"Wildfires continue to rage throughout Oregon Friday morning, have killed at least three people and forced more than half a
million from their homes
AP cites data from the Oregon Office of Emergency Management, which shows about 12% of the state's 4.2 million population, or about 500,000 residents, have been evacuated.
But, according to a new report via Reuters, arson investigators have been called to investigate fires as suspicion grows on the origins."

"Arson investigators have opened a probe into the suspicious origins of a deadly Oregon wildfire that began in the town of Ashland and destroyed hundreds of homes in nearby communities, Ashland's police chief said on Thursday.

The remains of two victims have been found in ruins from the blaze, which erupted on Tuesday and roared through a third day in the midst of a spate of wildfires across Oregon, according to a spokesman for the state fire marshal.
More bodies are expected to be discovered as search teams comb through the wreckage of dwellings that were engulfed during a chaotic evacuation of populated areas along the path of the swiftly spreading flames, Ashland police chief Tighe O'Meara said.
"We tried to get people out as fast as we could," O'Meara told Reuters by phone. "Chances are there are going to be bodies in some of those homes. The likelihood of much larger (fatality) numbers is significant."

Nevada"A man was arrested on suspicion of arson after a woman was
trapped during a fire at a Fremont Street motel Thursday morning.
Firefighters were called at 11:19 a.m. to the Desert Hills Motel at 2121 Fremont St. after a report that a woman was trapped in her unit, according to a statement from the Las Vegas Fire Department.
Investigators allege that Kyle Szczesny, 34, threw a flaming bottle at a woman’s door and when the fire broke out, the woman was left trapped in the bathtub until other residents rescued her and put out the flames, the statement said.
The woman said she didn’t know Szczesny, who also lives at the motel, and didn’t know why she was targeted."
