He aspired to be equal with God. He is the king of the mysteries of Babylon. Coveting the honor of God's Son Jesus Christ, this prince of angels aspired to power which it was the prerogative of Christ alone to wield. He would be God and exalt created beings to the position of his sons, acknowledged as semi divine rulers of his mountain. Thus we see the ancients setting about to build their own “mountains”.
