IN the NEWS - Red Ropes of 21st Century

This is the 21st century---& this is what we, on earth, have been reduced to? Trapped by Red Ropes for safety from epidemics.
I understand why the government did it though--apparently in Africa they have conspiracy theory types too (like what we have via the internet-such as those who fall for 9-11 conspiracies, moon landing conspiracies & aliens--the internet can be a dangerous place filled with people of diseased imaginations getting an audience).

Since the government designated the slum an Ebola quarantine zone last week, there has been no way out. Stuck without sanitation or running water, and with food supplies for many running low, people fear for their lives.

The quarantine measures were imposed after rioters looted an Ebola treatment center in the slum, claiming the virus was a government hoax.

A nurse at the center told CNN she arrived for her shift that night to find the center destroyed and not a patient to be found." CNN

Creation Moment 8/28/2014 - Hot Moon

"Japanese scientists have determined that a soft, hot core remains in the center of the moon, contrary to expectations.

A question resulting from a new model of the lunar interior made by scientists at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan is, “how can the bottom of the lunar mantle maintain its softer state for a long time?”  The researchers used measurements from their Selene orbiter to infer a hot core that should not be there.

Another investigator, Prof. Junichi Haruyama of Institute of Space and Aeronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, mentioned the significance of this research, saying,

“A smaller celestial body like the Moon cools faster than a larger one like the Earth does. In fact, we had thought that volcanic activities on the Moon had already come to a halt. Therefore, the Moon had been believed to be cool and hard, even in its deeper parts. However, this research tells us that the Moon has not yet cooled and hardened, but is still warm."

Another article on tidal heating and lunar history was published by the University of California, Santa Cruz, ...tidal heating can preserve some of the primordial heat from the moon’s formation for a time, but heat is lost more rapidly from a small body than a large one.  The problem is explained in the opening paragraph of the paper in Nature:

The theory of equilibrium figures of rotating fluid bodies is a classic problem in geophysics, and it has been helpful in understanding the shapes of the Sun and planets. However, the origin of the Moon’s shape has remained an open problem in the past century, and the body’s deviations from any simple tidal–rotational (spherical harmonic degree-2) figure are large. SDA Issues - The Derek Morris Controversy

Derek Morris is given the infamous credit as the one who began to bring spiritual formation into the Adventist Church in the 1980's. This includes the contemplative prayer techniques which Ted Wilson warned against during his first speech as church President.


* He attended the Shalem Institute for spiritual formation
* He had a Jesuit priest for his spiritual director (basically the same as a confessor in Catholicism)
* He was warned by Jack Blanco about his path he was on
* He pastored Calimesa Church I California which began a spiritual formation program
* He pastored the Forest Lake Church in Florida which hosted a God Encounters event (SDA organization which is sort of the emerging church types within the denomination for the youth)
* Despite this, he was allowed to be part of the HOPE Channel program line-ups, including hosting the Sabbath school program with youth.
* He wrote a book entitled Radical Prayer
* In 2011, he was brought into speak at AFCOE, (part of the Amazing Facts organization run by Doug Batchelor). When it was pointed out that pastor Morris had been involved in spiritual formation--he was confronted. He ended up speaking on the dangers of spiritual formation and disavowed spiritual formation at that event.
* He also became editor of Ministry Magazine
* Some have raised doubts recently as to whether his repudiation of spiritual formation was sincere--or whether he wants just to keep his job at Ministry Magazine.
* As a result, he has now been sent letters twice asking for him to step down as editor of Ministry Magazine--both times he has refused to do so.



The calls for his resignation as editor of Ministry Magazine were based on the following:
"God will not entrust the care of His precious flock to men whose mind and judgment have been weakened

by former errors that they have cherished, such as....spiritualism, and who, by their course while in these errors, have disgraced themselves and brought reproach upon the cause of truth.
Although they may now feel free from error and competent to go forth and teach this last message, God will not accept them.

"We did find enough heat stored in the North and South Atlantic that, if it had remained on the surface, it would have resulted in rapid warming."
Scientists have blamed the oceans for the global warming pause before, but they pointed their fingers at the Pacific, not the Atlantic.
Tung and Chen then searched ocean by ocean until they hit on the North Atlantic, where the heat was playing hooky.
Between 1945 and 1975, the cycle was in a cool phase, sucking up atmospheric heat at a rapid pace. Toward the end of this cycle, in the 1970s, scientists noticed a suspected "global cooling" that was touted as the beginning of a possible Ice Age. But then the AMOC flipped to warming, corresponding to the rapid uptick in global temperatures. Finally, in 1999, the current switched back to a cold, speedy plunge into the ocean depths, taking extra heat along with it.

