Matthew 4:23 Under a Microscope

And Jesus went about all Galilee,
teaching in their synagogues,
and preaching the gospel of the kingdom,
and healing all manner of sickness
and all manner of disease among the people.
Matthew 4:23

Q: What was He Teaching?
A: Points of Doctrine (like about marriage, the Sabbath, State of the Dead, 2nd Advent, Justification, Sanctification, the Triune Godhead, etc.)
But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Mark 10:6-9

And He said unto them, What man shall there be among you,
that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

Matthew 12:11:12

Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep
Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
John 11:11,13

Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He cometh in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.
Mark 8:38

For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
John 3:17

If ye love Me, keep My commandments.
John 14:15

Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of Myself: but the Father that dwelleth in Me, he doeth the works. And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever;
John 14:10:16

Spiritual Lessons (like the Parables)
But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.
Mark 4:34

And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
Luke 6:39

Now learn a parable of the fig tree;
Matthew 24:32
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
Luke 8:11

and Prophecy (about His crucifixion and the end times)
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
John 3:14
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet,...
Mark 13:14
And He said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in My name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
Luke 21:8
And as He sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of Thy coming, and of the end of the world?
And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Matthew 24:3,6-8

Q: What was He preaching?
A: The Gospel and Repentance.
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the
kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Matthew 4:17
--For God so loved the world,
--that he gave His only begotten Son,
--that whosoever believeth in Him
--should not perish,
--but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

Q: How much Healing?
A: Enough to physically exhaust the human body.
Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto Him; and he laid His hands on every one of them, and healed them. And when it was day, He departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought
Him, and came unto Him, and stayed Him, that He should not depart from them.

Luke 4:40,42
And He said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
Mark 6:31

This is My commandment,
That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Greater love hath no man than this,
that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Ye are My friends,
if ye do whatsoever I command you.
John 15:12-14
