IN the NEWS - Atwill's Luceferian Nonsense

"On Oct. 19, self-professed Biblical scholar Joseph Atwill is planning to make public some very
More Luceferian Nonsense on the battlefield of this
Great Controversy-as Atwill appeals to the weak minded.
Even "secular" scholars disagree with Atwill's premise &
agree that Christ existed.....
flammable allegations. At a day-long symposium called "Covert Messiah" in London, England, he's set to unveil purported evidence that Roman aristocrats manufactured Jesus Christ - a claim that, if substantiated, would devalue the core of the Christian faith.

The only problem? Most Biblical experts disagree with the scholar's pronouncements.
A press release announcing the purported new evidence claims that Atwill has discovered "ancient confessions" that purportedly prove that Romans invented Jesus Christ in the first century. He has long argued that the faith system was used as a political tool to control the masses -- something he says is still going on today." YahooNews

Is someone trying to write another book? Sounds like Atwill is laying the groundwork for such a thing. This nonsense seems to be timed to coincide over the last decade (he wrote a 2006 book along these lines) with government conspiracy kooks in the aftermath of 9-11. All he is doing is tying the conspiracy theory mentality in the air from politics to religion.
Of course nearly all scholars-religious or secular-disagree with his analysis. The question isn't whether Christ was crucified-it is over why the tomb was empty....After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 1 Corinthians 15:6

Who is Atwill? - "As a youth in Japan Atwill attended a Jesuit military academy, where most of his school day was spent studying Greek, Latin, and the Bible. In later years, he continued studying hundreds of books on the origins of Christianity, including the Dead Sea Scrolls. Recently he wrote a paper with Robert Eisenman on the dating of the Scrolls. Atwill's book Caeser's Messiah was published by Ulysses Press in 2006, becoming a best-selling work of religious history in the US in 2007. Its German translation has also achieved No. 1 Best Seller status." Covert Messiah

Psalm 119:176

First Act After Creation

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made;
and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it:
because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Genesis 2:2,3

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said,
As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest:
although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise,
And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
For if Jesus had given them rest,
then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Creation Moment 10/12/2013 - HAT-P-1

much closer to their stars than Jupiter does to our Sun, despite being roughly the same size." Space.com
"HAT-P-1b is an extrasolar planet orbiting the Sunlike star HAT-P-1, also known as ADS 16402 B. HAT-P-1 is the dimmer component of the ADS 16402 binary star system. It is located 453 light years away from Earth in the constellation Lacerta. HAT-P-1b is among the least dense of any of the known extrasolar planets." Wikipedia

Lesson from the life of sister E:

"Dear Sister E:
I have been shown that you need a thorough conversion.
You have accepted the truth,
but have not received the blessings that the truth brings,
because you have not experienced its transforming power.
    You have a selfish disposition;
you do not realize this,
but it is true.
Your principal thoughts are for yourself,
to please yourself,
to do those things which will be most agreeable to yourself,
without reference to the happiness of those around you.
You are making a mistake in searching for happiness.
If you find it, it will be in the performance of duty and the forgetfulness of self.
While your thoughts are so much upon yourself, you cannot be happy."

Creation Moment 10/11/2013 - Gliese 1214 b

"A nearby planet six times the size of the Earth is covered with a water-rich atmosphere that includes a strange "plasma form" of water, scientists say.
Astronomers have determined that the atmosphere of super-Earth Gliese 1214 b is likely water-rich. However, this exoplanet is no Earth twin. The high temperature and density of the planet give it an atmosphere that differs dramatically from Earth.
"As the temperature and pressure are so high, water is not in a usual form (vapor, liquid, or solid), but in an ionic or plasma form at the bottom the atmosphere — namely the interior — of Gliese 1214 b," principle investigator Norio Narita told SPACE.com." Space.com

From the Cross to the Mercy Seat

"There are those who listen to the theory of the truth,
and are impressed with the evidences brought out;
then,
if Christ is presented as the Saviour of the world,
the seed sown may spring up and bear fruit to the glory of God.
But often the cross of Calvary is not presented before the people.
Some may be listening to the last sermon they will ever hear,
and the golden opportunity lost, is lost forever.
If in connection with the theory of the truth,
Christ and His redeeming love had been proclaimed,
these might have been won to His side."

