Creation Moment 11/6/2012 - Paganism & Evolution

"The Greeks borrowed some of these ideas from the Babylonians, Egyptians and Hindus, whose philosophies extended back centuries before. For example, one Hindu belief was that Brahman (the Universe) spontaneously evolved by itself like a seed, which expanded and formed all that exists about 4.3 billion years ago. These Hindus believed in an eternal Universe that had cycles of rebirth, destruction and dormancy, known as ‘kalpas’, rather like oscilla ting big bang theories. We also read in the Hindu Bhagavad Gita that the god Krishna says, ‘I am the source from which all creatures evolve.’
Some of the Babylonians claimed that they had astronomical inscriptions on clay tablets for 730,000 years; others, like Berosus, claimed 490,000 years for the inscriptions.    The Egyptians claimed that they had understood astronomy for more than 100,000 years.
The early Christian Church Fathers constantly argued with the pagans about the age of the earth, or about the age of civilization. They were unanimous that God had created the earth less than 6,000 years before they wrote. For example, one of the most influential, Augustine (AD354–430), in his most famous work, City of God, has a whole chapter, Of the Falseness of the History Which Allots Many Thousand Years to the World’s Past, where he says:
‘Let us, then, omit the conjectures of men who know not what they say, when they speak of the nature and origin of the human race. … They are deceived, too, by those highly mendacious documents which profess to give the history of many thousand years, though, reckoning by the sacred writings, we find that not 6000 years have yet passed.’
Theophilus (AD115–181), Bishop of Antioch, wrote an apologetic work to the pagan magistrate Autolycus about the problem of the pagan long ages, mentioning Plato’s 200 million year period between the Flood and his time, and Apollonius the Egyptian’s claim of at least 155,625 years since creation.
The ancient pagans may have calculated their vast ages through astrology because they regarded it as true science. Julius Africanus (AD200–245) wrote:
‘The Egyptians, indeed, with their boastful notions of their own antiquity, have put forth a sort of account of it by the hand of their astrologers in cycles and myriads of years … ’ [myriad = 10,000]." CMI

Music

"Solemn responsibilities rest upon the young. The introduction of music into their homes, instead of inciting to holiness and spirituality, has been the means of diverting their minds from the truth. Frivolous songs and the popular sheet music of the day seem congenial to their taste. The instruments of music have taken time which should have been devoted to prayer.
Music, when not abused, is a great blessing; but when put to a wrong use, it is a terrible curse. It excites, but does not impart that strength and courage which the Christian can find only at the throne of grace while humbly making known his wants and with strong cries and tears pleading for heavenly strength to be fortified against the powerful temptations of the evil one.
Satan is leading the young captive. He is a skillful charmer..."

A walk Through Job - Longing 4 Death

Why died I not from the womb?
why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?
Why did the knees prevent me?
or why the breasts that I should suck?
For now should I have lain still and been quiet,
I should have slept:
then had I been at rest,
With kings and counsellors of the earth,
which built desolate places for themselves;
Or with princes that had gold,
who filled their houses with silver:
Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been;
as infants which never saw light.
There the wicked cease from troubling;
and there the weary be at rest.
There the prisoners rest together;
they hear not the voice of the oppressor.
The small and great are there;
and the servant is free from his master.
Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery,
and life unto the bitter in soul;
Which long for death, but it cometh not;
and dig for it more than for hid treasures;
Job 3:11-22

Creation Moment 11/5/2012 - 5 Questions for Evolutionists

"One: Life’s Unexpected Explosion Forty major animal groups appear out of nowhere at the bottom of the fossil record. Where did this “Cambrian Explosion” come from?
Two: Those Not-So-Dry Bones
If dinosaurs died millions of years ago, how can their fossils still contain soft tissue?

Three: Without a Leg to Stand On
Birds are vastly different from dinosaurs, even in the way they walk. How could one come from the other?

