SDA Issues - The Image of Jealousy

How does the IMAGE OF JEALOUSY relate to the Church?
Then said he unto me,
Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north.
So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north,
and behold northward at the gate of the altar
this image of jealousy in the entry.
Ezekiel 8:5

Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.
Ezekiel 8:6
The 3 Abominations:
1) The Creeping Things on the WALL
And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.
And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.
So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the wall round about.
Ezekiel 8:7,9,10
Q: What is this "wall"?
A: {Salvation} Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy
borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation,...
Isaiah 60:18
& {The Law of God} "The spiritual restoration of which the work carried forward in Nehemiah's day was a symbol, is outlined in the words of Isaiah: "They shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities." "They that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in." Isaiah 61:4;58:12. to restore the principles that are the foundation of the kingdom of God. They are repairers of a breach that has been made in God's law--the wall that He has placed around His chosen ones for their protection, and obedience to whose precepts of justice, truth, and purity is to be their perpetual safeguard."
Prophets & Kings p.678 E.G.W.
Q: What were supposed to be on the "walls" of the temple?
A: {Angels} .....and graved cherubims on the walls.
2 Chronicles 3:7

* In the Church today many leaders & laity are ripping down the "angels" from the walls of the
A CREEPING Thing on the Wall
Church (the 3 Angel's Message)
and replacing it with the "creeping things" from Babylon (such as cheap grace, watering down the Law & Sabbath, the Green Gospel, the social Gospel, abandonment of the 3 Angel's Message- especially about the mark of the beast and identity of who/what the beast is, bringing in emergent church speakers, "celebration services/charismatic music worship", etc.) And still others bring in from Egypt to place on the walls evolution, women's ordination from secular feminism, acceptance of the LGBT movement including gay choirs like at the Palm Springs Church or a transgender elder like at the Hollywood Church).

* How they have trampled on the 3 Angel's Message?
Another CREEPING Thing on the Walls

1st (The hour of His Judgment has come) - many openly follow
in the footprints of Desmond Ford &
mock the Sanctuary Doctrine & Investigative Judgment
2nd (Babylon is fallen)-- they openly bring in speakers from Babylon
3rd (The Mark of the Beast)-- they claim the world is too secular
for a counterfeit Sabbath so they spiritualize the mark as 666
being just triple bad & dismiss anti-popery as Ellen White's
idea from her being influenced by the last gasp
of anti-Catholicism during the late Victorian Age
1a) God ignores the rebel Leaders & their Prayers (Incense)
And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel,
and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan,
with every man his censer in his hand;
and a thick cloud of incense went up.
Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.
Ezekiel 8:12,13

2) Weeping for Tammuz

He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do. Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD'S house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.

Ezekiel 8:13,14

Q: Why are they weeping for Tammuz? (a false god of the world)
A: Obviously their heart is still in the world
Q: But what are God's people supposed to be weeping for?
A: {hint-Not weeping for Tammuz!!} Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:...Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them:
Joel 2:12,17
* "With many, a philosophical idol is enthroned in the place of Jehovah; while the living God, as He is revealed in His word, in Christ, and in the works of creation, is worshiped by but few. Thousands deify nature while they deny the God of nature.  The god of many professedly wise men, of philosophers, poets, politicians, journalists--the god of polished fashionable circles, of many colleges and universities, even of some theological institutions--is little better than Baal, the sun-god of Phoenicia."
Great Controversy p.583 E.G.W.
* Tammuz- "Tammuz was known as “the good, young one,” and his beauty caught the attention of Inanna (known to the Akkadians as Ishtar), who took him for her consort. Later observance of the
Tammuz/Adonis rituals was somewhat unique in that they were performed primarily by women, and, while worship may have included celebrations for Tammuz’s return, the mourning of his death was emphasized more. The women’s tears recalled the supposed tears of Ishtar that brought Tammuz back. This is what the women in the gate of the temple were doing in Ezekiel 8. It is easy to see why the Lord referred to this pagan observance as an abomination; a vile fertility god was being honored in the very place the One True God had sanctified for Himself.
The cult of Tammuz centred around two yearly festivals—one celebrating his marriage to the goddess Inanna, the other lamenting his death at the hands of demons from the netherworld....the marriage of the god was dramatically celebrated in February–March, ... the texts relate that in the marriage rite the king actually took on the identity of the god and thus, by consummating the marriage with a priestess incarnating the goddess, magically fertilized all of nature for the year.
The celebrations in March–April that marked the death of the god also seem to have been dramatically performed. Many of the laments for the occasion have as a setting a procession out into the desert to the fold of the slain god."

P.S.- in Tammuz we have here sexual perversity & nature worship rituals think of the LBGT movement creeping into Christendom, even Adventism & the Green Gospel replacing the Biblical Gospel-from the Vatican to even the pages of the Adventist Review.
3) Backs toward the Temple-Worshipping the Sun
And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
Ezekiel 8:16
* Many church leaders have turned their backs on 1844 and the Sanctuary. Even the late Raymond Cottrell started Adventist Today website in the 1990's to 1) Reject the Investigative Judgment & 2) bring evolution into the Church. Let's not even get into Charles Scriven & Spectrum or La Sierra or Alex Bryan, etc. right now.
Eventually many of these will join in the mark of the beast (counterfeit Sabbath) towards the sun (day of the sun) but not all. Some will wake up-some won't.
Q: What will be the punishment after the close of probation (in Ez. 9) for these Church leaders?
A: Slay utterly old and young, ....and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.
Ezekiel 9:5
Q: What do God's true followers do?
A: .....and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof....And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:....but come not near any man upon whom is the mark;
Ezekiel 9:5,6
P.S.- this "mark" is not those with the mark of the beast---this "mark" of those who sigh & cry because of the abominations committed in the church are here the one's in Revelation who are "sealed" in their foreheads. In Ez.9:6 you can see these people with this "mark' are spared.
SUMMARYon the Image of Jealousy

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

(this would include an image to the beast-via the nature worship of the Venerable Day of the Sun) Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God,
