"Juan Carlos Girauta works as a journalist for ABC, Spain’s national daily newspaper. He published a page from a textbook for children in Northwest Spain on October 4, 2022, that was instructing students about the importance of knowing their Christian vocation. 

The page, published by SM Espana, an educational textbook publisher, featured a child praying, a nun holding a baby, Pope Francis, Mother Teresa, and a picture of Greta Thunberg in the center, extolling her as an activist girl who defends the planet.

In an essay written to children about their Christian duty and vocation, Greta Thunberg’s climate activism is thrust into the middle of all the religious imagery and world religious leaders. 

Q: Is this just a coincidence? 

A: We don’t believe so.
