The Great Controversy in the Books of the Old Testament SERIES: Genesis
GENESIS:
In Genesis God leaned over and breathed the breath of life into Adam. But where the 1st Adam failed, the 2nd Adam (Christ) succeeded.
Christ-the 2nd Adam
In Genesis God leaned over and breathed the breath of life into Adam. But where the 1st Adam failed, the 2nd Adam (Christ) succeeded.
Christ-the 2nd Adam
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.
Genesis 2:7
The first man Adam was made a living soul;
the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Papal Notes - That Road...
"During the first-ever visit by a pope to an Anglican church in Rome, Francis pointed to the spiritual attitude of humility necessary for Christian unity, and made clear that ecumenism "cannot be done in a laboratory -- it has to be done on the road."
Citing joint prayer services and the many forms of service Catholics and Anglicans do together, the pope gave thanks that “among Christians the desire has grown for greater closeness.”
Francis’s visit also marked the official twinning of All Saints with the Catholic parish of Ognissanti (which also means ‘All Saints’), the titular church of German Cardinal Walter Kasper, former president of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Christian Unity and a theologian Francis highly esteems.
This ecumenical path through service is something he spoke about again in the “off-the-cuff” segment of the visit.
Francis’s approach, which is centered in “walking and collaborating” together towards Christian unity.
He cited another example of an invitation he had received from an ecumenical delegation of bishops from South Sudan. An Anglican, a Catholic bishops and a Presbyterian leader jointly asked him to
visit the country together with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.
Francis said it was still unclear if the trip would be possible because of the current situation. But if it does happen, the gesture would be meant as a sign of unity in a country that is currently divided by an ethnic war that has led to the world’s first famine in six years." CRUX

