"Pope Francis arrived in Muslim-majority Indonesia on Tuesday to kick off a four-nation tour of the Asia-Pacific that will be the longest and farthest of the 87-year-old's papacy.

The head of the world's 1.3 billion Catholics touched down in Jakarta for a three-day visit devoted to inter-religious ties, and will then travel to Papua New Guinea, East Timor and Singapore.
He disembarked in Jakarta in a wheelchair to an honor guard, greetings by Indonesian officials, including the religious affairs minister, and a traditional bouquet from two children.

The pontiff was then picked up from the red carpet by a civilian Toyota car, choosing a modest vehicle over one of luxury typically used by world leaders. He smiled and waved as he left for the Vatican's diplomatic mission in Jakarta."

"The latest information from the South Pacific Division and the Papua New Guinea Union Mission is that 278,369 people have been baptized so far in “PNG for Christ” with only about 52% of the over 2000 sites reporting……this is a miracle of God!

Many more will be reported. They are being very careful in PNG to instruct people in Bible studies so they understand God’s Holy Word and the gospel message. This is Holy Spirit power being poured out on Papua New Guinea!!!

There are stories of drug lords burning their marijuana crops and being baptized, prisoners responding to calls, whole villages declaring themselves Adventist. Healings and people understanding the gospel presentations in their own languages are additional things that have been reported.

There were more than 200 speakers involved, including Ted Wilson who presented the Revelation of Hope series. 3708 People were baptized during this 16-night program."

"BOGIA (PAPUA NEW GUINEA)...CATHOLIC priest Stannis Tipong Jr, 35, was committed by the Madang District Court to stand trial in the National Court for allegedly sexually harassing and raping four girls aged between 14 and 16.

Senior Magistrate Fredolin Kambibel on Monday found that there was sufficient evidence to commit Tipong, from Bogia’s Aidibal village, to stand trial in the National Court for the alleged charges.

The court heard that between Dec 31, 2018, and July 31, 2019, Tipong, who served in Halopa Catholic Mission as a priest, allegedly sexually harassed and raped the four girls on numerous occasions in his house.

After going through the police file and submissions from Police Prosecutor First Const Eugine Vinai, Tipong was committed to stand trial in the National Court.

According to a police brief, Tipong had allegedly been using force to rape the girls when he invited them to his house to do dishes or cook for him.

Tipong was formally arrested and charged with 10 counts of abuse of trust, authority or dependency under section 229E (1) and one count of sexual penetration of a child under Section 229A (1) (3) of the Criminal Code (Sexual Offences and Crime against Children) Act 2002." TheNational
