Papal Notes - Eco-Cosmic Christ Controversy

"Pierre Teilhard de Chardin was a French Jesuit and paleontologist who died a church outcast in New York City in 1955 at age 74. Vatican officials had suppressed his writings on sequential evolution in the universe.

A decade later after his death, Teilhard’s books were being taught in Jesuit schools. Today he has a global reputation on evolution and spirituality.

Long before the internet, Teilhard wrote of an emergent planetary consciousness as a scientific development. He also wrote of this “noosphere” in mystical terms, as mankind’s quest for closeness with the divine. And he sounded prescient notes of warning.
There is a danger that the elements of the world should refuse to serve the world,” he wrote in The Phenomenon of Man, published in 1957. “What is forming and growing is nothing less than an organic crisis in evolution.”

Pope Francis sounded a lot like his fellow Jesuit at a May 21 general audience. “Creation is a gift,” he told 50,000 people at St. Peter’s Square, “that God has given us, so that we care for it and we use it for the benefit of all.”
We are custodians of creation, not masters of creation,” the pope continued. His sermon

would well fit an anthology on conscious evolution, a school of thought that bridges science and faith in arguing that humanity has an urgent moral duty for care of the planet.

Francis’s remarks came two weeks after Cardinal Gerhard Müller, head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, issued a rebuke of Leadership Conference of Women Religious, representing most of America’s 57,000 nuns, for their promotion of conscious evolution.

How did a movement of theology and nature go so terribly wrong?
Either Muller doesn’t understand what conscious evolution means,” Margaret Susan Thompson, a Syracuse University scholar on religious life told GlobalPost,....

For me, the most vital source of meaning of conscious evolution is the Catholic understanding of God and Christ as the source of evolution, as its driving force as well as its direction,” said Hubbard.
Through science, research, technology communications and virtually every other area of human activity, we are weaving a delicate membrane of consciousness, what Teilhard called the ‘noosphere’ or the thinking layer of Earth that is embracing and drawing into itself the entire planet.”

Teilhard, who died before climate change became an issue, saw the noosphere in a mystical light, a reach closer to God.

Father Berry wrote with a lyrical sensibility, setting what he called deep ecology in a thematic line with Dante and early mystic saints, notably Francis of Assisi and Hildegard of Bingen.
In The Dream of the Earth (1988) Berry called for “a spiritual context to the ecological age” and bemoaned society’s “neglect of faith in favor of reason, its exaltation of technology as the instrument for the conquest of nature.”

Theology cannot continue to develop apart from 21st-century cosmology and ecology, nor can science substitute for religion, “ Franciscan Sister Ilia Delio, a research theologian at Georgetown University wrote in a 2011 essay for America Magazine.
Both the light of faith and the insights of science can help humanity evolve toward a more sustainable future.”

As the standoff between the Vatican doctrinal office and LCWR deepens, the sisters’ leadership has chosen a path of silence — self-muzzling —apparently to avoid the risk of more punishment.

Müller did not give a considered response to conscious evolution,” Sister Christine Schenk of Cleveland, who is writing a book on women in the early church, told GlobalPost.
To me, he clearly has not engaged the deep strand of theological reflection from Thomas Berry and Teilhard. It’s not lightweight stuff; there’s a lot of science involved. Why is this an issue?”
The LCWR conferences are not presented as official teachings of the Catholic Church — another source of conflict with the bishops.

The nuns are trying to engage the world as it is,” says Schenk. “How do we live the gospel in the midst of an evolving universe? These are important questions that need to be engaged by anyone curious about the gospel.” MintPressNews

Creation Moment 11/11/2014 -NFL "Evolution" debate

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:
Romans 8:7
"Former football great Kurt Warner is catching heat over an analogy he made about the theory of
evolution and the development of NFL quarterbacks during a television appearance on Sunday.
Warner, a Christian, was delivering his “NFL Game Day” segment on the NFL Network when he mixed together evolutionary theory and his take on Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s adaptation to NFL defenses, as Deadspin reported.
I’m not fully buying the evolutionary theory where one species transforms into another,” he said. “But if we’re talking about the idea that every species has the ability to adapt over time, well then I’m all in. As a matter of fact, I’ve actually seen this happen in a group I’ve been studying for years: NFL quarterbacks.”
He then proceeded to discuss Roethlisberger’s performance on the field.