The "Really" File - (Wonder Woman & Prophecy?)
Let them alone:
they be blind leaders of the blind.
And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
Matthew 15:14
What kind of "prophetic interpretation" is this that uses Hollywood movies?
What kind of nonsense is going on out there in "Christendom" these days?....
ARE THESE PEOPLE SERIOUS?
"June 2nd, Wonder Woman will be released. Revelation 12:1:
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars...
From the "Really" File |
God's own sign of the "wonder woman" will appear in the sky over Israel several months after this movie is released.
In the year that could possibly see the resurrection, transformation, and rapture of the saints, Hollywood will be releasing The Mummy, Power Rangers, and Transformers: The Last Knight." 2017:Unsealed
REALLY?
SDA Issues - Itching Ears of CrossWalk?
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine;
but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2 Timothy 4:3
{P.S.-At the bottom of the page will be comments from the late C.D. Brooks on this subject}
CrossWalk "SDA" Church (headed by pastor Tim Gillespie) in Redlands, California claims to be an
"innovative" church within Adventism...Let's hope this IS NOT the wave of the future for our Church...Tim Gillespie will be a speaker at the gathering of One Project (sort of an Adventist version of the Emergent Church targeting youth).
CrossWalk is an Adventist Church? What is happening to Adventism? How has this crept into the open? No wonder the self proclaimed progressives despise the S.O.P., downplay doctrine and read Spectrum...just saying, but wow!...I'm starting not to recognize Adventism anymore....Check out their pics below....how is this Adventist? Where is the REVERENCE for God?Is CrossWalk just a Joel Osteen type of fluff/cheap grace church but with a hipper emergent church image in style focused on self esteem feel goodism blended with replacing the Biblical gospel with the social gospel?...just asking....
From their website.....
Are they selling coffee in the church lot ?
|
(going to church isn't supposed to be about your desire for "attention" or "space")
"We now offer 2 services: 10am and 11:30am. Come early and hang out in our CrossWalk Cafe, drop off your kids, and enjoy uninterrupted church. Pick your kids up, and you are done by 11:15am!"
(You go to church to "hang out" in a "café"? Really???)
What is Adventist about this? It's all focused on "me, me, me-ism"... |
This is an Adventist service these days? |
Like the late C.D. Brooks preached "I want my Church back."
Here are some excerpts from C.D. Brooks Famous Sermon....how applicable
"We are now facing an unusual time in which those on the inside of our church are questioning our distinctive teachings and doctrines more than those who despise us. Many of us are walking away
from the mandate that God gave to us.
A brilliant professional friend of mine called me long distance. In an almost desperate tone, he said, "Charles, I want my church back!"
We must preach our message. All of it! There are forces that seem to be dismantling what was so laboriously put together under the indispensable aid of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Spirit is not one to foster confusion, and He does not divide the saints. He may bring separation from the mixed multitude, but not from the saints.
Amongst us there are those who appear to be tired of our message, bored with it. There is a swelling cry for something different, unique. Some are saying, "We want a modern message designed for young people." That does not go along with the awesome prophecy of Malachi 4, for when the Elijah message comes, just before the great and dreadful day of the Lord, the Bible says the hearts of the fathers and the children will be turned together. We are not to be divided by age and generation.
My beloved fellow workers, loose liberalism does not accomplish what we think it will accomplish.
A young woman who had always been friendly came to church loaded down with jewelry. When I approached her, ready to speak, she wouldn't even look at me. She avoided me. She couldn't be friendly as usual. No wonder our churches are turning cold! It's because our members remain guilt-ridden and insecure and not sure of what they really stand for. They hear about easy divorce, about moral falls even in the ministry, Sabbaths on the golf course, or on the bicycle trail, or at the beach, theater-going, attacks on Ellen G. White. Whats' happening amongst us?....our members wonder, "Whats happening to us? Is the Holy Ghost still with us?" Many who feel a lack of the Spirit are trying to compensate with a shaking, rocking, rollicking religion. They want to feel good. But that good feeling will replace their faith and it will be wiped out in a crisis.
Some among us are questioning things that have been worked out by the Holy Ghost in human history and in my life's history and yours. There will always be some excess baggage. But dont throw everything away. The Apostle said, "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good". Instead, many are trying to satisfy themselves rather than pray and study. They want to reason things out with unsanctified minds. They're starting from the wrong position and will never arrive at spiritual fulfillment, but rather at compounded delusions. For spiritual things are spiritually discerned.
When they worshiped the golden calf, God was about to move with vengeance and wrath. Moses stood between Him and the people. God didn't say, "What theyre doing is all right." No, indeed. He told the people to take off their jewelry. "Take it off," He said, "that I may know what to do unto you." Then, the Bible says, they "stripped themselves of their ornaments by the mount Horeb".
Im saying with my friend, "I want my church back."
Now Im going to read to you what Ellen White says:
Selected Messages, book 2, p. 36: "The Lord"
Who?
[Audience:] "The Lord."
"The Lord has shown me what would take place just before the close of probation. Every uncouth thing will be demonstrated. There will be shouting, with drums, music, and dancing. The senses of r
ational beings will become so confused that they cannot be trusted to make right decisions. And this is called the moving of the Holy Spirit."
In the very next line she says, "The Holy Spirit never reveals itself in such methods, in such a bedlam of noise."
I dont believe the drum is a bigger sinner than the trumpet or the psaltery or the harp. It's what we do with it! So Satan had a huddle, and he said to his imps, "Lets develop crossover."
Why would a saint want to crossover?
"Lets develop crossover!" said the devil. "Lets blend some of ours with some of theirs."
Fifty-four years ago I joined this church. Ive been somewhat educated, illuminated, experienced. I'm getting ready to retire. But I want to tell you, nothings changed. We've matured, and we've been enlightened. People are meaner, more immoral. But nothings changed. God's law is still a transcript of His character. It's too high for us, so He gave us a ladder called grace that we might climb up.
The sanctuary is still in heaven. It isn't going anywhere just because some say it doesn't really exist. Judgment is still going on. God still hates pride. Dead folk are still dead. Christ is still our only Savior. None but the righteous shall see God. We've got to be without spot or wrinkle or any such thing. We've got to be covered with His righteousness alone. He still sends the Holy Ghost. And He is still seeking the lost. He is still saving sinners. And it is possible to delight ourselves in the Lord and the truth. Our message is still valid.
Brethren, this truth will win souls. You don't need to play games and fool people. This truth, with its dignity and power, this truth attended by the Holy Ghost will win souls of the best kind.
I want my church back! "
Creation Moment 2/28/2017 - States of Confusion in "Science"
"There is a deeper issue here: science not by press conference but presented as an event. What in reality is a long, messy and convoluted process of three steps forward and two steps back is too easily presented as giant leaps between states of confusion and blinding revelation. At the heart of this theatre is the artificial landmark of a peer-reviewed paper."