9 Problems with Theistic Evolution (#9)
"Ninth, in the process of evolution, is God Himself simply an entity among countless others and therefore Himself caught in the flow of history? Are human beings themselves creators and, though to a lesser extent, nonetheless similar to God? The biblical doctrine of creation safeguards the distinction between God and humanity. God is the Creator; we are the created. He is the sustainer, while we are the sustained. Such a distinction helps us avoid the temptation to make ourselves God."

Natural Law used to attack the Sabbath

From Catholic Answers website 2013

Question

"The Bible refers to Saturday as being the Sabbath. How did the Catholic Church arrive at Sunday as the Sabbath, and are we committing a mortal sin by not obeying this Commandment and keeping Saturday holy?"

Answer

"The obligation to set aside time for worship is part of the natural law that is binding on everyone. Not all of the laws found in the Old Testament are part of the natural law, and those which are not part of the natural law—e.g., the obligation to worship on Saturday—were only ever binding on the Jews. Christians are not bound by them. Since Jesus was resurrected from the dead on Sunday, it makes sense for Christians to set aside Sunday for worship....."

Response  to Catholic Answers: Where does it say that the Law of God is "natural law" ?
Natural Law definition: "Natural law, or the law of nature, is a system of law that is purportedly determined by nature, and thus universal. Classically, natural law refers to the use of reason to analyze human nature—both social and personal—and deduce binding rules of moral behavior from it." Wikipedia

"A law or body of laws that derives from nature and is believed to be binding upon human actions apart from or in conjunction with laws established by human authority." FreeDictionary

"a body of law or a specific principle held to be derived from nature and binding upon human society in the absence of or in addition to positive law." Miriam-Webster

The 10 Commandments were not determined by nature--rather--they were determined by the CREATOR..... not by His creation
And His Sabbath predates the "Jews" as a race: And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. Genesis 2:2,3
The reading of the above & below text is so clear in meaning-a child could grasp it
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God:....
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Exodus 20:10,11

9 Problems with Theistic Evolution (#8)
"Eighth, theistic evolution questions the Bible as the foundation of knowledge. Theistic evolution derives its knowledge of origins, and possibly of the nature of the universe, by observation, by natural means alone. The biblical viewpoint is that the One who spoke worlds into existence, the One who created the nature of the universe, also revealed Himself and the nature and origin of the universe that He created. Thus we depend upon God’s revelation if we are to properly carry out our human intellectual disciplines. In the biblical approach, God is the creator and grantor or knowledge, while in the evolutionary approach, human beings control knowledge. If human beings are in control of knowledge, do they in their autonomy—independence from God—finally put themselves in the place of God?" PD / E.E.Zinke

IN the NEWS - How 'ya get the Mark of the Beast implemented

"Protestants, too, stray from core Christian teaching while clinging to the Christian label.

“‘Survey Christians’ are often people who feel guilty saying they are not as religious as their parents,” said Ed Stetzer, president of LifeWay Research. “They don’t want to say ‘atheist’ — since that’s way too far — but they are not really ‘committed,’ so they just say ‘Christian’ since it is the default category from their heritage.”
That lack of doctrinal knowledge is especially apparent when researchers cut to the theological core: questions of salvation.
In a 2011 LifeWay survey  of pastors and people who attend Protestant churches, one in four churchgoers (26 percent) agreed that “If a person is sincerely seeking God, he/she can obtain eternal life through religions other than Christianity.”
This is also particularly true among the young. A separate LifeWay study of 1,200 young adults under age 30 found:
  • Nearly three in four (72 percent) call themselves “more spiritual than religious.”
  • More than two in three say they rarely or never pray with others, attend worship services, or read the Bible or other sacred texts.
  • More than one in four (28 percent) said God is “just a concept,” and four in 10 said the devil is merely a symbol.
  • Only half said that “Believing in Jesus Christ is the only way to get to heaven.”
Thom Rainer, the president of LifeWay Christian Resources who cited the research in his book on these 18-to-29-year-old millennials, called the Nominals “mushy Christians.”"RNS

