Creation Moment 9/5/2016 - Nietzsche rejected Darwinism

For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written, ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart’. 1 Corinthians 1:18–19

"Nietzsche proclaimed the death of God in The Gay Science by a parable about a madman with a lantern, looking for God, only to have his fellow citizens ridicule it:
“The madman jumped into their midst and pierced them with his eyes. ‘Whither is God?’ he cried; ‘I will tell you. We have killed him—you and I. All of us are his murderers. … God is dead. … And we have killed him.’”
Nietzsche then explained that what he meant was: “the belief in the Christian god has become unbelievable”. His motive appears to have been to counteract the concept of future judgment—by announcing the death of the Judge! He wrote: “We deny God; in denying God we deny accountability.”

In place of God, Nietzsche put forward his Superhuman, (German Übermensch), an imaginary, super-strong, amoral individual, who would overcome all opposition, as well as the need for God—because in Nietzsche’s view, God was an illusion of the mind.

In The Anti-Christ, Nietzsche unleashed a torrent of abuse at God and the Genesis account of creation: “God’s first blunder: man did not find the animals entertaining—he dominated them, he did not even want to be an ‘animal’.—Consequently God created woman. And then indeed there was an end to boredom but also to something else! Woman was God’s second blunder.—‘Woman is in her essence serpent, Heva—every priest knows that, every evil comes into the world through woman’ … .”

Nietzsche writing in Thus Spake Zarathustra: “You [mankind] have made your way from worm to human, and much in you is still worm. Once you were apes, and even now the human being is still more of an ape than any ape is.”

Nietzsche said Darwin was wrong in four fundamental aspects of his theory.

1. Small changes could not produce new organs.

He realized that a partly formed organ was of no survival value

2. The weak outlast the strong.
“Anti-Darwin.—As regards the celebrated ‘struggle for life’, … where there is struggle it is a struggle for power … its outcome is the reverse of that desired by the school of Darwin … the weaker dominate the strong again and again—the reason being they are the great majority, and they are also cleverer. … Darwin forgot the mind.”
3. Sexual selection not normal.
Nietzsche wrote of Darwin’s notion:
“Anti-Darwin … We almost always see males and females take advantage of any chance encounter, exhibiting no selectivity whatsoever.”
 4. Transitional forms absent.
Nietzsche wrote:
“There are no transitional forms. … Primitive creatures are said to be the ancestors of those now existing. But a look at the fauna and flora of the Tertiary merely permits us to think of an as yet unexplored country that harbors types that do not exist elsewhere, while those existing elsewhere are missing.”  [“Tertiary” refers to one of the divisions of the ‘geologic column’, ‘dated’ after the dinosaur extinction, with its implied acceptance of vast ages of pre-human history.]
 Nietzsche, Darwin and Hitler
The supreme modern example of Nietzsche’s ‘Superhuman’, the strong man who lived by his own morality and vanquished all opposition, was Adolf Hitler. Hitler embraced both Darwinism and Nietzschean philosophy. For him, the Darwinian notion of the strong dominating the weak, was the highest good. At the same time, he considered himself to be the ‘superman’ of Nietzsche’s philosophy, and he also applied Nietzsche’s idea of superior individuals in seeking to persuade the German people that collectively they were the ‘master race’.

Hitler carried the ideas of Darwin and Nietzsche to a logical conclusion—an atheistic morality that resulted in the pillaging of Europe and the murder of over six million innocent civilians in the Holocaust.

Nietzsche shook his fist at God,
but Nietzsche is dead and God is not."

Papal Notes - Yale on Papal GREENing

"On September 24, 2015, Pope Francis spoke to a joint session of the U.S. Congress and the following day he addressed the U.N. General Assembly to highlight the urgent need for climate change action, sustainable development, and “ecological conversion.” He was speaking not just to Catholics, but also to all people on the planet. It was at the conclusion of his talk at the U.N. that the new Sustainable Development Goals were unanimously passed by 195 nations. The pope’s moral influence was also present at the COP21 negotiations in Paris where climate justice was a major theme in the discussions. A high-level panel on the Encyclical was held on December 7, 2015, at Notre Dame Cathedral during the U.N. negotiations.