Reaction to Warner’s analogy has been swift and tough. Consider one Deadspin commenter who wrote, “People who believe in creationism should just be lined up and shot for being too stupid to live, and too dangerous to have walking around in society.”
Another individual named Rusty Hardin wrote, “Didn’t [K]urt Warner have a ton of concussions in his career? Why do people inject their stupid religious beliefs in their commentary.”
Warner defended his views on Twitter, though, where other critics hit back at him and he responded accordingly. Here are some of his tweets:

And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
John 10:22
The menorah has 9 rather than the 7 candles used in the Sanctuary
NOTES:
The Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah) came about during the Greek inter-testament period. It was to celebrate the victory of the Maccabees over the Greek Antiochus Epiphanes who had closed the temple and forced pig sacrifices. Hanukkah is also known as the "Feast of Lights" because it is said a miracle occurred as it relates to the oil of the Sanctuary. There was only enough for one day, and supposedly, it kept burning for 8 days - the time for it to be purified.
The "Dedication" part has to do with re-dedicating the re-opened temple.
Also, since Hanukkah is close to the Christian "Christmas" holiday, Jews today give presents.
Jews read a different part of Numbers 7 in the synagogue on Hanukkah.
2015-December 7
2016-December 25 (well how about that?)
2017-December 13
2018-December 3
.....it was dedicated anew, with singing of hymns, and music of harp, zither and cymbals. Thereupon all the people fell down face to earth, to adore and praise, high as heaven, the author of their felicity; and for eight days together they celebrated the altar’s renewal, burned victim and brought welcome-offering with glad and grateful hearts. They decked the front wall of the temple, at this time, with gold crowns and escutcheons, consecrated the gates and the priest’s lodging anew, and furnished it with doors; and all the while there was great rejoicing among the people; as for the taunts of the heathen, they were heard no more.
1 Maccabees 4:54-58
P.S.-1 Maccabees tells the story of what happened...it is NOT quoted here as Scripture--but rather as "history".

ARCHAEOLOGY: Messel Pit

"20 minutes from the city of Darmstadt in central Germany is a decommissioned strip mine half a
mile wide.

A gaping 200-foot-deep gouge in the forested countryside, the Messel Pit...
The world was a very different place then, during the period known to scientists as the Eocene. The levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere were higher than today (at least, for the time being), producing a greenhouse effect of soaring temperatures.
Decaying animal and vegetable material buried and squeezed under tremendous pressure over years yields, every school kid knows, fossil fuel, in this instance primarily oil shale—layers of soft gray stone impregnated with oil. Those deposits attracted miners from the late 1800s to the 1970s,
when the open-pit mine closed down and was forgotten by all but a small group of people bent on extracting not the fuel but the fossils.
At Messel Pit, mammal skeletons galore are preserved intact, often with the outlines of fur and flesh still visible in the surrounding rock. Primitive opossums, horses the size of fox terriers, an anteater, eight bat species and a lemur-like primate that could be an early branch on humanity’s family tree—these and many more fossils provide glimpses of the distant ancestors of species we know today." Smithsonian
How do U really think all these creatures were buried together & many of their fellow fossils squeezed into oil?
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life,
...the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up,
and the windows of heaven were opened.

Creation Moment 11/10/2014 - To whom it may conCERN

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men;
1 Corinthians 1:25
"Last year CERN announced the finding of a new elementary particle, the Higgs particle. But maybe it wasn't the Higgs particle, maybe it just looks like it. And maybe it is not alone.
Frandsen