Four: Amazingly Preserved Leaves
When leaves die, they shrivel up and crumble. So why is the fossil record full of well-preserved, flat leaves?

Five: Tracks But No Trilobites Why do we find lots of trilobite tracks in lower rock layers, but we don’t find any trilobite fossils until higher up?" AIG

Length of the Chain

"Only by the length of the chain let down from heaven to draw us up can we know the depths to which we had sunk."

Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.
I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing:
I am come into deep waters,
where the floods overflow me.
I am weary of my crying:
my throat is dried:
mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.

Hindu Myth & Christian Error

According to Hindu scripture, they seem to have the same myth/ERROR as some Christians, the myth/ERROR of the IMMORTALITY of the SOUL...

That which pervades the entire body you should know to be indestructible.
No one is able to destroy that imperishable soul.
Bhagavad Gita 2:17

But God says,
The soul that sinneth, it shall die.
Ezekiel 18:20
For the wages of sin is death;
but the gift (a GIFT-NOT automatic) of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23
Here is where you lie until either the
1st Resurrection (of the saved at His return)
or until the 2nd Resurrection (of the wicked after the Millennium)
The Christian ERROR of the Immortality of the soul is Wrong
as is the Hindu myth of an "imperishable" soul

The Rich

"The bible condemns no man for being rich, if he has aquired his riches honestly. Not money, but the love of money, is the root of all evil."
Ministry of Healing p. 212 E.G.W.
For the love of money is the root of all evil:
which while some coveted after,
they have erred from the faith,
and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

IN the NEWS - Mexican Protestants cut into Catholic/Pagan Day of the Dead ceremonies

"Isaac Carrasco and his two daughters dutifully adorned the graves of several relatives with beds of marigolds and crosses made of red flowers for Mexico’s Day of the Dead.

Day of the Dead in Mexico is about as silly as
Halloween here-both are Catholic/Pagan celebrations
But the nearby tombstones of his grandparents were bare and surrounded by metal bars, left this way by his aunts, who no longer mark the annual ritual.
Like a growing number of Mexicans, Carrasco’s aunts became Protestant and no longer believe in a tradition that dates back from the Aztec era and was later fused with Catholic beliefs.
All across Mexico, people decorated graves and put up altars in their homes on Thursday and Friday, placing photos of their loved ones along with gifts such as sugar skulls, tequila and cigars.
Mexicans believe that the souls of the deceased return during the night to enjoy this feast with their loved ones. They sing and laugh, and some even sleep in the cemetery next to portable stoves with burning incense.
The cemetery of Tlacotepec, a town of 10,000 people, is one of the oldest in the central Mexican region, which is known of its chile poblano — a mild chili pepper — and is home to the Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl volcanoes.
Around 10 percent of the nearly 1,000 graves in the San Lucas Cemetery were not decorated this year, according to the local priest, Marco Antonio Ramos. The number of graves without decorations has steadily increased over the last five years, he said.
Catholicism has lost some ground in Mexico with the rise of Protestantism.
Over the last decade, the number of Catholics has dropped from 88 percent to nearly 84 percent of the population, according to a document released by the Archdiocese of Mexico before the March visit of Pope Benedict XVI.
There are now 11 million Protestants in Mexico, compared to almost 93 million Catholics in a country of 112 million people. Mexico still has the second biggest Catholic population in Latin America after Brazil.
“We will cling to this tradition,” Carrasco said as he dug a hole in the earth with a machete to place a candle. “Maybe one soul has already come to drink his mezcal,” he said, referring to the booze made from the maguey plant.
At another grave site, Emiliano Chino and his large family held a party of around 20 dead relatives, drinking a warm punch, singing and dancing into the evening." TheRawStory

A Walk Through Job - Lament the Day

After this opened Job his mouth,
and cursed his day.
And Job spake, and said,
Let the day perish wherein I was born,
and the night in which it was said,
There is a man child conceived.
Let that day be darkness;
let not God regard it from above,
neither let the light shine upon it.
Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it;
let a cloud dwell upon it;
let the blackness of the day terrify it.
As for that night, let darkness seize upon it;
let it not be joined unto the days of the year,
let it not come into the number of the months.
Lo, let that night be solitary, let no joyful voice come therein.
Let them curse it that curse the day,
who are ready to raise up their mourning.
Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark;
let it look for light,
but have none;
neither let it see the dawning of the day:
Because it shut not up the doors of my mother's womb, nor hid sorrow from mine eyes.

