And the Philistines followed hard upon Saul and upon his sons;
and the Philistines slew Jonathan,.... So Saul died,
and his three sons, and his armor bearer,
and all his men, that same day together.
1 Samuel 31:2,6
Here we see both the good Jonathon and the wicked Saul died together on the same battlefield.
Both lay in death together until their resurrection-Jonathon presumably the 1st resurrection & Saul presumably the 2nd resurrection.
The lesson here is that the good & bad share the grave until their resurrection together - here on battlefield earth in this Great Controversy between God and His opponent - the ultimate "Philistine".
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
First Resurrection) some to everlasting life,
Second Resurrection) and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Daniel 12:2
for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
And shall come forth;
First Resurrection) they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life;
Second Resurrection) and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
John 5:28,29
First Resurrection - Jonathon's?) Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Revelation 20:6Second Resurrection - Saul's?) But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.
Revelation 20:5
