Our Mortification

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:
that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father,
even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:4
Spiritually Speaking, as Christ died & was buried, so too must be our old man.
Then we can arise anew .....
What must we bury in mortification (death)?
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth;
fornication,
uncleanness,
inordinate* affection,
evil concupiscence,*
and covetousness,
which is idolatry:
Colossians 3:5
* "Concupiscence (from the Latin: con-, with + cupi, cupid - desire + -escere - suffix denoting beginning of a process or state) is an ardent, usually sensual, longing.
For Christians, concupiscence is what they understand as the orientation, inclination or innate tendency of humans to long for fleshly appetites, often associated with a desire to do things which are proscribed." Wikipedia