Indeed, it issues a clarion call for awakening to our planetary crisis—not just among 2 billion Christians, but among other religious groups as well. There are more than a billion Muslims, a billion Hindus, a billion Confucians, and nearly 500 million Buddhists, many of whom are hearing this urgent call for change. There

have already been statements of support for the Encyclical from Jewish and Muslim leaders, as well as Hindus and Buddhists.

Pope Francis .... following St. Francis of Assisi, he invokes “Mother Earth” in the opening paragraph of the Encyclical. This is a perspective much more familiar to Latin American Catholics.
His evocation of the Canticle of the Sun

similarly places the Encyclical

precisely in the tradition of Franciscan nature mysticism.

It is not only awe and wonder and EVOLUTION  that Pope Francis draws on. He also shifts the Church to a view of nature in line with environmental science." YaleUniversity
Well, well, well,.....IF you follow evolutionary thinking, then the 7th Day SABBATH loses all meaning out of the context of Creation---hence it becomes easier to justify the venerable day of the sun as a counterfeit Sabbath....you know what I'm saying?...
And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.
Revelation 16:2

Who wrote the Psalms?

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Psalm 1:1

When look up a Psalm in your Bible,
you’ll usually see something like this:

While the italic headings in this example were added long after Psalms was written, the line, “A Psalm of David” was actually written in the Hebrew manuscripts. It’s kind of like the hymnals you find in churches—they give you the song’s title and the name of the guy or lady who wrote it.
The Psalms name more than seven authors, including five individuals and two families (who wrote psalms over the centuries). Here’s the spread:
  • David: the God-anointed king of Israel.
  • Asaph (the family): Asaph and his sons were ordained by David to lead the people in worship, and were recommissioned when Nehemiah rebuilt Jerusalem.
  • The sons of Korah (another family): back in the book of Numbers, a man named Korah rebelled against Moses and Aaron—and God caused the earth to swallow him up. His sons survived, though (Nu 26:11), and continued to serve in the house of the Lord.
  • Heman: He was a wise man who co-authored the eighty-eighth psalm with the sons of Korah. His brother Ethan (1 Ch 2:6) wrote a psalm, too.
  • Solomon: this king is better known for his work in Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon. He’s David’s son, and inherits his father’s throne.
  • Moses: he wrote more words in your Bible than any other human. Moses also wrote a psalm.
  • Ethan the Ezrahite: we don’t know much about Ethan, except that he was a famous wise man. So famously wise, in fact, that the Bible makes a point to tell us Solomon was even wiser (1 Ki 4:31).
The remaining 50 “orphan psalms” aren’t credited to any one author. One nameless nobody could have written all 50, but there’s a better chance that they were written by many people over many years.

So we know David wrote the most of the psalms—73 that we’re sure of. These ones are his, specifically:
  • Psalms 3–9
  • Psalms 11–41
  • Psalms 51–65
  • Psalms 68–70
  • Psalm 86
  • Psalm 101
  • Psalm 103
  • Psalms 108–110
  • Psalm 122
  • Psalm 124
  • Psalm 131
  • Psalm 133
  • Psalms 138–1The family of Asaph wrote 12 psalms:
    • Psalm 50
    • Psalms 73–83
The sons of Korah wrote 11 psalms:
    • Psalm 42
    • Psalms 44–49
    • Psalms 84–85
    • Psalms 87-88
Heman the Ezrahite coauthored Psalm 88 with the sons of Korah.
Solomon wrote two psalms:

  • Psalm 72
  • Psalm 127
Moses wrote Psalm 90.
Ethan the Ezrahite wrote Psalm 89.