Creation Moment 11/4/2012 - No Martian Methane?...

"After more than a month of searching, scientists using NASA's rover Curiosity to study Mars' atmosphere have found no evidence that the planet most like Earth in the solar system has methane, a gas tied to biological processes.
On Earth, living systems produce more than 90 percent of the methane in the atmosphere, with the rest tied to geochemical processes. The gas is easily broken down by sunlight, so its presence in the Martian atmosphere would imply a continuous source on the planet's surface.
But on Mars, solar radiation is likely not the only methane-killer, nor the most lethal.
For example, the planet's atmosphere and soil is believed to contain chemicals that are highly destructive to molecular bonds, including those in methane." DiscoveryNews

Maybe there are no clues for biological life on Mars because our earth was created to be....well-a unique CREATION?

"Clipping" of Lucifer's Wings

Just like when the serpent lost his wings---
And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
Genesis 3:14

Jan. 28, 1888 Sabbath School Lesson - Abel's Sacrifice

1. What was the name of the first son of Adam and Eve?
And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
Genesis 4:1
2. What was the name of the second son?
And she again bare his brother Abel.
Genesis 4:2

3. What occupation did each follow ?
And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Genesis 4:2
4. What offering did Cain bring to the Lord ?
Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
Genesis 4:3
5. What was Abel's offering ?
And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof.
Genesis 4:4
6. How did the Lord regard Abel's offering?And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
Genesis 4:4
 7. How did the Lord regard Cain's offering?
But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect.
Genesis 4:5

8. What made Abel's offering more acceptable than Cain's ?
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain,
Hebrews 11:4
9. What did Abel obtain by his offering ?
...by which he obtained witness that he was righteous,
Hebrews 11:4
10. What was the defect in Cain's offering ?
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Hebrews 9:22
11. Then since Cain did not take the proper steps to secure the remission of sins,what lay at his door ?
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door.
Genesis 4:7
12. Through whose blood alone may remission of sins be obtained ?
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood,
Romans 3:24,25
13. Then since Abel was accepted, in whom must he have had faith ?
Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even]by him doth this man stand here before you whole. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Acts 4:10,12

14. What is the highest attainment of faith ?
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:4
15. Since Abel was justified, was not his faith in Christ as perfect as ours can be ?
To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Romans 3:26
16. What did Cain do to Abel?
And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
Genesis 4:8
17. Why did he do this?
Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
1 John 3:12

18. Of what scripture was Abel the first to demonstrate the truth ?
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
2 Timothy 3:12
19. Is it any wonder if the world hates the righteous?
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
John 15:19

A Walk Through Job - Magnitude of Job's Suffering

Now when Job's three friends
heard of all this evil that was come upon him,
they came every one from his own place;
Eliphaz the Temanite, and
Bildad the Shuhite, and
Zophar the Naamathite:
for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.

And when they lifted up their eyes afar off,
and knew him not,
they lifted up their voice, and wept;
and they rent every one his mantle,
and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.

So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights,
and none spake a word unto him:
for they saw that his grief was very great.

Creation Moment 11/3/2012 - Genetics fits Genesis

And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
Acts 17:26
"What if geneticists discovered, lurking in the DNA sequences of modern humans, clues of a heritage that mirrors the historical account of the dispersion at Babel? Researchers appear to have uncovered such clues in a recent attempt "to reconstruct modern evolutionary history" of three hunter-gatherer African tribal populations.