Rejoicing in the Lord

All have trials; griefs hard to bear, temptations hard to resist. Do not tell your troubles to your fellow mortals, but carry everything to God in prayer.
Satan is exultant when he can lead the children of God into unbelief and despondency. He delights to see us mistrusting God, doubting His willingness and power to save us. He fills the imagination with false ideas concerning God; Many, walking along the path of life, dwell upon their mistakes and failures and disappointments, and their hearts are filled with grief and discouragement. Jesus is our friend; all heaven is interested in our welfare.
Christians who gather up gloom and sadness to their souls, and murmur and complain, are giving to others a false representation of God and the Christian life. They give the impression that God is not pleased to have His children happy, and in this they bear false witness against our heavenly Father.
Have there not been some bright spots in your experience? Have you not had some precious seasons when your heart throbbed with joy in response to the Spirit of God? When you look back into the chapters of your life experience do you not find some pleasant pages?
When we seem to doubt God's love and distrust His promises we dishonor Him and grieve His Holy Spirit. And yet how many, by their actions, if not in word, are saying, "The Lord does not mean this for me. Perhaps He loves others, but He does not love me." All this is harming your own soul; If God, the divine Artist, gives to the simple flowers that perish in a day their delicate and varied colors, how much greater care will He have for those who are created in His own image?.... and there is joy in heaven in the presence of God and the holy angels over one soul redeemed....
He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32
Like the Days of Noah...
And spared not the old world,
but saved Noah the eighth person,
a preacher of righteousness,
bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
2 Peter 2:5
"In Noah's day there were men who laughed to scorn his words of warning. They said that nature was governed by fixed laws which made a flood impossible, and that if there were any truth in what he said, the great men, the wise and prudent, would understand the matter. There was total disbelief in Noah's testimony in regard to the coming judgments; but this unbelief did not prevent or hinder the gathering storm. Reader, another storm is coming. The earth will again be swept by the desolating wrath of God, and again sin and sinners will be destroyed." BibleUniverse
On the Streets of Babylon: Map of Illinois & "Rapture"?
Babylon is fallen, is fallen,...
Come out of her, my people,
Revelation 14:8/18:4
There seem to be some on the Streets of Babylon who think 2017-2024 is a 7 year window for the mythical "secret rapture" to occur....(and using a map of Illinois to prove it)
"This is a theory regarding the Tribulation beginning in Fall 2017 and ending in Fall 2024. For evidence that we are in the general season of the Lord's return.....
We refuse to buy into the "Thus saith the LORD" crowd when it comes to rapture/Tribulation/Second Coming dates: Matthew 24:36, Mark 13:32. HOWEVER, we also refuse to buy into the logic used by the mockers who say it's useless to research and watch. Jesus did say we cannot know the day or hour, but He also IMPLORED us to watch for the signs and to know the season...
Randy Nettles has article on this piece of evidence, plus other reasons he thinks the Tribulation could be from 2017 to 2024.
2017 to 2024 offers the only timeline in recent memory where the Tribulation of 2550 days could begin unquestionably on a Fall Feast date and end on a Fall Feast date. In fact, the alignment is kind of shocking: exactly 2550 days fits with the Tribulation beginning on the last day of the last Fall Feast (Tabernacles, October 11th, 2017) and ending on the first day of the first Fall Feast (Rosh Hashanah, October 4th, 2024). This is particularly interesting in light of the likely possibility Jesus will fulfill the final three Fall Feasts in short, subsequent order while on earth, just as He fulfilled the
Spring Feasts. The Second Coming could be on the Feast of Trumpets in 2024, allowing Jesus to fulfill that feast, followed 10 days later by a fulfillment of the Day of Atonement, and 5 days after that by a fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles...... Though Jonathan Cahn found an amazing pattern, he was looking at when economic crashes began, not when they reached their worst point. In the previous two cycles, the crashes reached their worst points in 2009 and 2002, respectively, not 2008 and 2001. According to what many think is a more accurate Shemitah and Jubilee cycle, the next Shemitah year is actually 2016/2017 and the next Jubilee year is 2017/2018. ....This specific time period is demarcated by two total solar eclipses forming an 'X' right over the chief Gentile and Evangelical nation on earth - the United States. The point on the map where the two eclipses intersect is a region of Illinois known as "Little Egypt" and often just "Egypt". The world may very well be undergoing a replay of the events of Exodus." Little Horn & Beast: The Same
DANIEL 7..............................REVELATION 13
*The Little Horn of Daniel & Beast of Revelation ARE one and the same....some mistakenly disconnect the 2 and make the Little Horn some obscure Greek ruler named Antiochus IV Epiphanes and the Beast they declare to be either Nero or a future antichrist. But the true identity would be who the Reformers said that Little Horn/Beast power to be on the pages of history--the institution of Papal Rome...
Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night and behold,
the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
And I stood upon the sand of the sea,
and saw a beast rise up out of the sea,
having seven heads and ten horns,
and upon his horns ten crowns,
and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
*The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings:
I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth,
and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.
*And behold another beast, a second,
like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side,
and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it:
and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
*After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard,
which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl;
the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
After this I saw in the night visions,
*and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly;
and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces,
and stamped the residue with the feet of it:
and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it;
and it had ten horns.
And the beast which I saw was like unto a *leopard,
and his feet were as the feet of a *bear,
and his mouth as the mouth of a *lion:
and the dragon gave him his power,
and his seat, and great authority.
I considered the horns, and, behold,
there came up among them another little horn,
before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots:
and, (1) behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man,
and a mouth speaking great things.
I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them.
And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise:
and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first,
and he shall subdue three kings.
(2) And he shall speak great words against the most High,
(5) and shall wear out the saints of the most High,
(4) and think to change times and laws:
(3) and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death;
and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast:
and they worshipped the beast, saying,
Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies;
(3) and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
(2) And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name,
and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
(5) And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them:
and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him,
whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb
slain from the foundation of the world.
And that no man might buy or sell,
(4) save he that had the mark,
or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Here is wisdom.
Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast:
(1) for it is the number of a man;
and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
The beasts arise 'out of the sea', 'up from the sea'
'like unto a leopard', 'another, like a leopard'
'feet of a bear', 'like to a bear'
'mouth of a lion', 'was like a lion'
'the dragon', 'a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible'
'seven heads', (the four beasts have a total of 7 heads)
'ten horns', 'it had ten horns'
'forty and two months', 'time, times, and dividing of time'
'number of a man', 'eyes of a man'
'blasphemy against God', 'speak great words'
'make war with the saints', 'made war with the saints'
'gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority', "fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly... and it had ten horns.'
'wounded to death'
'and his deadly wound was healed'
'all the world wondered...and they worshipped the beast "shall be diverse"
'And he causeth all, to receive a mark',
'think to change times and laws:'
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield
yourselves servants to obey,
his servants ye are to whom ye obey;

