"Paul Crouch, co-founder of the popular Trinity Broadcasting Network, has passed away at age 79. Crouch had suffered for more than a decade with chronic heart problems.
Crouch and his wife, Jan, founded TBN in 1973, and the next year purchased the network's first station, KTBN-TV 40 in Southern California. It grew to become the most watched faith network in the country and the seventh largest owner of broadcast TV stations.

It should be noted that Mr. Crouch was an example of everything wrong today in "Christian" broadcasting. He airs shows that have NO business on a Christian network-and he sells out for the money. He was documented by the LA Times to have had an affair with a male employee whom he had paid $425,000 in hush money. Then the man decided to become un-hushed and demanded millions. Crouch and his wife were split up-he living there in California & his wife out in Florida. She would have to fly back & forth and put on a show as if all was well between them and appear on the show. He threatened to cut off her money if she didn't. Also, his granddaughter, Brittany Koper, sued him in 2012 for getting fired after she blew the whistle on his illegal financial schemes and accused the family of a slush fund they were illegally funneling money into from their donations.
In another case in court-testimony was given by another granddaughter as to being raped at 13 and Crouch's covered it up for protection of the TBN image.
Then of course there was the Haiti debacle when the Crouch's cut off their promised funds for a children's hospital when they were told about what one of their TBN "missionaries" was making gay advances on some of the Haitian boys. Rather than investigate, and terminate the employment of the accused if true-they withheld the rest of the money from the hospital.
