TV evangelist Joseph Prince seems to have contempt for the Law of God. He is also of the mindset that before the cross they were saved by keeping the Law-after the cross we are saved by Grace.WRONG. We are always saved by Grace and never by keeping the Law-before or after the cross. But Grace does not negate the Law. The two work hand-in-hand.
1) If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15 Notice He didn't say "keep My commandments" but rather to keep them if you love Him.That should be enough for any Christian.
2) For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 1 John 5:3 We keep the commandments...not because it will save us-but rather because our hearts are right with God. It's that faith & works thing James talks of. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:10,11,17,22,26
3) How is the Remnant identified? And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, Revelation 12:17 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, Revelation 14:2
4) What is the test of a true prophet? To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Isaiah 8:20
5) Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Matthew 5:17 Christ came to fullfill the Law and explain it. Why would He waste His time explaining the Law if in a matter of years or even months, it was to be done away with? Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:27,28 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment:Matthew 5:21,22