Creation Moment 2/27/2017 - Neandertal hyoid
"Biblical creationists have long regarded Neandertals as fully human, post-Flood (indeed, post-Babel) descendants of Adam. For a long time, however, it was assumed by secularists that these people, ‘dated’ to as much as 300,000 years ago, were incapable of human speech. (This assumption also suited the most common ‘old-earth creationist’ position. Such so-called ‘progressive creationism’ tries to maintain Genesis as historical apart from the biblical time frame by accepting secular dates, so is locked into regarding Neandertals as spiritless prehuman animals. But this idea suffered a body-blow recently when DNA showed they interbred with other humans.)
...the assumption that they couldn’t talk was challenged by the discovery of a Neandertal hyoid bone
in Israel’s Kebara cave. The hyoid, a bone associated with the larynx (voicebox), looked just like ours. This bone, the one bone in the body not attached to another bone, supports the root of the tongue, so is crucial in our speech ability. In non-human primates, its placement does not permit speech. Now an international team has determined via 3D imaging and careful micro-modelling that the Kebara hyoid was actually used just like ours—in complex human speech. Prof. Stephen Wroe of Australia’s University of New England commented, “If Neanderthals also had language then they were truly human, too”.
This further confirmation of the Genesis framework of human history is seen by secularists as pushing the origins of speech back to a surprising degree. A similar hyoid has been found in Spain in association with Homo heidelbergensis. These people were extremely similar to Neandertals, and also fully human, a post-Babel population. Analyses of certain vocal tract and auditory structures from their crania have already suggested that they were capable of speech. Creationists expect that similar modelling on this hyoid, when complete, will very likely show that this individual, too, had modern human speech capability, contrary to the even greater alleged ‘dates’ (500,000 years ago)." What to Do With Doubt
Audio:
https://www.youtube.com/embed/kk3isFztsTw?list=PL4ByrircmXL7byOGrccow6FzaDRVol_C
Those who wish to doubt will have opportunity; while those who really desire to know the truth will find plenty of evidence on which to rest their faith.
God never asks us to believe, without giving sufficient evidence upon which to base our faith. Because they cannot fathom all its mysteries, the skeptic and the infidel reject God's word; and not all who profess to believe the Bible are free from danger on this point. When we come to the Bible, reason must acknowledge an authority superior to itself, and heart and intellect must bow to the great I AM. Disguise it as they may, the real cause of doubt and skepticism, in most cases, is the love of sin.
The difficulties of Scripture have been urged by skeptics as an argument against the Bible; but so far from this, they constitute a strong evidence of its divine inspiration. If it contained no account of God but that which we could easily comprehend; if His greatness and majesty could be grasped by finite minds, then the Bible would not bear the unmistakable credentials of divine authority.
The apostle Paul exclaims, O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out! Romans 11:33

