Spurgeon Summarizes Genesis 1-11

So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth:
Genesis 11:8
"Book of Genesis, in particular the first 11 chapters;
we have a critical revelation of the origin of all things that constitute a full world view.

There is here the universe in its origin,
the origin of time,
 space,
matter.

There is the origin of all life;
there is the origin of mankind.
There is the origin of marriage.
There is the origin of the family.

There is the origin of sin and
the origin of redemption.

There is the origin of culture and
civilization and
animal husbandry and
metallurgy and
other enterprises.
The origin of poetry,
the origin of music.

There is the origin of nations.
There is the origin of languages
and all of that runs up through the 11thchapter so that when you arrive in chapter 12 you have the origin of the chosen people through whom the Word of God and the savior of the world would come."
Charles Spurgeon
