From CNN....Las Vegas attack is the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history
"A gunman, identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, fires from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay
Bay Resort and Casino on a crowd of 30,000 gathered on the Las Vegas Strip for the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival. At least 58 people were killed and more than 515 injured. Police believe the gunman killed himself." CNN


From Express...NASA has confirmed it is monitoring the approach of a large celestial object, that a top scientist warned is "coming in D*** CLOSE."
"On October 12 New Yorkers will be closer to the object 2012 TC4
than to Tokyo.
Nasa earth defence specialists are keenly monitoring the close approach of the asteroid, with fears it could pass as near as just 4,200 miles away.
It was feared the asteroid could strike satellites orbiting Earth, but scientists now believe it will be 5,000 miles out from our planet.
It is believed to be bigger than the Chelyabinsk meteor which exploded above Russia, damaging thousands of buildings and injuring 1,500 people in 2013.
Nasa is convinced it will not impact, but say it will skim earth at a distance of about 27,300 miles.
At one stage it was feared it could come as close as just over 4,000 miles." Express

From CBS...Hurricane Nate? Tropical depression could be next named storm to reach U.S.
"A new tropical depression that could eventually reach the U.S. as a
hurricane was developing off of Central America on Wednesday while another system formed off the southern Pacific coast of Mexico.
The tropical depression formed off the Atlantic coast of Central America and the U.S. National Hurricane Center said it was likely to bring heavy rains to that region before a possibly striking the U.S. with hurricane-force strength over the weekend.
If the depression becomes the next Atlantic tropical storm, its name would be Nate." CBS

"A top CIA official for the Korean Peninsula warned Wednesday that the U.S. should be ready for a
new provocation by North Korea on Columbus Day on Oct. 9, which coincides with the anniversary of the founding of the political party that governs in Pyongyang.
Oct. 10 marks the anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea in 1945.
Lee added that Pyongyang historically has been controlled by its fear of the Chinese abandoning its support for the Hermit Kingdom, or that the U.S. would carry out a military strike. Kim Jong Un no longer has those fears, Lee said." U.S. News & World Report
