Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Revelation 14:7

They published and article on July 15, 2023, titled “Measuring What Is
Gained With Car-Free Cities—Including Cash Profits.”
The story featured pictures of people walking and riding bicycles,
together with the words “Car-Free Sundays.” The article praised the
“Car-Free Sundays” initiative by attributing to it both health and
monetary benefits. New studies were cited, telling us that all the data
is conclusive and transparent.
The new studies have concluded that Car-Free Sundays are a public
health benefit. Do you remember the coercive lockdowns and health
mandates that were enacted during the Covid pandemic in the interest of
public health? Now we are being told that certain studies have concluded
that Car-Free Sundays are a benefit for a “healthier population.”
The idea that Sunday is the official day of rest is being implanted
into the minds of people today. Car-free Sunday has two primary
purposes.
---First, to encourage people to reduce the negative
environmental effects created by driving cars,
---and second, to establish
in society the idea that Sunday is the day for rest and relaxation.
Car-free Sunday is an obvious attempt to establish Sunday as a
special day for the community.
We were warned in the book The Great
Controversy that the temperance work would be combined with the Sunday
movement.
“Here the temperance work, one of the most prominent and important of moral reforms, is often combined with the Sunday movement, and the advocates of the latter represent themselves as laboring to promote the highest interest of society; and those who refuse to unite with them are denounced as the enemies of temperance and reform … It is one of Satan’s devices to combine with falsehood just enough truth to give it plausibility. The leaders of the Sunday movement may advocate reforms which the people need, principles which are in harmony with the Bible, yet while there is with these a requirement which is contrary to God’s law, his servants cannot unite with them. Nothing can justify them in setting aside the commandments of God for the precepts of men” (Great Controversy, p. 587)." AdventMessenger
