And the wise among the people shall make many understand,
though for some days they shall stumble by sword and flame,
by captivity and plunder.
Daniel 11:33 ESV

IN the NEWS - Copeland Calls for End of Reformation

and his deadly wound was healed:
and all the world wondered after the beast.
Revelation 13:3
"Protestant" Kenneth Copeland calls for an end to the Reformation just a week before the 500th anniversary. This heretic wants spiritual peace with a Jesuit run Papacy. UNBELIEVABLE.
Prophecy being fulfilled right before your eyes of the End Times....

"When the leading churches of the United States, uniting upon such
Copeland & Francis
points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the state to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result.

The Scriptures teach that popery is to regain its lost supremacy, and that the fires of persecution will be rekindled through the time-serving concessions of the so-called Protestant world."
Maranatha p.195 E.G.W.

IN the NEWS - Still Pimping....

When a coin in the coffer rings,
a soul from purgatory springs
Johann Tetzel

"When Martin Luther heard that catchy jingle sung by Johann Tetzel while raising funds for Saint Peter’s Basillica, it sparked the Protestant Reformation.

The Roman Catholic church was pimping purgatory as a system
of religious blackmail, holding souls in a contrived spiritual prison until enough money had greased the palms of the Pope, and Luther had enough of it.

It wasn’t until later that Luther, driven by a conviction against the infallibility of the Pope, reconsidered the doctrine of Justification and found problems far deeper than the perversity of indulgences.

The fact is, five hundred years later, the Roman Catholic church is still pimping purgatory as a system of religious blackmail.

The Papacy is reminding the idolaters of the Roman Catholic
church that people can receive indulgences up until November 26, 2017. Until this date has passed, Roman Catholic may receive indulgences in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Fatima, in which apparitions of the Virgin” Mary appeared in Portugal.

A plenary indulgence, which removes all of the temporal punishment for sin (as opposed to a partial indulgence), is being given for those who travel to the idol of Mary called the Fatima Shrine and pray in front f it.

This, of course, is designed to boost the tourist dollars collected through the shrine. The Roman Catholic church has set up and sponsored tourism sites across the world to take “pilgrims” to the Shrine of Fatima and capitalize on the special indulgence.

That’s right. For the low-low price of only $3,250 you can join the good archbishop to visit the idol and receive your get-out-of-purgatory-free card. If that’s too much, you can forgo the archbishop and travel with lowly priest from $1,850." Pulpit&Pen

For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:8

Luther's Christmas Eve Service -1522 (highlights)

"It is written in the book of Nehemiah chapter 4 that the Jews, in rebuilding Jerusalem, wrought with one hand and with the other held the sword, because of the enemy who sought to hinder the building.
Paul in Titus 1:9 carries out the thought of the symbol in this teaching....
Accordingly, we are to make a twofold use of the Word of God:
With one hand we must
build,
improve,
teach and feed all Christendom;
with the other,
oppose the devil,
the heretics,
the world.

Paul teaches what should be the one theme of Titus and of every other preacher, namely, Christ.
Paul condemns the favors of the world and of men as pernicious, worthy of condemnation, ineffectual;...And Paul declares in Galatians 1:10, "If I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of Christ."

At first Christ preached the Gospel and only in the land of the Jews, knowledge the Holy Scriptures being confined to that nation, as Psalm 76:2 and Psalm 147:19 declare.
But afterward the Word was made free to all men; not confined to any particular section.
Psalm 19:4 declares, "Their line is gone out through the earth, and their words to the end of the world."

But you may object, "Surely the words of the apostles did not, in their time, reach the end of the world; for nearly eight hundred years elapsed after the apostolic age before Germany was converted, and also recent discoveries show there are many islands and many countries where no indication of the grace of God appeared before the century."
I reply: The apostle has reference to character of the Gospel. It is a message calculated, from the nature of its inception and purpose, to go into all the world. At the time of the apostles it had already entered the greater and better part of the world.

