IN the NEWS - Episcopalian / Anglican Rift

"The worldwide Anglican Communion voted to suspend the entire U.S. Episcopal Church this
week because it has embraced same-sex marriage, allowing the election of homosexual priests and allowing same-sex marriages to be performed.
The suspension of the U.S. Episcopal Church (about 2 million members) by the worldwide Anglican Communion reduces the U.S. religious body to a non-voting observer status within it own communion, reported NBC News.
The U.S. Episcopal Church will not be allowed to take part in any decision-making “on doctrine of policy,” said NBC, and cannot officially represent the Anglican Communion.
In a statement, the Anglican Communion said, “Recent developments in The Episcopal Church with respect to a change in their Canon on marriage represent a fundamental departure from the faith and teaching held by the majority of our Provinces on the doctrine of marriage. Possible developments in other Provinces could further exacerbate this situation.””
