Sabbath Bridge

"God’s law is divided into two distinct parts, as evidenced by the two tablets of stone.

The first four commandments point out our duties to God, while the last six identify our responsibilities to our fellow humans.

However, the Sabbath commandment, placed in the heart of the law, also serves as a bridge that connects these two parts of God’s Ten Commandments."

Isaiah foretold our day when he said, “Those from among you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach. …If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy day of the LORD honorable, and shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words, then you shall delight yourself in the LORD” (Isaiah 58:12–14)."