These "mushy" sheeple will be easily manipulated-especially in a global crises of natural disasters or economic collapse on unheard of levels in human history - although it was predicted for human history - And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: Daniel 12:1
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Revelation 13:17

Papal Celibacy Rule....

The Catholic Church teaches celibacy for it's priesthood and pope. They claim (falsely) that the apostle Peter was the 1st "pope". But if that is true of Peter (which it isn't) then why did Peter have a wife? Kind of undermines Catholic teaching on celibacy for the priesthood & papacy doesn't it?

1) If Peter was the first "pope", .... he was married.
2) Or Peter wasn't the 1st "pope".
And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.
Matthew 18:14

Papal Notes - Obama & Pope

"President Obama said in an interview on Wednesday that he had been “hugely impressed” with Pope Francis, “not because of any particular issue” but because he seemed to be “thinking about how to embrace people as opposed to push them away.”
Pope Francis has given two interviews that were published in the last two weeks in which he has indicated that he wants to see a truce in the culture wars and that the church should put love and
mercy above doctrine and judgment. On the issues of abortion, gay marriage and contraception, Pope Francis said, “It is not necessary to talk about these issues all the time,” adding, “We have to find a new balance.”
These words may offer a ray of hope to Mr. Obama, who has been locked in a standoff with Roman Catholic bishops in the United States. The bishops are suing the Obama administration over a mandate in the president’s health care law that requires Catholic colleges and hospitals to allow their employees access to free birth control, including morning-after pills that the bishops say are abortifacients. Declaring that President Obama is a threat to the church’s religious freedom, the bishops have mounted a major campaign to rally Catholics across the country to oppose the contraception mandate.
The president did not mention all of this in the interview. He said that Francis emanated a spirit of “love and unity” through both his actions and his words.
“For any religious leader, that’s something that’s a quality I admire,” he said. “And I would argue for any leader period, that’s a quality that I admire.”" NewYorkTimes

"Seventh, theistic evolution struggles with God’s relationship to the laws of the universe. Similarly, is God the creator and grantor of freedom, or is He Himself bound by the laws of freedom? Destruction of Christianity

The Romans or Jewish leaders of the day could have DESTROYED Christianity in its infancy....

---They could have simply produced the body---

Instead we are left with the absurd notion that the peasant disciples hid while they could have saved Him, then became tough guys after the execution and overpowered a 100 man Roman guard unit only to have 11 of them die a martyrs death over a dead corpse through the years.