The Coming Wrath
The wrath to come.
Matthew 3:7
"It is pleasant to pass over a country after a storm has spent itself;
to smell the freshness of the herbs after the rain has passed away,
and to note the drops while they glisten like purest diamonds in the sunlight.
That is the position of a Christian.
He is going through a land where the storm has spent itself upon His Savior's head,
and if there be a few drops of sorrow falling,
they distil from clouds of mercy.
How terrible to await the dread advance of a hurricane-such as occurs, sometimes,
in the tropics-to wait in terrible apprehension till the wind shall rush forth in fury,
tearing up trees from their roots, forcing rocks from their pedestals,
and hurling down all the dwelling-places of man!
And yet, sinner, this is your present position.
No hot drops have as yet fallen, but a shower of fire is coming.
Where, where, where, O sinner, wilt thou hide thy head, or whither wilt thou flee?
O that the hand of mercy may now lead you to Christ!
He is freely set before you in the gospel:
His riven side is the rock of shelter."
Charles Spurgeon
Archean Rocks of the Flood
"Sulfur dioxide (SO2) is one of the main gases emitted from volcanic eruptions. It’s poisonous with an irritating, pungent, and rotten smell. Inhalation can cause breathing difficulty, disease, and premature death. When released from volcanic eruptions it poses a hazard to people, animals, and vegetation. Local to the eruption it can cause acid rain and air pollution. If large volumes of sulphur dioxide aerosols are injected into the stratosphere it can deplete the earth’s ozone layer and lower surface temperatures.
Komatiites are submarine lavas that erupted at high temperature (1600°C compared with 1100 to 1250°C for basalt lavas). Thus, they were extremely fluid, and flowed rapidly like water across the surface, compare with basaltic lava, which flows like honey. Komatiite was named after the Komati River in South Africa, which is its type locality.
Like basaltic lava, komatiite lava originated when part of the mantle rock inside the earth melted. The difference between komatiite and basalt is that, because of the higher temperatures involved, a greater proportion (around 50%) of the mantle rock melted producing the komatiite lava. As a result komatiites are rich in magnesium oxide (MgO).
The Archean is regarded as the period from 2.5 billion to 4.0 billion years ago, within the evolutionary, long-age paradigm. Komatiites are mainly restricted to rocks of Archean ‘age’. Within evolutionary thinking, the restriction to the Archean is explained as:

- the early earth having a much higher temperature due to residual heat after the planet supposedly accreted, and
- a greater heat production due to more radioactive elements in the mantle.
From the abstract of Prof Fiorentini’s lecture we read:
Komatiites are ancient submarine lavas that erupted over 2.5 billion years ago. These hot and highly turbulent flows entrained discrete sulfide liquids that concentrated nickel, copper and the platinum group elements locally to economic proportions. … measurements on sulfides from komatiites and local volcanogenic and sedimentary country rocks indicate that sulfur degassing during volcanism may have played a key role in the mineralizing process. … pervasive (>90%) sulfur loss from sulfide-saturated komatiite lavas, dominantly in the form of SO2 gas. This … had the potential to influence the geochemical evolution of the atmosphere and ocean on Archean Earth. Rapid sulfur degassing
associated with such voluminous and cataclysmic eruptions was most likely a contributing factor for economic mineralization.
*Notice the komatiite lavas are described as “hot and highly turbulent”, and as erupting under water. *Notice too that the volcanic eruptions are pictured as “voluminous and cataclysmic”, which is much more dramatic than the volcanic eruptions that are occurring today.
*And finally, the abstract says that the sulphur gasses released had the potential to significantly alter the atmosphere.

