Donation of Constantine

The Donation of Constantine was used in the middle ages by Popes to declare their authority over

Emperor Constatine supposedly giving the Bishop of Rome
the "Donation of Constantine"
kings. It was supposed to have been given to the Bishop of Rome by Roman Emperor Constatine in the 4th century.

In part it said - "supremacy as well over the four principal sees, Alexandria, Antioch, Jerusalem, and Constantinople, as also over all the churches of God in the whole earth". For the upkeep of the church of Saint Peter and that of Saint Paul, he gave landed estates "in Judea, Greece, Asia, Thrace, Africa, Italy and the various islands".
Lorenzo Valla examined the document & realized it was written in 8th century Latin. The document was declared a fake.
This gave ammo to the Conciliarists who had been trying to limit the authority of the Pope within the Church for centuries-and to the young Reformer Luther & his followers.
I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Daniel 7:8
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth,
neither whatsoever worketh abomination,
or maketh a lie:
