Philippians: Stand fast

PHILIPPIANS: Stand fast
(in Unity, Humility, Justification & the Peace of God)

Therefore,
my brethren dearly beloved and longed for,
my joy and crown,
so stand fast in the Lord,
my dearly beloved.
Philippians4:1
PHILIPPIANS---written by Paul from Prison

Chapter 1
(Stand fast in Unity)
UNITY
....that ye stand fast in one spirit,
with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
And in nothing terrified by your adversaries:
vs. 27,28
Paul's shares his own internal dilemma
(But demonstrates Peace of Mind over the matter)
For I am in a strait betwixt two,
having a desire to depart,
and to be with Christ;
which is far better:
Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
But I would ye should understand,
brethren,
 that the things which happened unto me
have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;
vs. 23,24,12
Chapter 2
(Stand fast in humility)
Humility towards each other
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory;
 but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Look not every man on his own things,
 but every man also on the things of others.
vs. 3,4

The humility of Christ
Let this mind be in you,
which was also in Christ Jesus:
Who, being in the form of God,
thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation,
and took upon him the form of a servant,
and was made in the likeness of men:
And being found in fashion as a man,
he humbled himself,
and became obedient unto death,
even the death of the cross.
vs. 5-8
Chapter 3
(Stand fast in Justification through Christ)
Self-Justification then
Circumcised the eighth day,
of the stock of Israel,
of the tribe of Benjamin,
an Hebrew of the Hebrews;
as touching the law, a Pharisee;
Concerning zeal,
persecuting the church;
touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
vs. 5,6
Justification through Christ now
(Paul's Peace of Mind)
And be found in him,
not having mine own righteousness,
which is of the law,
but that which is through the faith of Christ,
the righteousness which is of God by faith:
vs. 9
Chapter 4
(Stand fast in the Peace of God)

Contentment of the Peace of God
....for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
vs. 11
The God of Peace
Those things,
which ye have both
learned,
and received,
and heard,
and seen in me,
do:
and the God of peace shall be with you.
vs. 9
*********************************

And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7
