In the early hours of Sunday morning, 19 police officers were injured, 40 business were attacked, and nine shops were looted by violent rioters in Stuttgart, following a drug search of a seventeen-year-old German boy by local police.
Vice President of Stuttgart Police, Thomas Berger, said that he was shocked by the violence: “I have been a police officer for 30 years and have experienced a lot, but there have never been scenes like this in Stuttgart showing how violence is carried out here. I am shocked. I’ve never seen anything like it.”In footage released on social media, a masked man is witnessed running up behind and jump-kicking a police officer who was attempting to apprehend another rioter. The vicious attack received raucous applause from the mob."
