A.D. 508 Clovis was baptized and crowned king of Gaul (Francia or today France). The first "Catholic" king since the fall of the western Roman Empire. He adopted the breviary of Alaric, which stated that through all the land it was to be posted and enforced--that the Catholic church would be the only religion allowed. Punishments for violations would be left up to the local Catholic bishops. The Roman Catholic Church and its trampling on the sanctuary of God was set up.1) And arms shall stand on his part, (Military might of Clovis)
2) and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, (Substitution of the heavenly sanctuary with Mass, Last rights, Confessions to Priests, etc.)
3) and shall take away the daily sacrifice, (See #2)
4) and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate. (Did Papal Rome make the land desolate? Ever heard of the Reformation , Crusades and Inquisitions?)Daniel 11:31
This would last 1290 years. A.D. 508 + 1290 years takes one to A.D. 1798-the year the 1260 days/years came to an end and the beast recieved its deadly wound (To be healed though) when French general Berthier took the Pope prisoner.Interesting it would be the French who propped up Papal Rome and the French who delivered the deadly wound.