Many calculations indicate that the particle discovered last year in the CERN particle accelerator was indeed the famous Higgs particle. Physicists agree that the CERN experiments did find a new particle that had never been seen before, but according to an international research team, there is no conclusive evidence that the particle was indeed the Higgs particle."The CERN data is generally taken as evidence that the particle is the Higgs particle. It is true that the Higgs particle can explain the data but there can be other explanations, we would also get this data from other particles", Mads Toudal Frandsen explains.
The researchers' analysis does not debunk the possibility that CERN has discovered the Higgs particle. That is still possible - but it is equally possible that it is a different kind of particle.
"The current data is not precise enough to determine exactly what the particle is. It could be a number of other known particles", says Mads Toudal Frandsen.
But if it wasn't the Higgs particle, that was found in CERN's particle accelerator, then what was it?"
Phys.Org
See...just like the supposed evidence that the CMB proved the big bang recently had to be recanted, now all that hoopla over the supposed find of the so-called Higgs particle may have been premature. LESSON? Don't believe everything you hear from evolutionists about origins-- unlike God, they keep changing their story......

--Feast of Lots--
14 or 15 Adar (February/March)

The Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined themselves unto them, so as it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to their writing, and according to their appointed time every year;
And that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed.

Esther 9:27,28
NOTES:
Purim was a feast to commemorate the deliverance of the Jews from Haman's plot to have them massacred in the Persian empire. It was queen Esther who implemented the holiday.
Purim is celebrated in most places on 14 Adar except in cities walled since the days of Joshua where it is kept on 15 Adar.
On Purim, Jews today have someone read the book of Esther in synagogue. When the name of Mordecai is read the people cheer. Each time the name of Haman is read the people boo.
It is referred to as the Feast of Lots because Haman cast on which day to execute his plan.

And Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters unto all the Jews that were in all the provinces of the
king Ahasuerus, both nigh and far,
To stablish this among them,
that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly,
As the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies,
and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day:
that they should make them days of feasting and joy,
and of sending portions one to another,
and gifts to the poor.
Esther 9:20-22
But the Jews that were at Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof,
and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested,
and made it a day of feasting and gladness.
On the thirteenth day of the month Adar;
and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they,
and made it a day of feasting and gladness.
Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns,
made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting,
and a good day, and of sending portions one to another.

Papal Notes - Catholic Civil War Brewing?

"‘At this very critical moment, there is a strong sense that the church is like a ship without a rudder,’ said a prominent Catholic conservative last week. No big deal, you might think. Opponents of Pope Francis have been casting doubt on his leadership abilities for months — and especially since
October’s Vatican Synod on the Family, at which liberal cardinals pre-emptively announced a softening of the church’s line on homosexuality and second marriages, only to have their proposals torn up by their colleagues.

Cardinal Raymond Burke, prefect of the Apostolic Signatura — that is, president of the Vatican’s supreme court. As it happens, Pope Francis intends to sack Burke, whose habit of dressing up like a Christmas tree at Latin Masses infuriates him.
And thus we have the most senior American cardinal in Rome publicly questioning the stewardship of the Holy Father — possibly with the tacit approval of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.

It raises the question: is the Catholic church in the early stages of a civil war between liberals and conservatives, fought not over liturgical niceties (the source of relatively harmless squabbles under John Paul II and Benedict XVI) but fundamental issues of sexual morality?
‘Synod rebuffs Francis on gays,’ reported the media — the last thing the Pope wanted to read.

.....his choice of Kasper was a blunder because the cardinal, in addition to being a genial and distinguished scholar, is leader of a German-led faction that represents, in Catholic terms, the far left of the theological spectrum. In 1993 Kasper, then Bishop of Rottenburg-Stuttgart, co-signed a letter by German bishops demanding that Catholics living ‘in a canonically invalid union’ should be allowed to decide for themselves whether to receive the Eucharist.

Burke has emerged as leader of the traditionalists. ‘He did not want this role but perhaps he sees himself as a St John Fisher figure,’ says one Vatican source, a comparison that casts the successor of Peter in the role of Henry VIII.

