The panel was originally intended to be moderated by Cardinal Sean O’Malley, OFM Cap. of Boston, but he withdrew from participating in the pastoral congress due to an investigation into sexual harassment occurring at the diocese’ seminary. O’Malley is the president of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors."
....The point here missed is that if one had Scripture as the rule of
faith, one wouldn't need canon law. The men of God in positions of authority would already be removing from the Church rolls the child molesters...but when they write the canon laws, and themselves are corrupt....then you get what you're getting now...corruption and cover-up at the highest levels.