Creation Moment 9/4/2016 - Radiometric dating relies on ASSUMPTIONS

Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?
    declare, if thou hast understanding.
    Job 38:4
"Radiometric dating relies on three unprovable assumptions about the past:
    1. The amount of ‘daughter’ isotope in the rock at the start is known.
    2. No loss of ‘parent’ or gain of ‘daughter’ since the rock formed (closed system conditions).
    3. Constant decay rate of ‘parent’ to ‘daughter’.
If these conditions could be guaranteed, the radiometric dating method would be correct. However, unless eye–witnesses observed the rock when it formed, and checked it constantly thereafter, it is impossible to guarantee that these assumptions are correct. Indeed, there are many cases in the
scientific literature where assumptions one and two, though made in good faith, have been shown to be unreliable.
Constancy of decay rate (assumption three) implies that a parameter which scientists have been measuring for only a century has been constant for millions of alleged years of Earth’s history. This is of course not only unproven but also unprovable. Decay rates (which can vary greatly today under special conditions) may have been much faster in the past; evidence suggesting this is now being analyzed by a creationist consortium. A good summary of the documented inconsistencies and inaccuracies of radiometric dating is given by Woodmorappe." CMI

Health Note - 11 Reasons to eat that Banana today

    Beloved,
I wish above all things that thou mayest ....be in health, ...
    3 John 1:2

    1. Bananas Contain Many Important Nutrients
Bananas contain a fair amount of fiber, as well as several antioxidants. One medium-sized banana (118 grams) also contains:
    • Potassium: 9% of the RDI.
    • Vitamin B6: 33% of the RDI.
    • Vitamin C: 11% of the RDI.
    • Magnesium: 8% of the RDI.
    • Copper: 10% of the RDI.
    • Manganese: 14% of the RDI.
    • Net carbs: 24 grams.
    • Fiber: 3.1 grams.
    • Protein: 1.3 grams.
    • Fat: 0.4 grams.
Each banana contains only about 105 calories, and consists almost exclusively of water and carb. Bananas contain very little protein and almost no fat.
    2. Bananas Contain Nutrients That Moderate Blood Sugar Levels
Bananas are rich in a fiber called pectin, which gives the flesh its structural form.
Unripe bananas contain resistant starch, which acts like soluble fiber and escapes digestion.
Both pectin and resistant starch may moderate blood sugar levels after meals, and reduce appetite by slowing stomach emptying.
    3. Bananas May Improve Digestive Health

Dietary fiber has been linked to many health benefits, including improved digestion.
A medium-sized banana contains about 3 grams of fiber, making bananas a fairly good fiber source.
Bananas contain mainly two types of fiber:
    • Pectin: Decreases as the banana ripens.
    • Resistant starch: Found in unripe bananas.
Resistant starch escapes digestion and ends up in our large intestine, where it becomes food for the beneficial gut bacteria.
Bananas are fairly rich in fiber and resistant starch, which may feed the friendly gut bacteria and help protect against colon cancer.
    4. Bananas May Help With Weight Loss
For starters, bananas contain relatively few calories. An average banana contains just over 100 calories, yet it is also very nutritious and filling.
They are also rich in fiber. Eating more fiber from fruit and vegetables has repeatedly been linked with lower body weight and weight loss.
    5. Bananas May Support Heart Health
Potassium is a mineral that is essential for heart health, especially blood pressure control.

Bananas are a great dietary source of potassium.
Furthermore, bananas contain a decent amount of magnesium, which is also important for heart health.
    6. Bananas Contain Powerful Antioxidants
They contain several types of potent antioxidants, including dopamine and catechins.
These antioxidants have been linked to many health benefits, such as a reduced risk of heart disease and degenerative diseases.
    7. Bananas May Help You Feel More Full
Resistant starch is a type of indigestible carbohydrate found in unripe bananas, which functions sort
of like soluble fiber in the body.
As a rule of thumb, you can estimate that the greener the banana is, the higher the amount of resistant starch it contains.
    8. Unripe Bananas May Improve Insulin Sensitivity
Insulin resistance is a major risk factor for many of the world’s most serious diseases, including type 2 diabetes.
Several studies have shown that 15–30 grams of resistant starch per day may improve insulin sensitivity by 33–50%, in as little as 4 weeks
    9. Bananas May Improve Kidney Health
Potassium is essential for blood pressure control and healthy kidney function.
As a good dietary source of potassium, bananas may be especially beneficial for maintaining healthy kidneys.
One study in women showed that over 13 years, those who ate bananas 2–3 times per week were 33% less likely to develop kidney disease.
    10. Bananas May Have Benefits for Exercise
Bananas are often referred to as the perfect food for athletes, largely due to their mineral content and easily digested carbs.
Eating bananas may help reduce exercise-related muscle cramps and soreness, which affect up to 95% of the general population.
The reason for the cramps is basically unknown, but a popular theory blames a mixture of dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
    11. Bananas Are Easy to Add to Your Diet
Not only are bananas incredibly healthy — they’re also one of the most convenient snack foods around.
Furthermore, bananas rarely contain any pesticides or pollutants, due to their thick protective peel.