Paul speaks of "denying," or renouncing. Therein he rejects many foolish expedients devised by men for attaining righteousness. Some run to the wilderness, some into cloisters.
 Now, if ungodliness and worldly lusts were but something painted upon the wall, you might escape them by running out of the house;
But since they inhere in your heart and permeate you through and through,
where can you flee that you will not carry them with you?
What can you wear under which you will escape them?
What will you eat and drink wherein they will not be with you?
In a word, what can you do to escape yourself, since you cannot get out of yourself?
Dear man, the great temptations are within you. To run away from them would necessitate, first, fleeing from yourself. James says 1:14, "Each man is tempted, when he is driven away by his own lust, and enticed."

The apostle means, not simply that we must flee the outward temptations to sin, but, as he says, that we must "deny" them, must mortify the lusts, or desires, within ourselves.

^The way of God does not require us to build churches and cathedrals, to make pilgrimages, to hear mass, and so on.
^God requires a heart moved by his grace, a life mistrustful of all ways not emanating from grace.

Many depend upon purgatory, living as it pleases them to the end and expecting to profit by vigils and soulmasses after death.
Truly, they will fail to receive profit therein. It were well had purgatory never been conceived of. Belief in purgatory suppresses much good, establishes many cloisters and monasteries and employs numerous priests and monks.
It is a serious drawback to these three features of Christian living: soberness, righteousness and godliness. Moreover, God has not commanded, nor even mentioned, purgatory. The doctrine is wholly, or for the most part, deception; God pardon me if I am wrong." Martin Luther

Burning the Bull

We ought to obey God rather than men.
Acts 5:29
"Exsurge Domine!” “Arise, O God!” With that Latin phrase the Roman commission commenced the papal bull drafted to excommunicate the “heretic,” Martin Luther.
The draft was delivered to Leo X on May 2, 1520 as he was at a hunting lodge retreating in pursuit of wild boars. The context was fitting, as the bull continued by pleading for God to arise and act “against the foxes and wild boar who are destroying the vineyard of the Lord, who had bestowed jurisdiction over it to Peter and his successors.”
For the Roman Curia, Luther and his writings had gone too far.

The bull was dated June 15th of 1520, and listed forty-one statements from Luther which it considered deviations from church doctrine.

These dealt with such sundry topics as penance, indulgences, sin remaining after baptism, confession, faith, the demand for both kinds in the sacrament, etc.
Likewise it also called for all of Luther’s books to be burned so as to prevent others from reading them and being infected by them. It also gave Luther sixty days to recant everything.

So, what did Luther do when the bull arrived in Wittenberg in October of that same year? Immediately he did nothing, at least not necessarily anything with the bull per se.
He continued to write and in his writings he persisted in professing the assumption that this bull was the work of his nemesis, John Eck.

However, when the sixty days came to an end, Luther did not stand idly by.
Making a great statement, one in direct reciprocation to the burning of his works, he gathered a crowd in Wittenberg and burned the canon law of the church.
This statement made the point that these teachings were the heretical ones.  These teachings, not Luther’s writings, were in direct opposition to Scripture. In his great act of defiance, he then also set ablaze the bull, Exsurge Domine."

Brief E.G.W. Comments on the REFORMATION

"Oh, how precious to Luther was this new and glorious light which had dawned upon his dark understanding and driven away his superstition! He prized it higher than the richest earthly treasure.

The Word of God was new. Everything was changed.
The book he had dreaded because he could not see beauty in it, was now life, eternal life, to him.
It was his *joy, his *consolation, his *blessed teacher.

Raising his voice against the errors and sins of the papal church, he earnestly endeavored to break the chain of darkness which was confining thousands and causing them to trust in works for salvation.

God raised up men to cry against the existing sins of the papal church and carry forward the Reformation. Satan sought to destroy these living witnesses; but the Lord made a hedge about them.
Some, for the glory of His name, were permitted to seal with their blood the testimony they had borne; but there were other powerful men, like Luther and Melanchthon, who could best glorify God by living and exposing the sins of priests, popes, and kings."