What should worry Francis is that moderate conservative Catholics are losing confidence in him. The New York Times columnist Ross Douthat, believes that ‘this pope may be preserved from error only if the church itself resists him’." SpectatorMagazine
Commentary:
Hmmmm.....will Francis lead a leftist Populist Papacy into world popularity and strengthen the beast that way---or will he be overthrown (via internal politics) & his successor in the future lunge the other way?
Either way- a Francis type worldly friendly Eco-Class Warfare Catholicism --OR-- a more reactionary hardline old fashioned Catholicism.... Both can accomplish what it's role is on the pages of prophecy.
....and all the world wondered after the beast.
Revelation 13:3
P.S.--BREAKING NEWS (just before this goes to post)
"American Cardinal Raymond Burke, who championed campaigns to deny Communion to Catholic politicians who support legalized abortion, was removed by Pope Francis from another top Vatican
post on Saturday.
On Saturday he transferred Burke from the Vatican court job to the largely ceremonial post of Patron of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, a charity....
Last month, Burke marshaled conservative criticism against the possibility the Vatican may loosen up rules that ban Communion for divorced, remarried Catholics.
Francis has said that church hierarchy should not focus so much on abortion and same-sex marriage but instead concentrate on making the church a more welcoming place. Meanwhile, Burke has said to a Catholic broadcaster that "we can never talk enough" against abortion and same-sex marriage.
He has also questioned Francis' denunciation of excesses of capitalism." HP

Well, well, well,...so Francis is lunging to the left...the civil war is on...

Footsteps of Paul: Sermon of "Glad Tidings"

Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos,
they came to Perga in Pamphylia:
and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.
But when they departed from Perga,
they came to Antioch in Pisidia,
and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.

And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying,

Ye men and brethren,
if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

Then Paul stood up,
and beckoning with his hand said,

Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.
The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers,
and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt,
and with an high arm brought he them out of it.
And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness.
And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan,
he divided their land to them by lot.

And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years,
until Samuel the prophet.
And afterward they desired a king:
and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin,
by the space of forty years.
And when he had removed him,
he raised up unto them David to be their king;
to whom also he gave testimony, and said,
I have found David the son of Jesse,
a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise
raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

When John had first preached before his coming the baptism
of repentance to all the people of Israel.
And as John fulfilled his course,
he said,

Whom think ye that I am? I am not he.
But, behold, there cometh one after me,
whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.

Men and brethren,
children of the stock of Abraham,
and whosoever among you feareth God,
to you is the word of this salvation sent.

For they that dwell at Jerusalem,
and their rulers,
because they knew him not,
nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day,
they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
And though they found no cause of death in him,
yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him,
they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulcher.
But God raised him from the dead:
And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem,
who are his witnesses unto the people.
And we declare unto you glad tidings,
how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children,
in that he hath raised up Jesus again;

as it is also written in the second psalm,
Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead,
now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise,
I will give you the sure mercies of David.

Wherefore he saith also in another psalm,
Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

For David,
after he had served his own generation by the will of God,
fell on sleep,
and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren,
that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
And by him all that believe are justified from all things,
from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
Beware therefore, lest that come upon you,
which is spoken of in the prophets;
Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish:
for I work a work in your days,
a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.

And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue,
the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.
Now when the congregation was broken up,
many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas:
who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
Acts 13:13-43
"The Spirit of God accompanied the words that were spoken, and hearts were touched. The apostle's appeal to Old Testament prophecies, and his declaration that these had been fulfilled in the ministry of Jesus of Nazareth, carried conviction to many a soul longing for the advent of the promised Messiah. And the speaker's words of assurance that the "glad tidings" of salvation were for Jew and Gentile alike, brought hope and joy to those who had not been numbered among the children of Abraham according to the flesh." Acts of the Apostles p.172 E.G.W.

Creation Moment 11/9/14 - Phylogenetic Tree Problem

"If comparing all possible biological features yields the same tree, then the tree could have some objective reality. Richard Dawkins (2009, pp. 321 ff.) offered what he calls "powerful evidence" for
Common Descent based on the (presumed) existence of a phylogenetic tree. ... An argument for Common Descent would be helped if anatomical data and molecular data would always lead to the same tree. However, the fact is they don't. Phylogenetic trees based on different genes are known to give contradictory results. There was hope that the use of whole genomes, or at least large portions of genomes, for phylogenetic studies would resolve those contradictions, but that only made the problem worse." Lee Spetner, PhD., MIT, The Evolution Revolution p.87

after our likeness:

IN the NEWS - Burning Christians in Pakistan

"Pakistani police say they have arrested up to 40 people in connection with the killing of a Christian couple in Punjab province who were beaten, then pushed into a burning kiln after being accused of desecrating the Quran.
Local police officials said a mob from neighboring villages formed Tuesday after a local mullah
declared the couple were guilty of blasphemy.
The mob allegedly marched to the couple's home, broke down their door, dragged them outside, beat them and threw them into the brick kiln where they both worked.
The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), "is shocked and saddened beyond words by the callous murder of the couple and their unborn child," the group said.
.....the incident stemmed with a dispute over money the kiln's owners said the couple owed them.
An accusation that the couple had desecrated the Quran "was spread to nearby villages and announcements [were] made through mosque loudspeakers," the HRCP said.
The mob that went to the kiln was estimated at around 500 people, the rights group said, citing local police.
The HRCP said its team learned that four policemen went to the kiln to demand that the couple be handed over for protection from the mob, but that the owners "instructed their employees not to hand the couple over and the policemen were also beaten up."
The kiln's owners were among those arrested, the rights group said, quoting police.
According to the statement, the HRCP team "did not come across any evidence of desecration of the Holy Quran." CNN

IN the NEWS - Senator-elect & Biblical Worldview

The wicked borrows but does not pay back,
Psalm 37:21
"Oklahoma Senator-elect James Lankford is vowing to use his biblical worldview to address problems like the national debt.
Lankford said the book of Nehemiah stresses the importance of retiring debt and rebuilding infrastructure.
The 46-year-old also told Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, he'll work to protect the religious rights of all Americans, at work and in every part of life.
Lankford, who is a long-time Baptist minister, said Americans who are concerned about the nation's problems should pray as much as they complain." ChristianNewsNetwork
Commentary:
I kinda see his point.....not really a bad idea, BUT we should be careful here. I don't have a problem if he lets his Biblical worldview influence his politics....sure is a lot better than having an atheist view run things...--BUT--...he should be careful not to bring the Bible directly into the political debate.

Creation Moment 11/8/2014 - Chemistry & Life

.....for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
Psalm 139:14
* "Consider the element carbon (C)—the most unique element of all the chemical elements in the Periodic Table. It is a nonmetal having unlimited capacity to participate in every known type of covalent chemical bonding (i.e., pairs of electrons shared between atoms) which unite atoms of the same kind to each other and to other kinds of atoms as well. This feature, called catenation, is virtually unlimited only for the element carbon, making possible the wide diversity of organic molecules needed for life.

* Other elements, such as silicon (Si), nitrogen (N), sulfur (S), phosphorus (P), etc., display some very limited capacities for catenation, but do not even come close to rivaling the catenation ability of C. Without this unique feature, the formation of such essential biomolecules as proteins, DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), RNA (ribonucleic acid), cellulose, etc., would be impossible.

Elements such as carbon (C), nitrogen (O), sulfur (S), phosphorus (P), and other nonmetals are called
Representative or Main Group Elements.
With the exception of oxygen, atoms of these elements are stable only when even numbers of their electrons unite in pairs; otherwise the presence of "unpaired" electrons impart chemical instability.

On the other hand, metallic elements such as chromium (Cr), iron (Fe), nickel (Ni), etc., called Transition Metals, are among the Sub-Group Elements and do contain unpaired electrons, but surprisingly are chemically very stable.

The element oxygen (O) exists freely in nature as the gaseous diatomic molecule O2. No substitute for oxygen exists which is similarly utilized in life processes. There are other Representative Elements which also occur as free diatomic molecules, e.g., hydrogen (H2), nitrogen (N2), fluorine (F2), and chlorine (Cl2). However, O2 is the only molecule of this type possessing two unpaired electrons; the others all have paired electrons. In spite of this, O2 is still chemically stable. This singular notable exception to the electron-pair rule of stability for Representative Elements has no known explanation.

