IN the NEWS - Lindell, Driscoll and a Male Stripper: State of Christendom

The Fallen State of Babylon:
I'm no fan of Mark Driscoll (the neo-Calvinist and charismatic believing minister known as the "cussing pastor" in his past)----BUT he was right to call out Lindell in public---for Lindell provided this "entertainment" in public for all to see.
1)
"Pastor" Lindell brought an actual male stripper from Vegas to a Christian men's event.
2) He performed on a stripper pole and ripped off his shirt then proceeded to swallow a sword.
3) Driscoll called out Lindell for bringing him in to perform.
4) Lindell lost his cool when called out.
5) Lindell hid behind "Matthew 18" to lash out in self-defense. Notice, Lindell didn't recognize his error of his ways. Rather he doubled down. The fact that he flew into a rage on stage for being called out by Driscoll tells us 2 things.
First, even if Driscoll approached him in private, he would not have acknowledged his error.
And second, based on Lindell's reaction publicly he obviously has been doing things questionable for a while and was hardened enough to feel no shame---even in public. (in fact, so far since this event, he has yet to repent of his questionable choice of "entertainment" and instead has called on Driscoll to "repent"!!!....hence Lindell still doesn't see the error of his ways).
6) As for Lindell hiding behind Scripture when called out---let's remember even Lucifer can quote Scripture.
7) Cyberspace is now full in the aftermath of pseudo-"Christian" news sites bashing Driscoll for calling out Lindell.
8) Lindell lashed out at Driscoll for demonizing their "Christian brother" Magdala---yet Magdala admitted in a previous interview in Europe that while a "believer" he was still stripping in GAY bars and just a few weeks ago -- before this men's "worship" event --released a video of himself meditating with statues of Buddha.
POINT: IF this was in Corinth in the days of Paul
--not only would Lindell have lost his pastoral job
--he likely would have been DISFELLOWSHIPPED-- and rightly so.
AS FOR LINDELL: And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So, it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness.
2 Corinthians 11:14,15

"Megachurch pastor Mark Driscoll seethed as Alex Magala, described by two fawning onlookers as “the finest swordsman in all the world,” slowly circled a pole on stage, peeled off his red leather top, slid his tongue up to the tip of a sword, swallowed the sword all the way down his throat, and began to climb the pole erected for the opening of this weekend’s Stronger Men’s Conference in Springfield, Mo.
Driscoll was so enraged by the two onlookers that he claimed to
wake up at 1:00 a.m. to pray for the men. By the time he took the stage, his voice was hoarse.
The Jezebel Spirit opened our event,”
Driscoll declared. “There was a platform. It was a high place. On it was a pole, an Asherah pole, the same thing that’s used in a strip club for women who have the Jezebel Spirit to seduce men.
In front of that was a man, who ripped his shirt off like a woman does in front of a pole at a strip club,”
Driscoll continued to describe. “That man then ascended … and then he swallowed a sword.”
John Lindell, the event organizer and lead pastor of James River
Lindell & Driscoll
Church
, called out, “You’re out of line, Mark!” And when Driscoll continued talking, Lindell added, “Mark?”
Then
Driscoll stood up and replied, “Okay, Pastor John, I’ll receive that.
You’re done!”
Lindell yelled.
Thank you,”
Driscoll responded, putting his hat back on and looking down at his pulpit.
Mark was out of line!”
Lindell barked amidst the thundering wrath. “If Mark wanted to say that, he should have said it to me. He didn’t. Matthew 18. If your brother offends you, go to him privately.”
BNG
Q: WHY would it even cross your mind to bring in a male stripper who swallows swords to perform at a so-called Christian event?
Q: WHY do you need "entertainment" at a worship gathering?
A: For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality... Jude 1:4

Allow me to end with an observation from over at Not The Bee.
"Driscoll isn't exactly the guy we should be listening to for Biblically sound metaphors. Something is deeply rotten in American churches. We have turned houses of worship for Almighty God into circuses, and even guys like Mark Driscoll see it."
