IN the NEWS - When Churches Entertain Rather than Worship

Fools make a mock at sin: Proverbs 14:9

The church that can’t worship must be entertained. And men who can’t lead a church to worship must provide the entertainment.” A. W. Tozer

A church may soon find a heaping pile of horse manure on stage in
the sanctuary, after releasing promotional advertising that horse trainer Todd Piece will break down and tame a wild horse live on stage during their father’s day service in an over-the-top sermon illustration design to “demonstrate God’s love as our Father.

The much-ballyhooed gimmick is being put on on Crossroads Church, a seeker-sensitive, multisite megachurch in Cincinnati, Ohio that is led by Brian Tome and that advertises itself as a “place for people who have given up on church but not on God.”

Interestingly enough, far from being “non-denominational,” they advertise themselves as “interdenominational,” explaining:

Our beliefs are shared by many different Christian denominations, and we welcome everyone. It’s like one big pool party, with Methodists and Catholics and Presbyterians all doing cannonballs together." P&P
