Reformation Day (496th Anniversary)

October 31 isn't just Halloween....It is also REFORMATION DAY....did ya know that?

"Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime."
Martin Luther

"There is no worse screen to block out the Spirit than confidence in our own intelligence."
John Calvin

"Christ is our justification, from which follows that our good works, if they are of Christ, are good; but if ours, they are neither right or good."
Ulrich Zwingli
"Here I stand, I can do no other"
Martin Luther

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace,
that we may obtain mercy,
and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16

Above is the dividing line between Protestantism & the Catholic Church which cracked wide open during the Reformation----For those Protestants believed we come to God while Catholicism taught that the Church as an institution intercedes on your behalf.

"This unworthy right hand...."
Thomas Cranmer,
....at his execution by being burned at the stake.  He steadfastly held his right hand over the flame until it was burned off, because he had signed a recantation of his reformed beliefs with that hand.
