The Beautiful Symbol
"In the midst of the desert heat there was a cool, refreshing shelter beneath the shade of the cloudy pillar for those who served in the tabernacle or worshiped in its court, while without was the scorching heat of the desert. (Each one will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land. Isaiah. 32:2)
What a beautiful symbol of the covering God spreads over His people in the midst of this wicked world, so that it is possible to dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty One (Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1) while in the midst of the turmoil and strife of this wicked world." Stephen Haskell