U Don't Wanna Be This SILVER

    Rejected silver they are called,
for the LORD has rejected them.
    Jeremiah 6:30 ESV
    Matthew Henry's Commentary:
"6:18-30 God rejects their outward services, as worthless to atone for their sins. Sacrifice and incense were to direct them to a
Mediator; but when offered to purchase a license to go on in sin, they provoke God. The sins of God's professing people make them an easy prey to their enemies.
Sinners soon become tempters. They are compared to ore supposed to have good metal in it, but which proves all dross. Nothing will prevail to part between them and their sins. Reprobate silver shall they be called, useless and worthless. When warnings, corrections, rebukes, and all means of grace, leave men unrenewed, they will be left, as rejected of God, to everlasting misery. Let us pray, then, that we may be refined by the Lord, as silver is refined."

    Papal Notes - Eco-Idolatry

Below, Pope Francis engages in ECO-IDOLATRY, as he promotes the earth to the level of God. For we SIN against God by breaking HIS LAW. But, the Pope seems to think we SIN against the Creation too. Elevating "mother earth" to the level of Father God.....the Pope also buys into the radical, extremist talking points of the environmental left.
Q: Will the Mark-of-the-Beast (counterfeit Sabbath) be a GREEN SABBATH? Will that be how they get the whole world to eventually co-operate?

"Insisting that environmental damage such as global warming amounts to a sin against creation, Pope Francis on Thursday once again called on Christians to join forces to protect the earth on what’s ecumenically designated as the “World Day of Prayer for Creation.”
“To commit a crime against the natural world is a sin against ourselves and a sin against God,” the pope writes, quoting an address the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew gave in Santa Barbara, California, back in 1997.
Francis has long shared the interest for protecting the planet with Bartholomew.
In a message released by the Vatican on Thursday, Francis pointed out the “sins” against creation, which include humans destroying the ecosystem and degrading the integrity of the earth by causing changes in its climate, and the contamination of the earth’s waters, land, air, and life.
Keeping in mind both the Holy Year of Mercy and prayer day for creation, celebrated on Sept. 1,..
The pope’s message titled “Show Mercy to our Common Home” is divided into five sections, and it’s largely an appeal for “people of faith and goodwill” to come together in “showing mercy to the earth as our common home and cherishing the world in which we live as a place for sharing and communion.”
Francis also calls for the Jubilee of Mercy to summon in the faithful to a “profound interior conversion,” sustained by the sacrament of Confession, writing that after a “serious examination of conscience” Catholics can confess their sins against God and his creation.
Quoting his own Laudato Si’, something he does often in Thursday’s message, the pontiff gives several suggestions: “Avoiding the use of plastic and paper, reducing water consumption, separating
refuse, cooking only what can reasonably be consumed, showing care for other living beings, using public transport or car-pooling, planting trees, turning off unnecessary lights, or any number of other practices.”
Turkson suggested, among other things, that Christians should use their purchasing power to boycott certain companies or products until they rethink their environmental footprint." CRUX

Creation Moment 9/3/2016 - Creation in Amos

It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven,
    and hath founded his troop in the earth;
he that calleth for the waters of the sea,
and poureth them out upon the face of the earth:
    The LORD is his name.
    Amos 9:6
"Amos. Creation in Amos is an analogy of history, presenting Yahweh as Creator
continuously interacting with His creation, and more specifically in this prophetic book, in a context of threatening judgment but also salvation. Creation terminology appears predominantly in the three hymns (Amos 4:13; 5:8, 9; 9:5, 6) that have a structuring influence in the overall outlay of the book.
Creation language is predominant in these five verses, and a number of lexical creation markers appear: “to create,” “to form,” and “to make.” Interestingly, all these markers are participles, a syntactic peculiarity that can be found throughout the Book of Amos.

