Papal Notes- Paganism Redux: Nature Worship

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:8

"The veneration of nature is being led by Pope Francis through his
climate change encyclical Laudato Si’

Pope Francis pays tribute to Sunday and to nature:

Praise be to you, my Lord, through our Sister, Mother Earth, who sustains and governs us, and who produces various fruit with coloured flowers and herbs” (Laudato Si, paragraph #1).

Laudato Si’ is full of pantheistic references to nature worship:

Everything is related, and we human beings are united as brothers and sisters on a wonderful pilgrimage, woven together by the love God has for each of his creatures and which also unites us in fond affection with brother sun, sister moon, brother river and mother earth.” (Laudato Si, paragraph #92).

Pope Francis also exalts Sunday in his encyclical as a day to connect us to the earth:

On Sunday, our participation in the Eucharist has special
importance. Sunday, like the Jewish Sabbath, is meant to be a day which heals our relationships with God, with ourselves, with others and with the world
.” (Laudato Si, paragraph #237)."