Conclusion
According to the historical record in Genesis, six times during Creation Week, the creation was described as “good” (Genesis 1: 4,10,12,18,21,25). And at the end of the sixth day, when creation was finished, God described the whole of creation as “very good” (v. 31). Sulfur dioxide degassing into the atmosphere from exceptionally hot, voluminous and cataclysmic komatiite lavas does not impress me as being “very good”. Consequently, I am not keen to assign these violent, toxic volcanic eruptions to Creation Week. Rather, I think it is more likely that they erupted early during the Flood. In that case, it suggests that exceptional heating within the earth itself preceded the initiation of the Flood, when “all the springs of the great deep burst forth.” (Genesis 7:11)." And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Genesis 1:5
"It is axiomatic that a Biblical text cannot be properly interpreted unless its genre is known. This is particularly true for poetry vis-à-vis prose. The goal of this study was to determine the genre of Genesis 1:1–2:3 and to explore the hermeneutical implications of this finding.
An alternative approach therefore was undertaken to address this problem:
a statistical analysis of countable linguistic features.
Two populations were identified using the descriptive methods well documented in the literature. A stratified random sample from each population was generated and the finite verb distribution for each was determined.
Side-by-side scatter plots of the ratio of preterites to total finite verbs for each text in the narrative sample vis-à-vis those in the poetry sample revealed that this ratio varies with genre to the extent that it could have the inferential capacity to classify texts.
To determine if this was the case, the null hypothesis H0, that a logistic regression model derived from the relative frequency of preterites observed in the joint-sample classifies texts according to genre no better than chance classification, was tested against the alternative hypothesis H1, that the model classifies texts better. This null hypothesis was rejected with p <.0001.
In addition, the model was found to reduce the number of classification errors in the sample by more than 96% when compared to random classification. When extended to the population level, it was found that our logistic regression model based on relative frequency of preterites yields a superb protocol (between 85.5 and 95.5% reduction in the number of classification errors) for categorizing texts as narrative or poetry at a 95% confidence level.
The logistic regression model calculates the probability that a text is a narrative. For Genesis 1:1–2:3, this probability is between 0.999942 and 0.999987 at a 99.5% confidence level. Thus, we conclude with statistical certainty that this text is narrative, not poetry. It is therefore statistically indefensible to argue that this text is poetry. The hermeneutical implication of this finding is that this text should be read as other historical narratives, whose authors evinced supererogatory concern with the past and staunchly upheld the historicity of their accounts even to the point of challenging their contemporaries to prove or disprove their documented historical references." The Privilege of Prayer

Through *nature and *revelation, through *His providence, and by *the influence of His Spirit, God speaks to us. But these are not enough; we
need also to pour out our hearts to Him. In order to have spiritual life we must have actual intercourse with our heavenly Father. In order to commune with God, we must have something to say to Him concerning our actual life.
Our heavenly Father waits to bestow upon us the fullness of His blessing. It is our privilege to drink largely at the fountain of boundless love. What a wonder it is that we pray so little! If we regard iniquity in our hearts, if we cling to any known sin, the Lord will not hear us; but the prayer of the penitent, contrite soul is always accepted. Unceasing prayer is the unbroken union of the soul with God. Make every effort to keep open the communion between Jesus and your own soul.
Keep your wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares, and your fears before God. You cannot burden Him; you cannot weary Him. He who numbers the hairs of your head is not indifferent to the wants of His children. The Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. James 5:11. His heart of love is touched by our sorrows and even by our utterances of them. Take to Him everything that perplexes the mind. Nothing is too great for Him to bear, for He holds up worlds, He rules over all the affairs of the universe. Nothing that in any way concerns our peace is too small for Him to notice. There is no chapter in our experience too dark for Him to read; there is no perplexity too difficult for Him to unravel....no sincere prayer escape the lips, of which our heavenly Father is unobservant, or in which He takes no immediate interest.
The soul may ascend nearer heaven on the wings of praise.
The Angels of God
"The angels of God in heaven that have never fallen do His will
continually. In all that they do upon their busy errands of mercy to our world, shielding, guiding, and guarding the workmanship of God for ages--both the just and the unjust-- they can truthfully say, "All is Thine. Of Thine own do we give Thee." Would that the human eye could catch glimpses of the service of the angels! Would that the imagination could grasp and dwell upon the rich, the glorious service of the angels of God and the conflicts in which they engage in behalf of men to protect, to lead, to win, and to draw them from Satan's snares. How different would be the conduct, the religious sentiment!"

