Delving Into Haggai: Intro

HAGGAI: Restoring the Sanctuary to it's GLORY
We know Haggai was referred to as a prophet by Ezra.....
Then the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo,
prophesied unto the Jews that were in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel,
even unto them.
Ezra 5:1

Haggai in Biblical Hebrew

In the second year of Darius the king,
in the sixth month,
in the first day of the month,
came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet 
unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah,
and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest,
Haggai 1:1
TIMEFRAME - Literal & Symbolic:
1) August-September 520 B.C.
2) The name Haggai means festal/my holiday
(The coming wedding feast in Heaven?)
3) The name Zerubbabel may mean winnowed or pressed out of Babylon
(Calling those scatterd in spiritual Babylon home?)
4)The name Joshua is from the Hebrew word Yasha, which means to save or deliver
(The Greek word for Joshua is Jesus)

Haggai may have been a very old man.....
Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory?
and how do ye see it now?
is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?
Haggai 2:3
