"Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has signed legislation excluding abortion from state employee health insurance plans.
Walker signed Assembly Bill 128 into law Tuesday, the Associated Press reports. It prohibits the state’s Group Insurance Board from contracting with or providing any insurance plan that offers abortions, except in cases of rape, incest, or to save a mother’s life. Existing plans said that only “medically necessary” abortions could be covered, but the law did not define what “medically necessary” meant.
