That the sons of God saw the daughters of men
that they were fair;
and they took them wives of all which they chose.
Genesis 6:2
And Lamech took unto him two wives:
the name of the one was Adah,
and the name of the other Zillah.
Genesis 4:19
Lamech was the great-great grandson of Cain....the fact that these are the next women recorded by name in Scripture following Eve must have meaning....The meaning of their names could be a clue to how the "sons of God" were lured by the daughters of men....
1) By their looks & their ornamentations.
2) By Music, likely their dancing.
Adah- root-verb עדה ('ada II) means to ornament oneself (Isaiah 61:10, Hosea 2:15), or someone
else (Ezekiel 16:11). It's used eight times in the Bible, and half of these depict Jerusalem as accessorized woman. (from Abarim)
Zillah - verb צלל (salal), means to tingle or quiver.... noun צלמות (salmawet, which is a combination of our word צל (sel) meaning shade or shadow, and the very common word מות (mawet), meaning death or the realm of death....plural noun צלצלים (selselim), denoting a musical percussion instrument; cymbals (2 Samuel 6:5, 1 Chronicles 13:8 and Psalm 150:4).
