Creation Moment 8/7/2025 - Why the Surprise on Witch Hazel Hill
"Spotting nearly flawless spheres on the Martian surface is a rare occurrence for a rover. More than twenty years ago, NASA’s Opportunity rover made headlines after finding hematite-rich spherules (nicknamed “blueberries”) near its landing site in Meridiani Planum.
In an earlier update, the team highlighted Perseverance’s close-up study of a spherule-bearing rock formation at a site called “Hare Bay,” where a core sample was later collected. After adding the “Bell Island” core to its collection, the science team turned its attention to the loose spherules in the surrounding terrain, which seem to have weathered out of nearby rock layers.
Despite their superficial similarity to Opportunity’s “blueberries,” the spherules at “Rowsell Hill” have a very different composition and likely origin.
By comparison, the spherules in “Rowsell Hill” have a basaltic composition and likely formed during a meteoroid impact or volcanic eruption. When a meteoroid crashes into the surface of Mars, it can melt rock and send molten droplets spraying into the air. Those droplets can then rapidly cool, solidifying into spherules that rain down on the surrounding area. Alternatively, the spherules may have formed from molten lava during a volcanic eruption.
If they instead formed during a volcanic eruption, they could preserve clues about past volcanism in the region around Jezero crater."

"Looks like Mars might have had more water than anyone previously imagined.
A sweeping orbital survey charted over 9,320 miles of riverbeds winding etched into Noachis Terra, a broad plateau in the planet’s southern highlands. Searching the fluvial sinuous ridges, also known as inverted channels, what they found suggests that the Red Planetmay once have been much wetter than previously thought.
When water once coursed through these channels, sand and gravel settled onto the bed. Minerals bound the deposits into concrete-hard caps. Wind later scoured away softer surroundings, leaving the inverted relief that orbiters see today. Some ridges run for hundreds of kilometers without a break, while isolated fragments dot adjoining basins — clues that an entire drainage network once laced the landscape."

"Scientists have uncovered a seismic signature beneath Mars’ surfacethat hints at something astonishing—liquid water may still exist in the planet’s upper crust....Liquid water.... Long ago, Mars had plenty of it—especially during its early Noachian and Hesperian periods.
Their analysis revealed something remarkable—a zone 5.4 to 8 kilometers deep where seismic waves slowed down significantly. This slowdown could mean the presence of liquid water at the base of Mars’ upper crust."

Creation Moment 6/18/2022 - WRONG AGAIN
How devastating is this anomaly? Is it just a one-off measurement that still fits the secular paradigm of planet formation? If Mars completed its growth when the solar nebula was still intact, the sun should have blown off the nebula, and Mars’ early atmosphere with it.Surprisingly, the krypton isotopes in the meteorite correspond to those originating from meteorites, not the solar nebula. That means that meteorites were delivering volatile elements to the forming planet much earlier than previously thought, and in the presence of the nebula, reversing conventional thinking.

Creation Moment 3/14/2021 - Another Blow to Martian Life Evolutionary Theory
"In 1996, a rock that was thought to have somehow made its way to Earth from Mars was a media sensation as news outlets proclaimed “Life on Mars!” A microtubule or filament-like structure was
thought to be the fossilized remains of some sort of primitive life. That’s because it was similar to alleged fossils on Earth that were claimed to be 4 billion years old.Now a team from the University of Edinburgh has created similar-type structures in the lab that closely mimic the alleged Earth/life-on-Mars structures. They did this by mixing iron-rich particles with alkaline solutions that contained silicates or carbonates.
Researcher McMahon said, “These results call for a re-examination of
many ancient real-world examples to see if they are more likely to be
fossils or non-biological mineral deposits.” Of course, we agree.
Indeed, if many of these ‘ancient-life’ examples turn out to be nothing
of the sort, then it would be a serious dent for the idea of evolution

"Mars may once have had an ocean – but only for a geological
blink of an eye, which puts a dampener on ideas that there is or was life on the Red Planet. That’s according to a new theory put forward by Tim Parker of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Signs that Mars was once rife with water litter the present-day surface, with numerous geological features that are difficult to explain if it was always the dry, dusty locale we see today.
The trouble is that models of the ancient Mars climate struggle to match the conditions necessary to keep liquid water on the surface, which would require a thicker atmosphere. This atmosphere must have somehow been rapidly lost to leave Mars as we see it today."
