Meditation Upon the PSALMS Series: Psalm 65

"Psalm 65:
The psalm has a simple purpose: to express thanksgiving for rain and
harvest, an appropriate subject in a farming economy.

The setting is a celebration at the tabernacle, perhaps at Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread in the spring, or the Feast of Booths, or Tabernacles, in the fall.

I. Praise for Spiritual Blessings (65:1-5).
II. Praise for Natural Blessing (65:6-13).
All the praise the LORD receives from this earth is from Zion, being the fruit of the Spirit of Christ, and acceptable through Him.

Psalm 65:1 Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Zion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.
Psalm 65:4 Blessed [is the man whom] Thou choosest, and causest to approach [unto Thee, that] he may dwell in Thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of Thy house, [even] of Thy holy temple.
Psalm 65:9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: Thou greatly enrichest it with the river
of God, [which] is full of water: Thou preparest them corn, when Thou hast so provided for it."