Scientists sequenced the genomes of five males—representing Pygmy, Hadza, and Sandawe tribe members—over 60 times each. Such dense coverage ensured that the identities of each DNA base pair they sequenced were accurate. They compared the African DNA sequences with each other and against similar studies on Europeans.

The geneticists published their unexpected finds in the journal Cell, providing data that accord with a rapid post-flood diversification in Genesis history. For example, they discovered an enormous number of novel DNA variations just within the three tribes. Most of the variations were "single nucleotide polymorphisms," or SNPs, that occur as single DNA base pair differences between individuals.

Specifically, their study found 13,407,517 SNPs that differ from the human genome reference sequence. The study authors wrote, "Our sequence data substantially expand the catalog of human genetic variation." These results add to a recent study that found that human variation is related to an explosion of genetic diversity beginning at roughly 5,100 years ago.

The Cell authors also searched for certain kinds of sequences that identify people groups. First, they did not find "shared variants between Hadze and Sandawe." Although both tribes are hunter-gatherers who have long lived in Tanzania, each has unique DNA variants. If they had diverged only within the past several generations, they would share variations from inter-breeding with nearby groups. The lack of shared variants indicated to the authors that the populations diverged long ago, with little or no intermarriage between them. But when exactly did they diverge?

The team found genomic regions inherited from ancient ancestors "in the same time frame as Neandertals."1 Neandertals were a variety of mankind who intermarried with modern-looking humans during the post-Flood Ice Age from between roughly 3,500 and 4,500 years ago.5

The study authors found other evidence of widespread human interbreeding long ago, "predating the divergence of these [African] populations." The researchers wrote in the journal Cell, "A striking finding in our data set is that compelling evidence exists that extant hunter-gatherer genomes contain introgressed [repeatedly interbred] archaic sequence."1

Though perhaps striking to evolutionists, biblical creationists expect results like this. According to biblical history, intermarriage would have occurred freely for a few hundred years within the world's single nation at Babel. God then confused the languages and miraculously splintered humanity according to its families that would soon become 70 ancient nations.6

So, according to this genomic analysis, three modern African populations first intermarried with non-African populations. They then became isolated during the Ice Age, as is consistent with their having migrated from Babel to Africa. Finally, most of their genomic variations happened recently, since their populations were established. These events, all discerned from genomic clues, are in agreement with biblical history." ICR

A Walk Through Job - His Wife's Advice

So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD,
and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.

And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal;
and he sat down among the ashes.
Then said his wife unto him,
Dost thou still retain thine integrity?

But he said unto her,

What?
shall we receive good at the hand of God,
and shall we not receive evil?

In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

IN the NEWS - French Schools to teach opposite of God's Word purposely

"France, the government has announced plans to include educating primary school children about homosexual relationships and same-sex parenting.

The Ultra-Leftist French Minister Vallaud-Belkacem
French Minister for Women’s Rights Najat Vallaud-Belkacem on Wednesday unveiled wide-ranging plans to fight homophobia in France that include teaching primary school children about issues affecting LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) people.
The proposals follow consultations with scores of LGBT associations and are part of a wider scheme to make France a “world leader in the fight against homophobia”.
Labaquere told FRANCE 24 that the government’s ambition to write awareness of gay and single-parenting issues into the school curriculum – for children as young as six or seven – is essential to nip homophobia in the bud.
Changes to the curriculum, he insisted, would not involve active promotion of homosexuality or explanations of “what people do in private”, but would help explain “the importance of relationships and of love.”
Vallaud-Belkacem also said an inter-ministerial group was working on ways to clamp down on (mainly religious) organisations in France who claim they can “cure” people of homosexuality.
The announcement comes as the government continues to press ahead with a bill to legalise same-sex marriage, which is due to be voted in January 2013." France24

"Imagine a city where everyone walks to work, wears the same clothes and lives in the same type of house – no stores, restaurants or parks exist, everything is painted the same. Bars cover the windows, all doors are locked and cameras record every action for security. Does such a city sound like a desirable place to live? No, because it is home, heartbreak hotel for over ten million inmates in the world’s prisons. Who ministers to them when they receive a letter informing them their spouse wants a divorce or a family member has died. While periodic visits by church jail bands to local prisons are helpful, a chaplain is needed to be the full time pastor for inmates and prison staff.