For he shall give his angels charge over thee,
to keep thee in all thy ways.

Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength,
that do his commandments,
hearkening unto the voice of his word.

God "Dims" His Eyes for You
--Read Genesis 27-33--
And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old,
and his eyes were dim,
so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son,
and said unto him, My son:
Genesis 27:1
Summary-Isaac wants to bless his 1st born Esau. His mother Rebekah overhears and plots to send in her other son Jacob to steal the blessing. She disguises him with Esau's clothes & animal coverings on his hands for hair like Esau. Typology of Players:
Isaac - God the Father (who gives the blessing after an Investigative Judgment of his son)
Esau - Christ (the one we must appear like in the Fathers eyes so as to pass)
Rebekah - Holy Spirit (the one who guides us in what we must do)
Jacob - Us (we must be covered like Esau for our Judgment-covered in his garments)
Jacob (shifting to a type for Christ) then leaves to a foreign land to get his "Bride" (Church) and multiplies his "Flocks" (people)
Jacob returns to meet Esau.
Jacob sends out 3 Messengers to soften the heart of Esau. (3 Angel's Message's)
God Longs for the Esau's of the world to run to Him at His return
And Esau ran to meet him,
and embraced him,
and fell on his neck,
and kissed him:
and they wept.
Genesis 33:4
God "Dims His Eyes" so as to see Christ on you in your Judgment
Creation Moment 2/25/2017 - God's Instruments (The Laws of Nature)
"In dwelling upon the laws of matter and the laws of nature, many lose sight of, if they do not deny, the continual and direct agency of God. They convey the idea that nature acts independently of God,
having in and of itself its own limits and its own powers wherewith to work. In their minds there is a marked distinction between the natural and the supernatural. The natural is ascribed to ordinary causes, unconnected with the power of God. Vital power is attributed to matter, and nature is made a deity. It is supposed that matter is placed in certain relations and left to act from fixed laws with which God Himself cannot interfere; that nature is endowed with certain properties and placed subject to laws, and is then left to itself to obey these laws and perform the work originally commanded.
This is false science; there is nothing in the word of God to sustain it. God does not annul His laws, but He is continually working through them, using them as His instruments. They are not self-working. God is perpetually at work in nature. She is His servant, directed as He pleases. Nature in her work testifies of the intelligent presence and active agency of a being who moves in all His works according to His will. It is not by an original power inherent in nature that year by year the earth yields its bounties and continues its march around the sun. The hand of infinite power is perpetually at work guiding this planet." Testimonies for the Church vol.8,p.259,260 E.G.W.When He uttereth His voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; . . . He maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of His treasures. Jeremiah 10:13

A Knowledge of God

The Bible was not written for the scholar alone; on the contrary, it was designed for the common people. The great truths necessary for salvation are
made as clear as noonday;
The noble powers of the mind may be so dwarfed by lack of exercise on themes worthy of their concentration as to lose their ability to grasp the deep meaning of the word of God. The mind will enlarge if it is employed in tracing out the relation of the subjects of the Bible. If God's word were studied as it should be, men would have *a breadth of mind, *a nobility of character, and *a stability of purpose rarely seen in these times.
Our Savior bound up His precious lessons with the things of nature. ... above all that is outwardly attractive He loves beauty of character; He would have us cultivate purity and simplicity, the quiet graces of the flowers. Fill the whole heart with the words of God. They are the living water, quenching your burning thirst. Our bodies are built up from what we eat and drink; and as in the natural economy, ... it is what we meditate upon that will give tone and strength to our spiritual nature.
No tears are shed that God does not notice.
The theme of redemption is one that the angels desire to look into; it will be the science and the song of the redeemed throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity.
The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63
