"A former CIA officer who coined a reputation as a "psychic spy" warned of an impending apocalyptic solar catastrophe on Earth before his death.

Ed Dames, a controversial figure who claimed he could conduct "remote viewing" sessions, died in March at the age of 76. He worked for the CIA and was involved in the agency's remote-viewing experiments during the Cold War.
His last prediction, which he called the "killshot," warned that giant
blasts from the sun would one day strike the planet with force strong enough to destroy power grids and collapse communications systems, leading to a global panic that would spiral to millions of deaths from violence and disease.
Dames claimed the sun was in the beginning stages of the "killshot," which could start after the current Solar Maximum, a period of increased solar activity that is expected to last through the end of the year.

He warned that civilization would quickly spiral out of control as the world's governments would be unable to communicate effectively.
"You wake up and there's no power and there's no water and there's no gasoline, it's going to be a bad nightmare scenario,' Dames said in the October 2025 interview that was released in April. "That's what you're going to be confronted with. The government is not going to help you."
Dames spent years selling books, DVDs and speaking tours focused on surviving the "killshot" event."