IN the NEWS - Chaplains deployed to Hurricane Sandy's aftermath

"Chaplains are offering spiritual support in communities affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Billy Graham Rapid Response Teams have been deployed to multiple sites across the disaster zone in the north-eastern US.
More than 40 people were killed by the storm, including 22 in New York alone, and many homes are still without power.
Chaplains are coming from across the US to serve in the Rapid Response Teams, which will be based initially in New Jersey and Philadelphia.
The chaplains are specially trained to deal with crisis situations and had only recently been withdrawn from Louisiana following Hurricane Isaac last year.
Jack Munday, international director of the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team said: "Sadly, it seems that the worst fears were realised and millions of people are now hurting as a result of Hurricane Sandy.
"I'm not sure that there are words that can adequately describe the enormity of this massive disaster.
"We'll do all we can in the face of this catastrophe to offer emotional and spiritual care and the hope and compassion of Jesus Christ."
The Salvation Army is also serving in affected communities. It says it is "prepared for a long-term disaster response and recovery operation".
Food, hydration and clean-up kits are being handed out and mobile canteens have been set.
In New York City, the Salvation Army has been appointed as the lead agency for food provision at the city's emergency shelters.
World Vision is responding with relief kits and assisting clean-up operations." ChristianToday

A Walk Through Job - Skin 4 Skin

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and

Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou?
And Satan answered the LORD,
and said,
From going to and fro in the earth,
and from walking up and down in it.
And the LORD said unto Satan,
Hast thou considered my servant Job,
that there is none like him in the earth,
a perfect and an upright man,
*one that feareth God,
*and escheweth evil?
and still he holdeth fast his integrity,
although thou movedst me against him,
to destroy him without cause.
And Satan answered the LORD,
and said,
Skin for skin, yea,
all that a man hath will he give for his life.
But put forth thine hand now,
and touch his bone and his flesh,
and he will curse thee to thy face.
And the LORD said unto Satan,
Behold, he is in thine hand;
but save his life.
Job 2:1-6

William Secker says - (Ruth at the feet of Boaz)

"If Ruth lie at the feet of Boaz, her next remove may be into his bed. If you take the devil's cup into your hand, it is to be feared that you will quickly lift it to your head."
The Nonsuch Professor p.123

And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down. And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet. And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid; for thou art a near kinsman.
Ruth 3:7-9

Creation Moment 11/1/2012 - Our Unique Planetary System

"Why aren’t we finding other planetary systems like our own?” PhysOrg asked. Most planetary systems found by astronomers so far are quite different than our own. Many have giant planets whizzing around in a compact configuration, very close to their star. An extreme case in point is a newly found solar system that was announced on October 15, 2012 which packs five—count ‘em—five planets into a region less than one-twelve the size of Earth’s orbit!
The fact that almost all solar systems found so far are so different than our own has astronomers wondering if we are, in fact, the oddballs. A study from 2010 concluded that only about 10 – 15 percent of stars in the Universe host systems of planets like our own, with terrestrial planets nearer the star and several gas giant planets in the outer part of the solar system.
There are several theories about the formation of the large planets in our outer solar system which involves the planets moving and migrating inward and outward during the formation process. But why didn’t the inner planets, including Earth, move in closer, too?"
Now for the Kicker....
"Fact is, “We don’t know why this didn’t happen in our solar system,” the spokesperson said. It’s going to require “a new generation of theories to explain why our solar system turned out so differently.” CEH LOL
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
