planting of the enmity, therefore, plainly did not make mankind good. It gave them the knowledge of the good and a longing for the good. And it broke up the absolutism of the captivity and mastery of Satan, again setting free the will and the power of choice, so that mankind were again possessed of individuality to be exercised in choosing and willing which mind they would have and who should be their master."

The 2 Gospel Thieves

The 2 Gospel Thieves:
1)
Legalism: Where we keep the Letter of the Law, but not the Spirit of the Law. Where we seek our own Piety rather than His.
2) Antinomianism: Where we reject the Law of God as applicable to the Christian life, free from any of it's obligations under the guise of Grace.

*"The Gospel, like its blessed Master, is always crucified between two thieves—legalists of all sorts on the one hand and Antinomians on the other;
--the former robbing the Savior of the glory of His work for us,
--and the other robbing Him of the glory of His work within us."
J.H. Thornwell

Paul Rejected Legalism: Not by works of righteousness which
we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us...
Titus 3:5

Paul Rejected Antinomianism: I love God’s law with all my heart....Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
Romans 7:22 NLT/Romans 3:31 NLT

JUSTIFICATION (Grace/Forgiveness)

-Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD:
though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Isaiah 1:18
-By Grace Alone- Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Q: Where is boasting then?
A: It is excluded.
Q: By what law? of works?
A: Nay: but by the law of faith.
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Q: What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace?
A: God forbid.
Romans 3:24,25,27/6:15

SANCTIFICATION (Obedience/Holiness)

-The Law as a Mirror of your heart-- Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
Q: Was then that which is good made death unto me?
A: God forbid.
But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
Romans 7:12,13
Path of Sanctification is Dying Daily to Self-- I die daily.
1 Corinthians 15:31

Q: What's expected of the Justified?
A: Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.
1 Corinthians 15:34
Christ's own Words-- If ye love Me,
keep My commandments.
John 14:15
Apostle John's words-- He that saith, I know Him,
and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar...
1 John 2:4
The Will of God-- For this is the will of God, even your sanctification....
