The Atonement and the Stability of God's Government

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear [Respect] God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13

"An Atonement must not only unite justice and mercy, and reconcile

the transgressor to the law, but the perpetuity and stability of the Government should be the first consideration, as they are first in importance in our relations and duties, because on them the perpetuity of all private relations and rights depends."