"The location of Joshua's Ai has been a matter of mystery and controversy since the beginnings of archaeological research in Israel. Scholars have concluded that the location of Joshua's Ai is at et-Tell. They have also used this conclusion to discredit the biblical account of Joshua 7-8 because there is no evidence of occupation at et-Tell durin the time of Joshua. Since 1995, under the direction of ABR Director of Research Bryant G. Wood (PhD, University of Toronto), ABR research and excavation has uncovered important archaeological finds at Khirebet el-Maqatir, just .6 miles west of et-Tell.

The discoveries include

a city gate and wall system,

large amounts of pottery from the time of Joshua,

evidence of destruction by fire,

ancient coins,

a house dating to the first century AD,

and a Byzantine Monastery.

This area is located 9 miles north of Jerusalem. These discoveries provide evidence for a tentative identification of Khirbet el-Maqatir as the biblical city of Ai."

The Associates for Biblical Research (ABR) is a ministry committed to exploring the ancient biblical world

through archaeology.
ABR’s excavation last year proved to be very fruitful, as the team discovered an underground cavern, ruins from an ancient gate, and over 100 coins.
“The coup des grâce came in the form of a tiny object less than three-quarters of an inch long—an Egyptian scarab,” the report states. 
“Our thesis has been that the [Ai] fortress was destroyed in the Late Bronze I period, based on the pottery and other archaeological evidence we have uncovered,” Smith said. “Based on our analysis, the scarab is from the same time period, providing us with a date of occupation independent of the pottery.”

SDA Issues - Peck's Rebellion (Example of "New Theology" Ramifications)

An example of the "New Theology" / "New Adventism" (the church's version of CHEAP GRACE) & where it leads is Pastor Clay Peck & his Grace Place Church.
Pastor Peck was an Adventist minister, caught up in this "New Theology", which undermines true righteousness by faith by disconnecting the Plan of Redemption laid out in the Sanctuary. It disconnects Justification (outer court) & Sanctification (inner court). It's focus is stand in the outer court & cry grace, grace---but never proceeds into the inner court.
Not only is it an assault on true righteousness by faith--it is also an assault on the Laodicean Message for the 7th Church of Revelation. Anyway,

Pastor Peck & his Grace Place, eventually went their separate ways. (Peck was fired). Now they are a Sunday keeping church located under Peck in Colorado. He also preaches for eschatology Amillennialism, which believes the Little Horn of Daniel was Antiochus Epiphanes IV & the Beast of Revelation was Nero.

From their website: "Worship at Grace Place is led by a worship leader along with a talented band, playing a style of music consistent with today's culture."


As for Peck's termination in 1997, he had moved up in a liberal organization out west of Adventists (CAF-Christ Advent Fellowship, then later CAM-Christ Advent Ministries). He was officially fired for not sending tithe to the conference. But he & his followers of several hundred, listed 6 points of conflict to the Rocky Mountain Conference of the time:
1) Last Day Events
2) Role of the SDA Church in prophecy
3) The Investigative Judgment/Sanctuary Doctrine
4) Hermeneutical interpretation
5) The role of the SOP in lifestyle
6) The Sabbath as a seal of God's people after the implementation of the mark of the beast


The very first post-rebellion Sabbath, Peck's flock coughed up $22,000 in donations.
The Adventist Review of the time pointed out the influence of Willow Creek on these breakaway Adventists.
Below is a few points from a post of his (in light pink) & my personal response (in gray) to illustrate where this New Theology" leads to......
"I'm calling this message, "My Journey Out of Legalism." As I thought about that title, it occurred to me that this story is not just a journey OUT of something, but also a journey INTO something." (Into CHEAP GRACE, freedom from the Law of God....but didn't Lucifer yearn for that too?)

