Paul describes apostasy as being characterized by
1) sin or breaking God's law (2 Thessalonians 2: 3- 8),
2) believing a lie (2: 11), and
3) not believing the truth (2: 12).
The Holy Spirit says that in the latter days some shall apostatize from the faith.
Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons. 1 Timothy 4: 1.
