Gleanings from Christ's View of Sodom

I. Christ believed the destruction of Sodom to be a literal event.

II. He uses it as a Warning about sin: As He destroyed people for sin once before---so shall people be destroyed for sin again.

 

Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; 

they did eat, 

they drank, 

they bought, 

they sold, 

they planted, 

they builded;

But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom 

--it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, 

and destroyed them all.
--Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Luke 17:28-30 

*And don’t forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning... Jude 1:7 NLT
