Spiritual Life Parched?

Mourn like a virgin in sackcloth grieving for the betrothed of her youth. Grain offerings and drink offerings are cut off from the house of the Lord. The priests are in mourning, those who minister before the Lord. The fields are ruined, the ground is dried up; the grain is destroyed, the new wine is dried up, the olive oil fails. Joel 1:8-10
"In Exodus 29 and Leviticus 2 we read a detailed report on how to
offer grain offering and drink offering.
Unleavened fine flour, mixed with oil and salt was used to make grain offering. Roasted fresh heads of grain could also be offered as a grain offering of first fruits. Drink offering was made from a quarter of a hin of oil from pressed olives, and a quarter of a hin of wine. These offering were included in their ceremonial morning and evening sacrifices, which is a vital part of their spiritual life.

Clearly, here in Judah, the grain is destroyed and the wine and oil is dried up, which means the people are not able to offer their daily portion of grain and drink offerings to the Lord. Therefore God calls them to mourn on their inability to offer sacrifice to God.

*When our spiritual life enters a dry spell what is our reaction?
*Are we burdened by the lack of time we give to God that He deserves?
We can’t remain in dry lands for too long.
We need the spiritual manna, the clear living water."
