IN the NEWS - Sands, Locust & Quakes?

....and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:7,8

After the Locust Plague that destroyed crops earlier in the year in east Africa and made it to China---now this...on top of social unrest and covid-19....as for the Sandstorm coming it may not be that bad...guess we'll find out over the weekend.....oh, and let's not forget the earthquakes....

"Argentina has been hit with a locust plague of Biblical proportions that are consuming as many crops as roughly 2,500 people a day.
The short-horned grasshoppers have affected farms in the
commune of Lanteri located in the northern Argentine province of Santa Fe after crossing from neighboring Paraguay.
Videos taken by local residents show the terrifying scene as the insects completely block out the driver’s view on the road.
Motorists had to drive carefully as thousands of locusts flew past at a low altitude, hitting their windscreens.
Another clip captures the locusts sweeping through the regions in northern Argentina.
According to local media, they belong to a species of locust in the subfamily Cyrtacanthacridinae which have an insatiable appetite for crops of wheat, corn and oats used for cattle.
SENASA said this swarm is capable of devouring the same amount of crops as 2,500 people per day."

"In what appears to be the latest Biblical plague of 2020, a nearly
4,000-mile-long dust storm from the Sahara Desert is currently headed toward the southeastern coast of the United States. ... A few times a year, that layer of dust sends out vast clouds that then drift over the sea.
....in those areas affected by the dust, some people with asthma and underlying lung conditions might be at risk for irritation and discomfort. Those residents should avoid outdoor activities and monitor the air quality."

"On Wednesday,
---southern California was struck by a magnitude 5.8 earthquake…
California residents received an emergency alert on their phones which read: “Earthquake! Expect shaking. Drop, Cover, Hold On. Protect yourself now. – USGS ShakeAlert”. The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake struck 17km south-southeast of Lone Pine. The tremor originated at a depth of 2.9km, with an epicenter around 17 kilometers south-east of Lone Pine.
According to a USGS interactive shake map the impact of the earthquake could be felt in the Death Valley National Park.
The earthquake has since been downgraded to 5.8 magnitude.
That quake was followed by numerous sizable aftershocks, including one that was measured to be magnitude 4.6.
Overall, there have been 2,267 earthquakes in California and Nevada over the last 7 days, and that is definitely alarming.

---Farther south along “the Ring of Fire”, Mexico was hit by a magnitude 7.4 earthquake on Tuesday…
A powerful earthquake struck Mexico's southern Oaxaca
region on Tuesday, killing at least five people and shaking buildings hundreds of miles away.
The 7.4-magnitude quake struck mid-morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Its epicenter was off the Pacific coast about seven miles southwest of Santa María Zapotitlán, near the beach resort of Huatulco.
Very large seismic events are happening so frequently now that they barely make a blip on the news these days.

---At least 31 people have been killed and more than 1,600 injured in a powerful earthquake in eastern Turkey.
The magnitude-6.8 quake centred on the town of Sivrice in Elazig province caused buildings to collapse and sent residents rushing into the street.
Forty-five people have been rescued so far, with more than 20 feared to remain trapped, officials say."