"Armenian genocide is shocking when you consider the scope and brutality of the event that killed 75 percent of the Armenians — a predominantly Christian group.
Armenia was a trendsetter when it came to Christianity. The country adopted that faith in 301 A.D. However, in the 15th century, the Ottoman Empire absorbed Armenia and the Armenians. The non-
Muslim Armenians were classified as “infidels” and had to pay higher taxes and saddled with fewer rights than Muslims. But in the late 1890s, Armenians were growing tired of their status as second class citizens and continued their push for more rights. In 1894, that push was met with a violent response from the Sultan who turned loose his private army on the Armenians. In the ensuing battles between 1894-96, it was reported that as many as 200,000 Armenians were killed by Sultan Abdul Hamid’s troops in what has been called the Hamidian Massacre. However, the killing of the 200,000 Armenian Christians was nothing compared to the 1915 genocide.
In 1908, a group of young Turks forced the Sultan out and took control of the government. At first they talked of bringing new freedoms to the Armenian people. Unfortunately, those freedoms never were granted by the ruling “Young Turks.” Instead the Armenians were seen as a threat to the shrinking Ottoman Empire.
1912-13 had the Turks losing huge chunks of their land to Christian regions that were breaking away. Greece, Bulgaria, and Serbia were all successful in their efforts to leave the Ottoman Empire. This was a devastating loss of power to the Turks and was the spark for even greater nationalism to foment.
Germany and Russia began warring in 1914. Turkey sided with Germany in this conflict. The Turks hoped a defeat of the Russians would help in the prospect of rebuilding their empire. In December of 1914, the Ottoman Turks tried to invade Russia, but suffered a horrible defeat. More than 100,000 Russian troops stormed across the border into Turkey and reports say that more than 5,000 Armenians helped the Russians, some even enlisting in the Russian Army.
April 24th, a group of 250 Armenian intellectual leaders of the community were rounded up and shipped off to a camp where they were killed.
Like the Nazis, many Armenians were also transported via rail. And, also like the Nazis, the Turks forced their victims to purchase tickets for the ride to their own extermination.
Small children and old people were marched over mountains and in circles, without food and water, literally until they died. Young Christian girls were defiled by the Turkish soldiers. There are reports that many killed themselves after being raped. The barbaric treatment of the Armenian women went even further.
In his post on the genocide, (The Forgotten Genocide: Why It Matters Today) Raymond Ibrahim recounted the story of a woman who claimed to have witnessed the brutal crucifixion of 16 young girls.
In her memoir, Ravished Armenia, Aurora Mardiganian described being raped and thrown into a harem (which agrees with Islam’s rules of war).  Unlike thousands of other Armenian girls who were discarded after being defiled, she managed to escape. In the city of Malatia, she saw 16 Christian girls crucified: “Each girl had been nailed alive upon her cross, spikes through her feet and hands, only their hair blown by the wind, covered their bodies.”  Such scenes were portrayed in the 1919 documentary film Auction of Souls, some of which is based on Mardiganian’s memoirs.

It’s a good bet that Turkey and its leaders do not want to use the term genocide because it would likely cost them considerable sums of money in reparations, as well as the public embarrassment they would have to endure." TheBlaze

Existentialism of Atheism

“Existentialism”, therefore, may be defined as the philosophical theory which holds that a further set of categories, governed by the norm of authenticity, is necessary to grasp human existence. To approach existentialism in this categorial way may seem to conceal what is often taken to be its “heart”, namely, its character as a gesture of protest against academic philosophy, its anti-system sensibility, its flight from the “iron cage” of reason." Muslim-Born Man Testifies: 'I've Never Seen This Type of Love Before' After Church Unites to Save His Local Business

"Kansas gas station owner has expressed his gratitude to local church members for their business after they rallied together for weeks to provide him with much needed custom after finding out about his financial woes. The Muslim-born business owner testified that he had "never seen this type of love before" as he reflected on the church's efforts to support him.

For the past five months, construction work in the vicinity of Snack Snack Phillip 66 has kept the station's business eerily quiet, severely cutting into what was a consistent source of revenue for owner Mukhtar Raja and his employees.
Over the period that the construction work was going on for, it is estimated that the business lost close to $100,000 and Raja said that he was on the verge of filing for bankruptcy.
But things changed drastically after an elder at local Cross Points Church read about Raja's dwindling funds in the local paper. He took it upon himself to tell his church about the local businessman's plight, and even connected the man's story to a book the church members were reading about prayer, and suggested that the church try and help him.
The church's leadership team embraced the idea that the church should unite to help the man, rather than try and support him individually.
Several days later, Raja visited the church to personally thank Jones for his congregation's actions. Last week, he also told Jones that he wanted to come to church........ ChristianPost