The startling aspect of Amos’s presentation of creation is that it is intrinsically linked to judgment, almost in such a way that creation forms the explanation for destruction. What starts as a hymn of praise for Yahweh the Creator becomes a threatening description of Yahweh the Judge.

To accept Yahweh as the Creator also implies the acceptance of His power to de-create. On first sight, creation used in this way, is disassociated from salvation, but when judgment is understood as preliminary and partial to salvation, than de-creation becomes a necessary precursor for re-creation. Amos drives this point home by the formulaic usage of the expression “the Lord is his name” (Amos 4:13; 5:8; 9:6), indicating that this is also and remains to be God, He “is not only the God who creates, but He also destroys.”

The Book of Amos concludes with a glorious perspective on restoration after judgment (9:11-15) introduced by the eschatological charged phrase “on that day.” The passage alludes to the creation theme by employing building terminology (“to build,” vss. 11, 14) and the metaphor of Yahweh as King. Thus within the theological thinking of Amos, the correct understanding of creation becomes a prerequisite to the comprehension of re-creation."

Why the Sky has no visible Column to uphold it

On mine arm shall they trust.
      Isaiah 51:5
    "In seasons of severe trial,
the Christian has nothing on earth that he can trust to,
and is therefore compelled to cast himself on his God alone.

Happy storm that wrecks a man on such a rock as this!

O blessed hurricane that drives the soul to God and God alone!

     Oh, tempest-tossed believer,
it is a happy trouble that drives thee to thy Father!

    Dishonour not thy Lord and Master by unworthy doubts and fears;
The grandeur of the arch of heaven would be spoiled if the sky were supported by a single visible column, and your faith would lose its glory if it rested on anything discernible by the carnal eye."
    Charles Spurgeon

Papal Notes - Guardini, Guru of Francis

"Pope Francis asks that today be set aside for prayer for the natural world, joining with Christians on the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. The case for praying to reconnect with the earth is made in a 1950 book deeply influential on Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’.
Pope Francis now asks that every September 1st we set aside time to pray for creation at the start of a month-long ‘Season of Creation,’ ending on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi on October 4.
The Global Catholic Climate Movement suggests one of the prayers in Francis’ eco-enyclical Laudato Si’ - ‘A Prayer for Our Earth’, say - or St Francis’ Canticle of the Creatures.
Saving creation feels much more like something we do.
But read one of Pope Francis’ gurus, and the invitation becomes more compelling.
....the most frequently cited source in Laudato Si’, and specifically the Italian-born German thinker’s prophetic 1950 book The End of the Modern World.
Over many years vacationing in the early twentieth century on the shores of Lake Como, Guardini observed how the forms of houses become more angular and aggressive in relation to their surroundings. He detected the emergence of a new mentality that he called the ‘technocratic paradigm,’ one that sees nature as passive matter or an object to be manipulated.
Long before the term became fashionable, Guardini foresaw a new post-modern era in which the peoples of the world would become ever less differentiated and ever more conditioned by the state and by technology.
As man came to dominate nature, and religion lost its cultural hold, the influences of tribe and family and social class would fade, and humanity would look ever more like a “formless mass to be organized.”
But then, in the post-modern era, there would be a recovery.
Guardini looked to the emergence of a great leader, one “who alone can save our age from
going down in violence and chaos,” a human architect of a new emergent world.
As a description of Pope Francis, that’s not bad." CRUX

    Sabbath Debate SIMPLIFIED
[[A Psalm or Song for the sabbath day.]]
--It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD,
and to sing praises unto thy name,
    O most High:
--To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning,
    and thy faithfulness every night,
--Upon an instrument of ten strings,
    and upon the psaltery;
upon the harp with a solemn sound.
    --O LORD,
    how great are thy works!
and thy thoughts are very deep.
    Psalm 91:1-3,5

Melt as WAX of the FIRE

All the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.
     Ezekiel 3:7
    "Are there no exceptions?
    No, not one.

