Picture of the Buddha: So, So Sad.....

When I read this description of the Buddha, the picture in my mind was so, so sad.....picture the Buddha in the description below and remember what Scripture says:

Of people like the Buddha--
Ever learning
and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2 Timothy 3:7
In contrast to what the Buddha put himself through in a never ending quest for "wisdom" and "knowledge" God says instead:
Beloved,
I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper
and be in health
even as thy soul prospereth
3 John 1:2
All that self inflicted suffering in the quest for wisdom, a waste of his life, to only die and return to dust like everyone else....no rebirth despite what he thinks and no release into Nirvana despite the tricks his tortured body and mind envisioned. So, so sad....

A description from the Buddha's Wisdom:
"A man is starving beside a river
--because he is afraid of pleasure.
--His name is Siddhārtha Gautama (the Buddha).
--For years he has pushed his body toward death in search of awakening the early discourses describe him touching his stomach and feeling his spine they describe the pressure roaring in his ears as he suppresses his breath.
--Another account remembers periods when he survived on a single
grain of r
ice.
--He has mastered the highest meditative attainments..... none of them set him free now at the edge of collapse....continues past the rose apple memory he ate he recovered his strength he sat beneath a tree at Uruvelā and in the account ascended four stages through the night... the room behind that door the two roads Siddhārtha had followed demanded ever more mastery more deprivation...."