* Furthermore, if it were not for the two unpaired electrons in O2, it would not be capable of binding to the iron (Fe) atoms in hemoglobin, with precisely the amount of energy needed to carry the O2 into the bloodstream and then release it. Some other molecules such as CO and NO can replace O2 in binding to hemoglobin, but they completely destroy the hemoglobin function.

Furthermore, in cytochrome oxidase, O2 reacts specifically with electrons produced via an oxidation/reduction coupling mechanism between iron (Fe3+) and copper (Cu2+), whereby these are reduced to Fe2+ and Cu+ respectively, and again reoxidized to Fe3+ and Cu2+. This process occurs in cycles during the mechanism of O2 binding to iron in hemoglobin. No other substitutes for these two elements in this process exists. Life's requirements are precise.

* The element zinc (Zn) is crucial in the formation of so called zinc "finger" proteins, in which Zn2+ is bonded to pairs of cysteine and histidine amino acids, acting like "fingers" which interact with specific gene segments.

Such characteristics defy the probability that any random evolutionary process could account for such specificity in design, attributable only to the Creator, God." ICR

Calendar of Redemption: Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur)

Calendar of Redemption
Before the Cross-
Concerning the feasts of the LORD,...   an holy convocation;
ye shall do no work therein:
it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
These are the feasts of the LORD,
even holy convocations,
which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
Leviticus 23:4,5
Since the Cross-
Let no man therefore judge you in meat,
or in drink,
or in respect of an holyday,
or of the new moon,
or of the sabbath days:
These are
a shadow of the things that were to come;
the reality, however, is found in Christ.
Colossians 2:16,17 NIV
--DAY OF ATONEMENT--
10 Tishri (September/October)

Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement:

it shall be an holy convocation unto you;
and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
And ye shall do no work in that same day:
for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God.
For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.

And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.
Leviticus 2:27-30
SANCTUARY:
This would be in the Most Holy Place....where the ark of the covenant & judgment seat are.
NOTES:
We are not to do any work--for we are to rely on the works of "Christ" our righteousness & should be afflicting our souls so as not to be obsessed with the things of the world. This is also the final phase of the investigative judgment of God. Many Jews today read the book of Jonah at synagogue on this day. the final blotting out of sins or your name from the books.
2015-September 23
2016-October 12
2017-September 30
2018-September 19
Neither by the blood of goats and calves,
but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place,
having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Hebrews 9:12
And he said:

“I cried out to the LORD because of my affliction,
And He answered me.

“Out of the belly of Sheol I cried,
And You heard my voice.

Then I said, ‘I have been cast out of Your sight;
Yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.’
Jonah 2:2,4 NKJV

Catholic Purgatory View

"Purgatory is a spiritual realm where souls go when they have not been condemned to hell, yet are still not cleansed of sin enough to enter heaven — a realm in which spirits “endure severe punishment and in the process become cleansed of sin and its ill effects,” according to Patheos.

But Fr. Dwight Longenecker, a Catholic priest, recently wrote that, despite the hardships endured by
the faithful as they climb their way through purgatory toward heaven, it is actually a joyful place.
After all, the souls sent there know that they have escaped the pain and suffering of hell, as purgatory isn’t a place where human beings spend eternity. In fact, anyone who passes through will at some point end up in heaven. That said, the journey isn’t an easy one, according to Catholic doctrine.

The pains in hell are punitive, but purgatory is purgative,” Longenecker wrote. “In other words, the pain is for gain; the struggle is for sanctity. The fire is a purifier.”
He added that All Souls’ Day — which was celebrated this past Sunday — is the time during which Catholic faithful pray for the souls of loved ones who are currently in purgatory.

Of course, it’s impossible to know exactly what’s inside purgatory and what souls go through as they pass along, though the general idea is that they are being spiritually cleansed and prepared for heaven.

Protestants generally shun purgatory as unbiblical, sweepingly rejecting it during the Reformation 497 years ago and continuing to do so today,.." TheBlaze
Why Purgatory is UNBIBLICAL
1) The dead are dead until the resurrection:
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1 Thessalonians 4:16
2) We are cleansed by the blood of the Lamb of God (Christ) not by some fire purifier:
....and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Revelation 7:14
