SDA News - Why Ellen White Left the Church

"Kumawood is a privately owned movie and awards industry that is based in Kumasi, Ghana.

Popular Kumawood actress and producer, Ellen Kyei White has finally opened up on why as a staunch generational Adventist she abandoned the Seventh-day Adventist Church last year.

According to the Kumawood star, she left the Seventh Day Adventist Church simply because she could not do away with wearing earrings as the church demands.

Ellen White explained that although she was used to not wearing earrings, she found the love for it when she joined the movie industry and was asked to wear earrings on set. She said she had no choice but to bow out of the church since she can’t follow the doctrines.
Leaving the Seventh-day Adventist because of our Biblical stance
on adornment is a mixture of honesty and spiritual tragedy.

It’s honest when a person acknowledges that their  lifestyle choices are incompatible with the biblical principles of the Church they belong to, and separates themselves from the Church.
It’s tragic when the lust of the flesh and the pride of life overwhelms walking after the Spirit in a person’s life (1 John 2:16; Galatians 5:16).
For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.  And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.1 John 2:16-17."