Come, my heart, consider how far thou hast a share in this universal accusation, and while considering, be ready to take shame unto thyself herein thou mayst have been guilty.

The first charge is impudence, or hardness of forehead, a want of holy shame, an unhallowed boldness in evil.
Woe is me, I am one of the impudent house of Israel.

The second charge is hardheartedness, ...Once I had nothing but a heart of stone, and although through grace I now have a new and fleshy heart, .....
    *I am not affected by the death of Jesus as I ought to be;
*neither am I moved by the ruin of my fellow men,
    *the wickedness of the times,
*the chastisement of my heavenly Father,
    *and my own failures,
    as I should be.

Blessed be the name of the Lord, the disease is not incurable, the Savior's precious blood is the universal solvent, and me, even me, it will effectually soften, till my heart melts as wax before the fire."
    Charles Spurgeon

Creation Moment 9/1/2016 - God's Abacus of DESIGN

These see the works of the LORD,
    Psalm 107:24
"Where do physical traits such as height and eye color come from? Biologists say these characteristics are phenotypic (physical) expressions of the genotype—the genetic code.
The case for creation can be seen in this amazing genetic code of life.
The human body’s trillions of cells use over 75 special kinds of protein and RNA molecules to make one protein following DNA’s detailed instructions. A second genetic code has recently been discovered, adding to the complexity of the already intricate molecule of heredity.

What was the origin of this code?
Was it through chance and time (evolution)
    or design and organization (creation)?

Evolutionary scientists cannot agree on their theories of the origin of the genetic code. Adam Kun et
al stated, “The origin of the genetic code is still not fully understood, despite considerable progress in the last decade.” In 2008, an evolutionist from Kazakhstan, Vladimir shCherbak, published a paper asserting the strange idea of an arithmetical origin of the genetic code. Arithmetic is the science of computing and is the oldest, most elementary branch of the larger field of mathematics. Roman arithmetic required the use of a counting board, the ancestor of the abacus. shCherbak suggested that a primeval counting frame was responsible for the origin of the genetic code.

He claimed the genetic code contains “the zero, decimal syntax and unique summations” and that this refutes “traditional ideas about the stochastic origin of the genetic code.” Atheist David Berlinski reminds us that “evolution is a stochastic process [developing in a statistically random way], one that moves forward by means of inconclusive humps.” shCherbak continued:
Chemical evolution, no matter how long it took, could not possibly have stumbled on the arithmetical language and initialized the decimalization of the genetic code. Physics and chemistry can neither make such abstractions nor fit the genetic code out with them. It seems that the genetic code appeared as pure information like arithmetic did.

shCherbak is correct; chemical evolution, chemistry, and physics utterly fail to explain in any way the origin of the genetic code. Sadly, his explanation of this code’s appearance via arithmetic through “some primordial abacus at least three and a half billion years ago” is hardly scientific or satisfying.
“While the biochemical details of this code were unraveled long ago, its origin is still obscure,” lamented evolutionist Tsvi Tlusty.

Secular explanations for the origin of the sophisticated genetic code point to either the unknown or something like a “primordial abacus.” The only other alternative is a supernatural agency. The genetic code is the result of the purposeful arrangement of parts—design, implying a Designer, as Genesis clearly portrays."

    Puritan Corner - Christ's Prayer

"Many shepherds scarcely pray for themselves. Christ prays for all His elect sheep. John 17:9, “I will pray for them.” As Christ knows every sheep by name—so Christ prays for every sheep by name. “I pray for them.” And what does Christ pray for them? Why, He prays that they may not wander, that they may not tire or faint, that they may not die along the way. And this is Christ’s prayer for His sheep..."
    by Thomas Watson (1620-1686)

I pray for them: I pray not for the world,
but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
    John 17:9
