PSALM 115: Psalm of the People & the Priests

Psalm 115:
Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth.
vs.15

"The note of confidence is so strong in this psalm that it should be classified as a psalm of national confidence. The message of the psalm could be aptly summarized in three ideas: honor the Lord, because in contrast to idols, He alone is God (verses 1-8), trust the Lord, because He will help you (verses 9-11); praise the Lord, because He is worthy (verses 12-18).
 This praise psalm appears to be antiphonal in nature, following this outline and pattern:
(1)  The people (verses 1-8);
Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. vs.1
(2)  The priests (verses 9-11);
O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD... vs.10
(3)  The people (verses 12-13);
The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; vs.12
(4)  The priests (verses 14-15); and
The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. vs.14
(5)  The people (verses 16-18).
But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. vs.18
Let no opinion of our own merits have any place in our prayers or in our praises."