(With all due respect--where do you get the notion that dressing modestly or eating healthy is "odd"? -- oh yeah, you wanna be FREE from those "rules")

She was sure she would never be able to be good enough to make it through the time of trouble. " (Serious dude? Really? Well I guess that could be one allure of CHEAP GRACE, if someone actually can't get to sleep over their soul & the time of trouble)
"Religion for me as a young person was Christ -- plus rules." (There it is -freedom from those pesky "RULES" of God that He wrote in stone with His own finger. Also, I'm guessing he also means the dietary things too. Or avoiding the things of the world--gotta have those things & ways of the world to be happy ya know)

 ".......I was preaching "the gospel," because for most Adventists the gospel means Jesus -- plus the Adventist package." (What is the Adventist Package"? Is it the Sabbath? God gave us that--along with the other 9 Commandments. Or that true righteousness by faith is both Justification & Sanctification? God gave us that in the outlay of His plan laid out in the Sanctuary. Do you mean understanding end time events? All churches have an eschatology of some kind--even if it is your Amillennialism you now espouse which is simply putting all prophecies back into the Roman empire & then just wating a couple of thousand years or so for Him to pop in one day)
"Did you notice I used the term "non-Adventist?" That is common language in Adventist circles. I never hear that outside Adventism. Do you ever hear Lutherans talking about reaching "non-Lutherans" or Presbyterians talking about "non-Presbyterian" relatives? I don't." (So? & that's a gripe of yours? & besides, the PCUSA no longer holds to the main tenant of Calvinism-that being predestination. Only the smaller offshoots or individuals do. So there really isn't a huge difference anymore between mainline protestants like the PCUSA or the ELCA. So why would they care about converting the other? As a pastor you should know something about other denominations--just saying dude--come on)

As John tells us - Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3 NLT / See Mr. Peck, one keeps God's Law, not to be saved, but because their heart is right with God. They don't look for excuses to avoid His pesky "rules". Your saved by the Justification in the outer court. But you are judged by your level of Sanctification in the inner court. In other words, what is in your heart?...As for whining about those pesky "rules" of God's, well......we'll leave it here. I think the readers see it now--& why they should avoid your CHEAP GRACE that resulted from the "New Theology"/"New Adventism")
Bottom Line: True Righteousness by Faith means RESTING in the GRACE of His Justification while keeping the REST of His LAW involving Sanctification.

A question to the Sunday keeping Cheap Grace Churches (not all Sunday keeping churches preach cheap grace) & the "New Adventism"/"New Theology" movement within our denomination----

Creation Moment 8/24/2014 - Antony Flew who flew the coop of Atheism

Antony Flew was a leading Atheistic Evolutionist in the 70's & 80's. He turned to deism in the 2000's--for one reason because he couldn't come to  grips with how you get 2 separate, complex, but compatible genders via evolution at the same time.....He also states the following on the resurrection-

It’s outstandingly different in quality and quantity, I think, from the evidence offered for the occurrence of most other supposedly miraculous events.” – Antony Flew (Antony Flew and Gary Habermas, “My Pilgrimage from Atheism To Theism: A Discussion Between Antony Flew and Gary R. Although he never became a theistic Christian--he did advocate in England, just prior to his death, the teaching in the British school system of intelligent design.
At the time, the defection from atheism would be akin today to waking up in the morning & seeing on the news that Richard Dawkins has left atheism.

The SANCTUARY: The 3 bearing record & witness

For there are three that bear record in heaven,

the Father,

the Word,

and the Holy Ghost:

and these three are one.

And there are three that bear witness in earth,

the Spirit,

and the water,

and the blood:

and these three agree in one.

Analysis in light of the Sanctuary:

* The Trinity/Godhead gives themselves a role in each compartment:

Outer Court (Justification) the Son

Inner Court (Sanctification) the Spirit

The Most Holy Place (Glorification if one passes their judgment) the Father

* The plan of Redemption is the outer/inner court that one must pass through before the Judgment in the Most Holy Place. So all 3 have a part in the Justification/Sanctification

process as well if we look closer in detail.

1) Outer Court

a) The Son with His blood sacrifice upon the altar

b) God the Father as the Water which washes away symbolically sin / brazen laver.  He is the one who will use the blood of Christ in the judgment to blot out your sin (wash them away).

2) Inner Court

c) The Spirit through Sanctification (the furniture representing a changed life - altar of incense/prayer, table of bread/study of His Word & 7 branch candlestick/witnessing).

Even here we see more detail in the Inner Court. For here are 3 articles of furniture giving each an even more detailed role. Altar of Incense = Prayer to the Father.... Table of Bread is not just the Bread of His Word, but Christ also referred to himself as the Bread of Life....And then the 7 Branch Candlestick of witnessing by the oil of the Holy Spirit.
