"A day after the Czech government declared a state of emergency to
tackle the coronavirus pandemic, the country reported a record daily new infections rate, which is now the fastest rising in Europe.
The Czech Republic recorded 4,457 new coronavirus cases in a single day on Tuesday.
The rate of new cases registered in the Czech Republic over the past two weeks has surpassed that of Spain for the first time, taking the landlocked nation to the top spot of the pandemic spread in Europe.

With Covid-19 cases soaring in the Belgian capital, the premier of the Brussels region, Rudi Vervoort, has announced that bars and
cafes will have to close for one month starting from Thursday.
The regional government is taking additional steps to tackle the coronavirus pandemic as cases continue to rise in the Brussels-Capital Region, Minister-President Vervoort told a news conference on Wednesday.
From Thursday, all bars and cafes will have to shut their doors, while restaurants will remain open. The minister-president claimed the new restrictions were not about alcohol, as even establishments that don’t serve it will have to close. “Serving alcohol is not the criteria here,” he said. The measures announced also forbid drinking alcohol outdoors.

A total of 18,746 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in France over the latest 24-hour recording period, an all-time daily high for the country, the nation’s health authorities announced on Wednesday.
The amount of new cases almost doubled compared to Tuesday when 10,489 infections were registered. The overall number of cases in the country since the start of the pandemic has now reached 653,509.
An additional 80 people had succumbed to the disease during the previous day, according to Wednesday’s update, putting the cumulative death toll at 32,445.

August.

Italy on Wednesday imposed mandatory face-mask wearing outdoors across the country, in an effort to reduce coronavirus infections.
The cabinet agreed on the measure, which makes the wearing of face masks outdoors mandatory, amid a steady increase in new cases in the last two months, the health ministry said.
The decree will probably be effective from Thursday, and ministers have also approved a move to extend the Covid-19 state of emergency to January 31, a cabinet source was quoted as saying.
On October 3, wearing masks outdoors became obligatory in Rome and the Lazio region, amid a rise in new cases."
